    Vanilla rum Canelé

I love this bakery. The inside is very modern and bright. Small place, only a few tables inside. I have had their lemon poppy seed scone at Roseline coffee- I believe they sell nuvrei pastries there and it is my absolute favorite. So delicious and never disappoints. Today I tried their canele which is another one of my favorite pastries and they are often hard to find so I was so excited to see they had them. It was great. Crispy on the outside and custardy in the middle. You could see flecks of vanilla bean inside. The coffee was pretty standard. My coffee and canele was 7.50$ all together. The baristas were super nice and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this spot.

Nice little whole in the call bakery and cafe. We popped in here as we like to try pastries in the area. The selection was a little bit lacking with most of the options just being variants of the standard croissant. Was hoping to see a little bit more. That said what we did get overall was tasty and a solid showing for a croissant. We went with the standard and the blueberry vanilla danish. The coffee and ordering seemed fine overall and there was a few small seating areas though I wouldn't expect to be able to find a seat as it is a rather small venue. It was a little confusing they there was no area to buss or return plates. They wound up just taking them at the counter but some indication of that would likely make the experience more clear for folks.

Loved their rose croissant! The flavor was strong and delightful, floral and lightly sweet, fluffy inside with flaky outer crisp and light glaze. Very balanced and goes well with black coffee or cold brew. Service was very helpful for new customers. Not too much seating but cozy and clean.

Not sure how this cafe escaped my attention. Glad I discovered this bakery last weekend. Their pastries looked too notch and that ham and cheese 'everything' croissant was amazing (even though a little pricey). I ate everything including the crumbs. I also loved how my croissant was served warm. I only wish all savory croissants can be served warm (especially the vegetarian everything croissant). Not a bad idea to get a mini toaster now

Stopped by with a friend to grab a coffee and some pastries. The customer service as great. There were many options of croissants and macaroons. I got the Rose Croissant and it was so yummy! Definitely recommend trying it at least once :)

I tried this bakery due to all the hype I've seen online and honestly I didn't really get the hype. It's cute inside, limited seating and it has a glass display case for the pastries, you just pick and order. Street parking! The service was alright. I tried the chocolate croissant and my boyfriend got a savory croissant; breakfast with protein of some sort. He also got a rose coffee of some sort that was seriously disappointing and he ended up just tossing. The croissants were ok, severely lacking actual filling of anything other than a regular croissant. That and the coffee being bad, honestly just not into trying it again. I've had very good croissants and this just isn't a place that comes to mind for one, they weren't inedible but to eat a filled croissant that actually has little to no filling and it was like almost $6 each, super disappointing.

I didn't want to have a pastry & coffee break onsite at Powell's Books cafe or the nearby Starbucks. So thankfully, the Yelp app guided me to Nuvrei in the Pearl District, a short walk a few blocks away (9/3/24). I was warmly greeted upon entering. I was immediately dazzled by the amazing assortment of pastries and macarons. I decided to have a pain au chocolat and a 16oz mocha onsite. There's limited seating, but worked out fine for me and three others. Both items hit the spot during my 30 minute visit. Other info to pass on is that acceptable payment are debit/credit cards only. Valhrona chocolate is used with their baked goods. That's a plus for me! Owner worked with François Payard in NYC and is a native Portlander. Been in business fot two decades, clearly I've been under a rock! Definitely late to this party, nice spontaneous find!

WHEN: Fri @1pm The last time I came here was 5 years ago, so I'm happy to swing by before heading to a cafe to work out of! I wanted to try something new this time, which is why I got: PISTACHIO ROSE CROISSANT - $6 This is an almond croissant with pistachios and rose flavoring added to it, and boy was it a delightful pastry! I really enjoyed it through and through! It didn't taste like it was a twice baked croissant though, so it was soft and flakey. Last time I got here I got the ROSE CROISSANT ($6) and a SCONE, which both were super yummy. Even the staff mentioned that everything that wasn't a croissant there was under rated, and I knew what she meant immediately! Thank you Nuvrei for the hospitality, I really enjoy your pastries!

Rose croissant was amazing, coffee was light and had an amazing aroma. Shop is small but modern and well laid out. Highly recommended for a quick delicious pastry and coffee.

It's a cute little shop that has a variety of pastries and dessert items. The service was great and their chocolate cookie is the best! It has a chewy texture and rich chocolate flavor. They also have a good pretzel sandwich.

A very small bakery with limited seating and not super easy to find, Nuvrei offers some incredible and unique pastry offerings. Most notably in their unique croissant choices, like none I've ever seen elsewhere. The macaroons are delectable as well. The rose croissant and the everything croissant are incredible. I need to try them all but expect to be pleased.

Cafe entrance is indoors, sharing the exterior entrance with a flower shop. They have a case with rows of colorful macarons, as well as a case of various pastries. Inside is very sleek, minimalistic, and clean. Staff was friendly and patient as we selected our pastries. Ordered the blueberry danish, chocolate walnut cookie, and a croissant. There is very little seating - two sets of bar height tables facing the wall, and two low tables, totaling 8 seats. Not very conducive for a stay and chat coffee shop. Meets the requirements as a stylish coffee shop in downtown, but not a great value for the pastries and drinks. The minimalism felt more stark and empty than welcoming and warm. Shared bathroom which requires a code.

Shoutout to the person working here to was willing to exchange the plain croissant I originally ordered for a an almond one. I would definitely recommend avoiding the plain croissant- it's very dry, almost stale, with none of that characteristic butteriness. The almond croissant was delicious, and covered in plenty of crunchy almonds.

The flaky layers were especially impressive. I'm a big rocky road fan and had never tried it as a cookie before this one was a winner and tasted fresh, not processed at all. Definitely looking forward to visiting in person next time.

You have to balance on small steps at some point. Not ideal. I would normally give this bakery 4-5 stars, but I think they deserve only two stars for my personal experiences. The staff has never been all that friendly, and on my last visit (and last for a while or ever) one woman was so rude to me I was so shocked I just stood there with my jaw hanging open until I finally regained my wits and just stepped away. I was treated crappily by staff who I observed saying my order was not their responsibility. Not everyone there was bad. The initial service I got was good, but my coffee was so poorly slapped together because I spoke up. My sandwich was also slapped together missing ingredients I paid for, so enjoy the extra money I guess. Here's how the interaction went. I was assured my mocha would be ready in a few minutes, before my food, from a really nice staff person who too my to-go order. They instructed me where to stand. I watched the person put together my mocha. All that was needed was ice. My food came out quickly and I took it while waiting for my drink. 15 minutes passed. Two staff members looked at my drink and one said "who put this here " and another person said "I don't know, not my problem". I spoke up and said "hey that's my drink and if you put ice in it, I promise I'll get out of your way" - it was busy and packed. I was trying to be understanding. One of them made a disgusted face at me and said "I was gonna put ice in it!!!" ... wow. Eventually they did. And did it so sloppily that there was mocha all over the drink. The top was put on poorly and the drink spilled all over me. I tried to tell another server who was greeting and seating people but they kept saying "oh it's okay! It's totally fine" - no, it actually isn't. I get it. You don't want my business of 15+ years, but there are nicer ways of conveying that. I was ripped off and treated in a way I don't treat my enemies. But just like my order, that's "not your problem", right?
