From colorful succulents, rare tropical plants, seasonal garden vegetables, seeds and the cutest selection of pottery. Everything is priced great. Before even walking in, you're greeted with just a beautiful mural on the outside of the building. Then when you walk in, you're greeted by this beautiful greenhouse and plants all around and then you go into the actual plant shop, and it just keeps on going in terms of places to sit, a cute little coffee bar, a very beautiful altar looking space in the back and a couple of little seating areas that are super Vibey and damn gorgeous and sexy. I'm IN LOVE with a plant shop. There isn't any space in this place where you just can't be in all of anything that your eye catches. Everything is intentional and my senses just soaked everything up that this plant shop had to offer. I already knew what planted I wanted to take home with me and I think it was meant to be because it was one of the first plants that I saw before going into the plant shop. It was almost as if I was meant to go here and pick her up and be her mom. While I was there, I also picked up some incense and linen spray because, why not? I ordered a cardamom matcha, which was recommended to me by Simone and I loved my drink. I took my time and drank it in the corner of the shop just soaking up the vibes and just being around it is gorgeous green beings that give off so much positive energy. I got there first thing in the morning when it opened at 10, super calm, and I was the only one in there looking and browsing. Service was excellent and vibes are 10/10. Returning? From the entrance to the back door, the space has been meticulously curated to be welcoming, refreshing, and a place of peace & refuge. I love the variety of foliage available, and was impressed by the education that the staff offered on each of the plants available for sale. One of my favorite aspects of this shop is the partnership with local businesses, where makers can display and sell their wares in a "pass through" fashion, with all proceeds going to the small business owners. What an outstanding way to build community and to provide real estate for micro businesses. Kudos to the staff and the creative team behind Blk Girls Green House! Job well done!

I wasn't sure I really wanted or cared for a bouquet. I'm not a flower person, but everyone said to get them. I quickly went online for some inspiration and found a few designs/color schemes that I liked. I showed the pictures to Kat, and I am just awed at how absolutely gorgeous my bouquet turned out for the wedding. She went to the flower shop for the freshest and most beautiful flowers at dusk, and THEY WERE ALL SO BEAUTIFUL! Did I need the bouquet? No, but the bouquet elevated the look I had for that day. I could not imagine my special day without them. I'm so glad and grateful for Kat's creativity and blowing my expectations out of the water completely! Having recently opened at the beginning of April, it seems that not many people are aware of its location in southwest location. But it certainly is a hidden gem that is worth a visit or three! I popped into the store with my girlfriend (who'd been itching to visit it for some time now), and we were pleased to see a large array of plants neatly organized all along the walls of the store (including carnivorous plants!). Complementing the plants were plant-related apparel, artwork, and jewelry. Some body-care products (soap bars, lip balm, lotions and scrubs) and candles rounded out the selection. Overall, it's a really hip and trendy store with a good amount of things to check out! I also had the pleasure of speaking with Kat and Joe, who I believe are the storeowners. They're extremely welcoming and friendly, and we chatted for a bit on their store-opening (apparently, the store before them was a car-wash operation!). Kat let me know that there's an ongoing 25% sale on most of the plants in the shop till the end of April, so definitely come visit the store if you're interested in buying. I bought the following items: 1. Maranta Red - 6" ($18, discounted from $36 due to broken pot) 2. Pilea Moon Valley - 2" ($9.60, discounted from $12) 3. Fragranced Soap "Jade" by Ananda Body Care ($11). The plants in the store all look like they're in terrific condition so I definitely think that I'm getting great value here. Matthew, the owner was great at giving me directions: "by the Welcome San Leandro sign (going Northbound) and drive down the driveway". Found D & S Garden Supplies in an industrial building with no issue! Gardening supplies like fertilizer, hydroponic nutrients, various soil brands, plant cages (including dragonfruit) and many other items...just ask. Place has been around for 30 years, open to the public with reasonable pricing. Located in a very non-descript building in the industrial area and probably why I never knew this wonderful spot existed! I emailed and asked if they have the California Honeysuckle in stock which they did then they say we cant give it to you because it could spread a disease to oak trees (I dont have any oaks nearby just hungry caterpillars) also they do not ship. I live in California, the California honeysuckle is native to California, the butterflies that live in California lay their eggs on the plant but we cant give it to you. They must really hate money or something I dont know whats going on but I guess this is what you call a business. I later found out you can get the plant on Etsy for half the price they are charging here and they will ship it to you within 3 days! so happy caterpillar cultivating!
