This was my meal - chicken chicharrones.
Steve A.

I met up with several (as per the photos) of my friends for dinner, and they chose to stay out of downtown Nyack. Ease of parking - I mean, the parking lot was jam packed here, but somehow we all found spots and somehow there was no wait for a table for 8! So this place is built to serve a large crowd. And like any NJ-esque diner (I mean, it's across the river but only a few minutes out), you have 12 pages of menu to choose anything you want. None of it's going to be gourmet, but some solid selections to be found. Things that stood out: * Regular fries look hand cut. No need to upgrade. * Standard meats, sides, sauces on hand. * Friendly staff, service wasn't amazing but nothing bad. Kept my water filled but I didn't get ~quite~ as many lemons as I might have hoped. My food came out a couple minutes after everyone else's. I figured chicken chicharrones was something different than the usual pork - meat instead of fat, for one! But it turned out to be relatively bland, without the salt and spices that I like. So even though the menu tends toward Latin American cuisine as its speciality, I would stick with the American food if I were you. Not a bad place overall, four stars may be a bit generous but they did OK with our large group and were happy to go with separate checks at the end, so I will round it on up.

The Nyack Diner is a great spot for a quick meal! Came in and got breakfast with my mom - I had the Nyack Omelette and it was hearty. Food came out fast. I was tempted to get a mimosa (they have a full bar!) but I'm trying to do Dry January.

After our visit, we decided to walk around town. There were a lot of restaurants open, but they mostly empty. The Breakfast & Burger Club seemed to be really busy. That being said, I figured it must be a good place to eat. We sat down at a table in the restaurant. The server came over with menus and water. We decided to share a Chicken Cobb Wrap along with a Root beer. The IBC Root beer was good. Anyway, it took a very long time for our order to come out. While we were waiting for the food, I noticed a strong smell of cooking oil. The server kept apologizing for the wait. The order finally came out. We were so starving at that point. The wrap tasted very dry, so unlike any Cobb salad. There was no avocado, no bacon etc... In addition, the fries were soggy and cold. I took a good look at the wrap and it had to be a Chicken Caesar wrap. My bf thought the same thing. There was no sense in sending it back, since we already ate some of it. We were charged for a Cobb salad wrap $17.45. However, the Caesar wrap was the same price, so we didn't bother saying anything. The male server and root beer were the restaurant's only highlights. Street parking is available.

I've been going to Art Cafe for years, and it's still one of my favorite places to go for breakfast…read moreor lunch! I love that their menu has so many options that you don't typically find at other brunch spots, and there are a few things I almost always end up ordering. I am personally not vegetarian but this place is 100%. Make a reservation if you can, especially on weekends. It gets very busy! One of my favorites is the Chagall Bowl, but I always substitute the grain for Israeli couscous. I personally think it's so much better that way! I've ordered it countless times and still haven't gotten tired of it. I also really love their shakshuka, which is such a good option when I'm in the mood for something warm and comforting. Another favorite of mine is the goat cheese malawach. If you've never tried it, I definitely recommend it! The pastry is flaky and buttery, and I love the combination with the goat cheese. It's one of those dishes I don't see offered at many other places, which is part of why I love coming here. But I have to say, one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back is their chai tea late. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best chai I've ever had. I don't know exactly what they do differently, but nothing I've had elsewhere compares. I honestly wish I could make it at home because I crave it all the time. I also really like the atmosphere here. It's a cute, cozy spot, and I've always enjoyed coming here whether it's for a full meal or just something to drink. It can definitely get busy, but I think that says a lot about how much people enjoy it. Art Cafe has been one of my go-to spots for years, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. If you're going for the first time, I'd recommend the Chagall Bowl with Israeli couscous, shakshuka, or goat cheese malawach. And seriously, get the hot chai. It's SO good. There is no parking directly associated so either do street parking or the lot a few blocks away ( pay to park)

Hudson House is one of the few places around with standards…read more Quality ingredients. Attentive service. Silverware gets replaced after each course. Napkins get folded when you leave the table. Everything tastes delicious. Homemade desserts. Timeless, cozy decor. Yes, the streets of Nyack have a seedy crowd roaming the streets these days, but Hudson House still sits on the main drag among it all. There's street parking or a large parking lot across the street. Free after 7. Everything I've had here is delicious. We came recently with colleagues to celebrate a special event. My favorite cocktail is still the port Old Fashioned... possibly because I won't try others. Wines are good here too. The hamachi, tuna and gnudi appetizers were outstanding. So flavorful, fresh, balanced. All three were different and simply so good. At the table this evening, we tried short rib, steaks, Brussels sprouts, beet salad, lentil pea soup and my favorite, the Berkshire pork chop. OMG, that chop is unlike anything else... and they consistently execute it. Crisp, seasoned exterior, amazing juicy interior. Served on a medley of assorted beans, peppers and chorizo. It's hard to order anything else when it's this good. With 7 of us at the table, we ordered 8 desserts. They're that good here. I tried a special this evening, which was a blueberry pudding something with a crust and ice cream on it, and I don't know. It was yummy and creamy and blueberry yumminess. Everyone at the table raved about the sticky toffee pudding, which supposedly is a customer favorite here. Overall, awesome night. Everyone at the table said they'd come back and even our grumpiest co-worker gave it a thumbs up!
