They also went out into the garden to doublecheck that they had one in stock and they did and they held it for me at the front desk. While I was there, I was admiring all of the exotic plants, flowers, herbs, and trees and all the gardening accessories you may ever need. I loved seeing all their seasonal Halloween theme planters and little decorations that you can put throughout your garden to make your garden festive for Halloween. They even had small Christmas trees in stock. This is a lovely nursery with lots of beautiful plants and accessories and great employees that are roaming around ready to help you at any time. They also have their own dedicated parking lot and lots of street parking. Next time you're in Berkeley or if you need to get an exotic plant, I highly recommend visiting East Bay Nursery.

Every person I've encountered has been such a gem; they're kind and down to earth. Some of the plants are a bit on the pricey side, but they are all beautiful and well cared for, and you're supporting a small business, so it's worth it. On my last trip, I scored a beautiful Hoya Kerrii for $13.50. It was such a fantastic deal considering how many leaves it has! I also love that they have tiny plants in tiny pots, which makes you feel like you're growing something from scratch, plus they're super cute! I really love that it's POC/queer-owned and an LGBTQ+ welcoming space. The plants are on the pricier side, but it's absolutely worth it--everything is pest-free, handled with proper care, and their soil mix is great. Their new store is also fantastic--much bigger with a bright, airy feel. Will continue coming back :)

Whether you have pots/containers, your apartment's shared space, a community garden, your/neighbor's yard - or volunteer to adopt a traffic circle in Berkeley and plant natives in there. However, I made myself go because I wasn't going to throw away $80 because I was lazy. The workshop was fun! We drank wine, ate cupcakes, put together our own floral arrangement, and made friends and even had a 15% discount if we shopped. Unfortunately, since the event started a little late, it ended later than I anticipated and I had to rush home instead of shopping like I had hoped. The shop had goddess candles, cute drinking glasses, watering cans and just beautiful ass plants! I'm definitely coming back to shop.

You'll definitely notice the fertilizer smell when you walk in--not overwhelming, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive. Still, the overall atmosphere is relaxing and grounding. Such a wonderfully thought-out nursery and they have a great variety of plants, flowers & herbs. We came home with marigolds, a rosemary, parsley and chives. The quality of the herbs are superb and they've been so happy since we've planted them in our planter. We could spend an hour every weekend just walking through the greenery. Also noticed they have a coffee spot by the entrance, excited to give it a try next time we visit.
