As someone who used to cycle avidly, gave it up, and came back after a decade, I can attest to the massive benefit of TBS and Pete's approach to cycling. For novices, everyone here creates a welcoming environment with no aggressive upselling or scoffing. Every question is thoughtfully answered and they take their time. They've built up an incredible community and every time we stop by we see regulars. Group rides on Thursdays (looking forward to those!) also help with community building. While we were there, I looked around at their awesome inventory of cool bikes and accessories (and found myself some new bike gloves to buy too). After waiting more than two weeks to get my bike back, I discovered that the rear brake was still loose. When I asked the mechanic why he had called me to pick it up when the issue had clearly not been fixed, he responded, "I didn't know that's what you needed fixed." Did he forget because he was too busy trying to upsell me on unnecessary parts and services? Waiting over two weeks only to receive my bike back with the original problem unresolved is unacceptable. I would not recommend this shop

I took my boyfriend out to Sooke to rent Hobie kayaks and we had a blast!…read more Allen gave us great suggestions about where we should pedal around and thoroughly explained how to use the kayaks. He outfitted us with everything we would need including a banana to snack on! I felt completely safe the entire time even though I'd been nervous going into it and my boyfriend still felt like he'd had an adventure. We're both from the prairies so seeing sea stars, seals, crab, eagles, and even boats was pretty exciting for us. Excellent fun and we plan to do it again!

My mom and I were not great at using the oars but Allen was patient and gave us tips to help us! He was entertaining and taught us how to use kelp as a horn! We saw lots of wildlife including some cute seals that we got really close to! We highly recommend this incredible experience to all adventurers and recommend that you go with a guided tour as you will learn much more and get to see more! Thanks for an awesome time, Allen!
