So we had to get out of the house and decided to head East and see where we land. After visiting Superior and Miami we landed in Globe. Hungry, we decided to find some take out and a park to have lunch. Yelp led us here! What a fun and eclectic little burger place. They also have other things like rice bowls but we splurged and did burgers with fries and onion rings. You know when you have a great burger when sauce and juice run down the arm while eating! What a great burger with the works...I had grilled onions and wife had raw. The fries were your standard frozen ones, which is why the 4 and 5. The onion rings were big and perfectly fried and when you bite into one...the onion doesn't come out...just that bite. We noticed three people eating on their outdoor porch area and the young lady who took our order helped us find a park and packed our bags with sanitizer wipes and silverware and napkins knowing that we were going to a park. Small local business out of a home. During Covid they are open for take out and you can sit in an patio with misters. Looks like a really awesome place. Lots of reminders about comics and such, that a nurd would like. Burgers were great with fries. Service was good and pretty quick for a restaurant (it is not fast food). Parking is on the street, which is on a small street just west of the main drag in Globe. The street does have a street light so you should not miss it. You can get your burger Power Nurd Style, which I recommend, with grilled onions. This will be my go to place when coming through Globe (2-4 times per year). Nice stop. Ok Globe AZ - I see you.. stumbled on to this place by accident and am glad I'd did. It's cute and the theme is obvious from the Mario blocks to the piranha plant from the video game. It's a small cafe with a little seating inside, but there is good size patio as well. It's definitely like stepping back into the 80's. There was like techno/ house music playing. I was greeted immediately as I came in. The menu I feel is just big enough. I ordered the Raising Arizona burger with no tomato and ranch dressing on the side. I will have to admit, this is one of the best burgers I have ever had. The jalapeno pepper bacon is the key ingredient for this burger! It doesn't need any condiments. It's awesome by itself. Honestly very disappointed with the food I received. The other day I got food for a coworker and I and I ordered a moltres chicken sandwich which sounded amazing! But once I got my food it didn't have the buffalo sauce on it and the chicken tasted undercooked so I couldn't even finish eating it. It looks like they gave me the scraps of their french fries too. My coworker got the articuno chicken sandwich and it came with no sauce on it as well and barely any chicken. It was mostly breaded. The lady up front seemed a little clueless about everything. The place is small and cozy in a homey feel. (Didn't feel cramped). Service was great!!!! She was sooo nice and helpful. Hunger found us on our trip from Greer back to Vail. I quickly opened my Yelp to find a place that could satisfy the 5 mouths we had to feed and found Nurd Berger Cafe. It was very easy to find right off of the 260. The cafe had a wonderful aroma from the food they were preparing when we first walked in. The service was friendly and helpful. Four of us ordered burgers and one ordered their chicken strips. All of our meals were served hot and fresh and did not lack on flavor. We all had a side of fries and they were perfectly crunchy and hot! I ordered their iced tea and it was just ok. This place has seating inside and out. Anyways, this place is built off of a super cool old house and some of the seating is actually on the porch of that place. The staff was sweet. From my understanding it is family owned/operated. We really wanted to like this local burger spot with the sci-fi motif. I got the Raising Arizona burger, which is kind of the specialty of the house. But the pepper taste from the thick-sliced bacon totally overpowered the burger, which I could hardly taste at all. My wife was excited about the gyro but said it was kind of meh. This place is a hidden freakin gem. I've been here twice on my way through globe and both times I'd give it a 10/5. The people who work there are awesome and the food is really is incredible. Been here many times, and it has always been pleasant, this time was not. Spent most of the time slapping at flies that were buzzing around inside. There was five of us dining, and orders came out at different times, my daughter ordered the raising arizona burger which had a long hair wrapped around and cooked into the burger, she did returned it and was given a new one. The beginning of the visit there were four people working but half way through our visit the cook was having to run back and forth taking orders and passing food as well as cooking, unsure what happened to the others at that point. Looking around the place it is filthy, ketchup bottle had dried hard ketchup all over it, the floors are greasy and very dirty and looking under the tables the dirt is just swept or mopped against the wall and left there but still very visible to see. The walls are dirty, the tables even feel greasy. Cleanliness, to me, says so much about an establishment when food is involved, and it does not take much to stay on top of when done daily. Every visit up until now has been great, unsure what has happened here since, but definitely not what it was before. read more

This little "hole in the wall" burger joint is the perfect alternative to those other fast food restaurants there in Globe. We were just passing thru and didn't have time to sit and eat so I grabbed one of their Classic burgers and a Philly cheesesteak w/fries to go. They don't have a drive thru so I was able to go inside and see their "nerdy" decor. It had mainly a "Star Wars" theme with some superheroes pictures on the wall and 2 "old school" video games. The girl at the register who took my order was pleasant and even brought my order to my table when I was just sitting right across from her. Although I would've preferred ketchup, she gleefully commented that she had put ranch in my bag. I forgot to ask for ketchup so I ended up dipping my fries in ranch. What's with everyone putting ranch on everything anyhow? Both of the combo meals were tasty and fresh but my burger could've used some ketchup imo.
