I had a very poor experience with Nuvia and I received quotes from 3 different water filtration companies. A man named James Ramert told me he was the manager. I could tell he didn't want to be there and give me a presentation. He said other people were supposed to be working but they called off because of the rain. I could tell that he loves his family very much because he was talking about his wife the entire time (my contractor was there working in the house and he can confirm). James gave me the bare minimum about the water filter and was not transparent about the financing. He kept telling me that signing the papers did not mean that I was locked in and it was not a commitment... I learned that he was very wrong after speaking to the other two water companies. I called James to cancel the filtration installation system but he did not inform his technicians. Due to James' lack of empathy for me, I had a credit check on my record, a finance account that was almost opened and a lot of stress trying to cancel the installation and paperwork. I had to talk to three different departments and people in the company just to get it canceled and only 2 of the 4 people I spoke to seemed to even care. I tried calling James Ramert 3 more times to help resolve the issue but he never picked up the phone again or called me back. I'm sure the water filtration is a great product but if you want to be treated like a decent human being, I recommend picking another company. read more

I originally called in only because they sent a postcard telling us that we missed a parcel (and I happened to be waiting for a package). Once I realized it was a water company, that advertising tactic didn't really upset me since the person who answered said that a gift card was set aside for us and a free water test was offered. I thought that we had nothing to lose anyway to get our water tested and to find out more about water filtration systems and the costs. My husband pushed back one of his meetings so that both of us could be there for the appointment as they requested. A water specialist came to do our water test and was very clear in her presentation and did a great job showing us what was in our tap water vs our Brita filtered water vs clean (bottled, reverse osmosis) water. It was very eye-opening, and my husband refuses to drink Brita filter water now! My husband posted photos of our water test on Instagram and 2 of our friends also want to have their water tested now as well. We were convinced of the benefits of getting the reverse osmosis system and of Nuvia's being the best quality with a lifetime warranty, but because of the cost ($1,500), we weren't able to make the commitment that day. For new homeowners they offer free organic household products like soaps, laundry detergent, and cleaners rather than a discount to the price of the system, and is only given if purchasing the house water softening system ($5,000). We had just made some large purchases for appliances (and have some appliances that we still have to purchase), so we prefer to wait a few months down the line, but it was very informative! read more

Since moving, I've received at least 4 "postcards" claiming there is a parcel on hold that I need to pick up. Some even state "Final Notice" but the cards keep arriving. This was very stressful to my family since we just moved and are working to get our mail forwarded and have a lot of other concerns with utilities getting transferred, etc. These postcards are misleading and take advantage of people when they are vulnerable. The owner claims they are "reducing their carbon footprint" by sending a small "postcard" but this makes no sense. If they really wanted to reduce the amount of trash generated, why not send a single postcard instead of many? The owner also claims that they aren't pretending to be another company (or the USPS) but they don't indicate anywhere on the cards which company they are from, so they are engaging in deceptive marketing. I received postcards on these dates (actual images from USPS Informed Delivery attached): 9/23/2022 9/30/2022 10/14/2022 10/21/2022 So they are arriving pretty much exactly on a 7 day interval. I believe one was also sent on 10/7 but I don't have an image of it. I understand Yelp's policies where reviews can get flagged and removed for the customer not having a relationship with the business, but I believe I've received enough of these cards and spent enough time researching their origin and reviewing them that this review should remain live as a warning to others who may be deceived by these mailers. I just bought a new house and received a notice In my mailbox of a "final notice" for a missed delivery and a parcel number with instructions to call to schedule pick up. I call and am told the representative is with a "water company", and since this is a new build, they need to come out to "make sure the water is up to city standards and drop off a care package containing a gift card". I set up an appointment for later that day, which started an hour long sales pitch that sounded like they were selling a time share or a used car. The rep that came out was nice and gracious, but this company is using disgusting and predatory business practices to get in your door. The only way I knew it was fake was the fact that it had a 714 number to call back even though I live in Irvine. After researching the number listed, I found that many have complained about the scam and on the BBB website. If a company can't even be transparent in their advertisements and have to deceit potential customers how can they even be trusted? What is the point of such a deceitful advertising tactic? I had my water system installed 5 years ago. The water was constantly running, and increased my water bill. I called Nuvia and they knew immediately that the valve wasn't working correctly and needed to be replaced. Then they charge you $120 for a house call to come fix a valve that is broken. Seems like robbery to me. They know that their valves don't last, and then charge the customer for having to come fix it $120. Definitely do not recommend using them read more

