We recently had a leaky basement wall that required replacing a large section of the studs and…read moredrywall. Happily, this gave us the opportunity to finally upgrade our 10+-year-old surround sound wiring with a more modern, sleeker setup. We reached out to Intellihome, they heard our ideas, added a few additional quality-of-life features that we hadn't even thought of, and got to work. Im not sure what I was expecting, but the end result exceeds even those vague expectations. The new wiring is a big future-proofing upgrade, wires are tucked neatly into the wall, and as you can see in my photo, there are zero cables hanging from the TV -- a crucial feature when you have four curious, chaotic cats. Intellihome was extremely easy to work with, exceedingly professional, and they do great work. When we eventually opt for further surround sound upgrades, we'll be calling Intellihome.

Quick response and quote for the work I needed done. 2. Easy to set up a time. 3. Zeb was on time and called ahead when he was on his way. 4. Zeb not only installed the wall mount but also put it together! 5. I appreciated the customer ed on how to reposition TV without unplugging it by accident (it had a short cord). I'll be hiring them if I need help with more stuff!

Still calling them 6 months later as I continue to add more features to our C4 system. And they've never let me down. Some of these reviews are unrealistic in my view. When working with technology things can be unpredictable. Expecting to hook up all this stuff flip a switch and it magically works perfectly is crazy. They've solved every problem eventually. And the "never give up" attitude is what I value more than speed. We love our C4 system and it's incredibly complicated.... - Theater with Xbox/Xfinity/AppleTV - 150+ light switches - electric blinds throughout - outdoor sound system - speakers in virtually every room - 10+ wireless access points all over the house - 10 wireless deadbolts - Tied into our security system with over 100 door, window, glass, smoke and co2 sensors Highly recommend you give them your business and patience. They will tell you that they are doing work for huge companies and individuals and you are lucky to have them. Unfortunately for us, we believed them. First, they gave us a timeframe for installation which ended up being much later than they promised which caused us not to have our system in place for a party. Second, the wireless network that they set up had lots of holes in it. Their sales pitch promised that it would be flawless and if it wasn't, there would be no cost to us for making it right. It took them weeks to come out and analyze it and we had to threaten them to get them to show up. Finally they did.They tried to charge us a few thousand dollars more when it didn't work and blamed the house set up for the problem. The truth is they never came out and checked out how our house was set up and as a result, The system didn't work. They did put in more equipment to make it right and then tried to charge us for it. Eventually they wrote it off. But it was a fight every step of the way and the representations they made to us when we bought the system were simply over exaggerated. Third, we bought this service contract where they represented that they would be able to fix any problem that arose within a day. That simply was false. Today, we have not had I our system working for a few days and after they screwed around with it for a while over the Internet, said that they would not be able to get to it until next week. When we reported the representations that they made, they simply said we'll try, but we only have two technicians. If you are reading this note they only have two technicians that can solve problems. And now we are without our system for another week because they can't fix it. In short, these people overpromise and under deliver and overcharge also. Don't go near them. You are forewarned.

Been doing business with these people since we moved to Portland- so around six years. We have a…read moreservice contract that guarantees service within two days and they have always honored it. Their repair people have always been great- not only made the repair but have taken time to explain what is going on. Also high points for clean and neat. We love them- also just noticed that they are woman-owned which might explain their great front-desk always helpful. So highly recommended!

We had them service our fireplaces…read more The technician said one of the fireplaces needed a new gas valve and they would send us a quote. We received the quote a few days later - $1300+ for the new gas valve, and that included parts and labor. That seemed high based on my online research, so I asked Jacobs for a breakdown of the cost, including what kind of gas valve they were quoting. It took their customer service department 7 days to respond. This was after we sent three emails and left a voicemail. The customer service rep claimed all of our emails went to spam, but that doesn't explain why she didn't reply to the voicemail I left. When they did finally reply, they said they don't provide a breakdown of the cost and that "the quote is the quote". This was surprising, but we were in a rush to get the fireplace fixed, so we authorized the new gas valve anyway. Once again, we didn't hear back. After several days we decided to find another company to service that one fireplace. Finally, 5 days later, Jacobs replied and said they could schedule the service, but we told them we moved on to another company since we hadn't heard back. But it gets worse - the new company started to dismantle the fireplace and asked if Jacobs actually took out the fake logs and cleaned them. I told them I wasn't sure because I wasn't in the room at the time. He asked because the logs had soot all over them (he showed me), so Jacobs didn't even clean the fireplace properly, which is part of what we were paying them to do. On top of this, the rep at the new company could tell right away that we didn't need a new gas valve, and that it was just a pilot light part that needed to be replaced - the cost for that part was $215, and he had the part in his truck. So he replaced it and it works. Jacobs not only didn't clean my fireplace properly, but they were going to charge me $1300+ for something I didn't need. Given this, plus the really poor customer service response time, I highly recommend calling someone else.