Like others have mentioned, Nuvia uses deceptive marketing practices. I got a mail that looked like an official mail from the United States Postal Office. The title said "NOTICE OF PARCEL ON HOLD" and said "FINAL NOTICE" so I thought it was something that urgently needed my attention. However, after calling the number and talking to the customer service representative, i realized this was not from the post office, but from Nuvia that is trying to sell water filters. There is no parcel that is on hold really. I asked if they have some type of relationship with the city; and they said no. They said they would give a $50 gift card if you allow them to test your water, but that is not something i was planning to do. BEWARE! As many reviewers mentioned I was also misled by an official looking failed parcel delivery notice at my new place (they've even tried to copy the USPS logo in the postage area!!). When I called the number on the notice they were unclear on what it is they're offering & kept saying my water needed to be tested! So I agreed to a meeting out of curiosity to see how deep this rabbit hole goes! As expected, sales person showed up with a giant briefcase full of test tubes & blah blah blah 30 min pitch on why my water is horrible & I should invest in a water filtration/purification system with Nuvia, because they are the best! He offered financing, but couldn't give me any information on financing terms, & insisted I first commit to buy, and then they will figure out the APR and other terms (lol). As emphasized in other reviews, we received three misleading advertisements in the mail from Nuvia (disguised as official notices) in order to get us to arrange for the representative to come out to our home for a sales pitch. This is entirely unethical to advertise in this manner and a major red flag for myself. The next red flag was the fact that the sales representative started discussing our water quality and then entirely forgot which city he was in and had to clarify where we were. Seems to me that you should not be discussing the supposed "poor" quality of water when you do not know where you are. The service they offer is entirely unaffordable for the average consumer and unnecessary. I inquired about whether or not the system filters out fluoride. I am a dental professional and know that fluoride is safe and beneficial in many ways as proven in evidence based research. The sales representative told me all fluoride was filtered out and that fluoride "is a hoax" and "the only thing it has been proven to do is lower IQ in children". He said all of these statements very seriously as fact and not opinion, which is terribly unfortunate misinformation. Not sure if that is what the company thinks or his own opinion, but again he stated it as fact during this pitch representing Nuvia. Overall, I felt that it was a scam. Of course, do your own research on water quality and read the reports in your city. Personally, I read the reports and will be continuing to drink the "superior" rated water from the tap as reported by the state in my own area. We bought our first place and received multiple postcards in the mail saying we have a package waiting to be picked up and to call the number on the card. We called and it was Nuvia offering a free consultation to test the water quality in our new home. Ryan, the sales rep, offered us a deal that included a $50 amazon gift card if we signed up that day, this was on Friday, 1/21/22. He gave a presentation where he put different types of water into different tubes (tap water vs. Brita water vs. bottle water) and added something to them that made the water turn different shades of yellow to show how much chlorine is in the water. Ultimately, he sold us on the reverse osmosis water system and we also added the alkaline filter. However, when the installer came the following Monday, 1/24/22, he said they ran out of the alkaline filters. We called Ryan and he said someone would be coming by to install the alkaline filter on Wednesday, 1/26/22, but no one came. We told Ryan and he apologized for the delay and since he hadn't sent us the amazon gift card yet, he offered to send us $75 instead of $50 to make up for the delay. We eventually received the alkaline filter, but it has been over a month and he STILL has not sent us the gift card that was promised in the contract. We have reminded him multiple times and he says "sorry about that I'll send it over" but never does. Seems like he promised us the gift card as a selling point to sweeten the deal, with no intention to deliver. This company definitely preys on new homeowners and uses a predatory marketing strategy by sending a postcard claiming a package needs to be picked up just so you'll call them. read more

There is no direct marking of Nuvia's name, products, or services on the "hold for parcel" notice. This company used the "hold for parcel", on me as a way to make me call them for a service I did not want. They use the receiver's expectation for a parcel as a means to initiate a "free water test", where they then advertise their products and services, which are not present in the notice and don't give the receiver the choice to know what communication to expect when calling. Los Angeles : I warned them I would post my experience. I would absolutely recommend anyone that fell pray to their advertising trick of the certified mail and then the gift certificate to RUN and don't INSTALL anything until you've seen all the documents and payments they want. I'm sure this is a great water system, but the people selling and the way they do it is completely unethical. I was told "100 dollars a month, until the system is paid off" and I repeated my question so may times if that was really the deal - always hearing YES. So I agreed to install, understanding that if I wasn't happy with the system we could pull it out. Reverse osmosis system first. Then a week later the house system. AND then a week later, the financing contract. The 100 dollars a month wasn't a lie, however that was with a 9.95 APR so the cost of the unit after 10 years, 18K! My sale rep knew I was a first time home buyer, there was no way I could afford this. We called - and guess what. Now its $4,500 to uninstall the systems. And I missed my 3 day window to cancel. After threats on both sides of legal consequences - I had to take a loan to just pay the system off. So - there's my story. I warned the last rep I spoke with that I was so upset with this company and how unbelieably decitful they were in this process I would warn everyone I could.
