Based on my first visit, De Marco's is a good choice for a meal, and I'm sure I will try it again when visiting the Globe area. The service is friendly and helpful, and the menu has a large number of things to choose from. The Chicken Parmigiana and Ravioli (Spinach and Garlic) were quite good, and the restaurant must have a good source for its rolls - they are pretty exceptional. Me and my family discovered this little gem Sunday afternoon after coming from Roosevelt Lake and wow was it yummy. The bread was fresh and made there. My son-in-law loved the marinara sauce. We had the twisted bread sticks for an appetizer, they were fresh and piping hot. I had the spaghetti and meat sauce which was really good. You could tell the sauce was not from a can. The sandwich that my son-in-law had was huge and he got the small portion. Just over all wonderful food. The service was great. I think it might have been the owner but I don't know. One of the finer restaurant establishments in Globe. This place is like a step back in time. Has a mid-80's kind of feel to it and I was impressed how clean everything is considering the age. Went on a Saturday and while the menu shows a page of lunch specials, those are only valid on weekdays. They did have a special of the day, which was spaghetti and meatballs, which turned out to be a good choice. Was kind of surprised to get five decent sized meatballs on my plate. The chicken noodle soup was decent...wasn't anything fancy, but still pretty hearty. The bread tasted freshly baked and came out nice and hot. My waitress didn't say much to me...wasn't rude or anything like that, but probably cos it was my first time and didn't know me. Globe is s pretty tight knit community and she was very engaged in the lives of other patrons and knew a lot about the lives of her customers. It was not busy at all so ..... Husband had to listen to an employee problem that he shouldn't had. Ambiance: It's was not a bad looking place. I order quite often from this restaurant and visit occasionally. I love the chicken cacciatore but I wish the chicken was chopped up instead of being served as a whole breast. Being served whole makes the meal harder to eat in my opinion. I have ordered several different items and I love the flavor of their food. Their salads are fresh and the balsamic vinaigrette is amazing. The rolls are large and very yummy. The service is hit or miss when dining in. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon on our way through town. Service wasn't horrible...it was just the one waitress and a couple of guys in the back. The pizza was decent. We got the Genoa and we always ask for it to be well done so that when you take a slice, it doesn't bend and drop all the toppings. The kicker was the Caesar salad that we ordered. What is on a Caesar salad you ask? Romain, cheese, croutons and dressing. Not here... All of the above with green and black olives, red onion and tomatoes. No. Just no...We spent 10 minutes picking off all the olives. When our pizza was delivered, she never even took the empty salad plate that was full of olives. Buyer beware... They do add a 3% 'service fee' for credit card purchases. All in all not bad, but stay away from the Cesar salad unless you love olives. read more

Stromboli. Isn't that the name of the evil puppeteer in Pinocchio? Other than the classic fairy tale, this was the first time I've ever heard of a Stromboli. So I asked our very calm-mannered waiter what stromboli's were about. It's basically an inside-out pizza. What's the difference between a stromboli and a calzone? (...insert your own clever punchline here since stromboli/calzone jokes don't exist. No really, I googled it.) From what I could gather on Wikipedia, calzones are stuffed pockets whereas a stromboli is rolled like a burrito. Feel free to comment if you have a better description. Regardless of the various combinations involving pizza dough, tomato sauce, and vegetables, the Veggie Stromboli was a real pleaser! They have other varieties for you meat-eaters and it usually involves cheese. The pizza is okay, and some of the best in the town, but don't expect good service. Make sure you order clearly, and if they repeat it back, listen carefully. Check your order before you leave. My wife ordered a pizza, half cheese, and half pepperoni. I was listening to the conversation, so I know what she said. Evidently, the manager repeated the order back as "supreme," and she confirmed. I got my pizza, and came home only to find the order was wrong. I called and asked them what to do, and I was told to bring the pizza back to the restaurant. When I got to the restaurant, I was told that the manager heard my wife say supreme, and they were not going to make it right. I don't know why they asked me bring the pizza back if they weren't going to fix it. I'm not going to argue, because I don't know what the manager actually said, but for a restaurant that's obviously struggling in a small community, that's just poor service. I ordered a small pizza, and they gave me my original order, a 16' half pep and half cheese, which is nice. But it's the last $11 they will get from me. I won't return to De Marco's, and I'll recommend people in town not to go. Such a shame. read more

Stopped in for dinner on a Sunday evening in Globe, AZ. Place was not busy, was here once before many years ago. Had a Classic Italian Sub and side salad. Son had Tortellini Alfredo. The dinner rolls are hand made as is the bread for the sub. Purchased the large sub for $1 more and took home half. The cold cuts were tasty. The capicola was spicey. Side salad was rough cut with lettuce, tomato, green olive slices and large chunks of red onion. Tortellini was reported to be good. Service was ok, server was also the cashier. Excellent! Cute Lil Italian place in Globe . Not too fancy but cute place. If you want to eat good....this is your place! I ordered the fried ravioli for appetizer and it was served with the most delicious maranara sauce. The bread was outstanding! Crispy on outside....yet so soft on the middle. I also ordered the fettuccine alfredo and it was out of this world! The sauce was homemade and definitely something to write home about!!! Now last but not least....The cheese cake! We are frequent eaters of De Marco's and enjoy multiple things on the menu, but LOVE the pizza most of all. Their salads are also very good, along with their subs. Plus the bread rolls are the best. As one might imagine, there is not an abundance of decent restaurants in Globe, Arizona (POP 7,600). Sometimes you find yourself forced to settle for the best of the worst. With that said, we were regulars at this restaurant, dining there 2 to 3 times each week when we were in town for business. At the time of our last departure from Globe, we decided to purchase some take-out food to consume when we arrived home, 106 miles away. We arrived when the restaurant opened for lunch (10:30 AM) hoping to get the freshest food of the day. We told the gal who took our order we were taking the food over 100 miles away to our home and when we questioned her, she assured us the order we were receiving was correct. As can probably be surmised at this point, when we arrived home and opened the food, we had not received that which we had ordered. Two of the three entrees were not the correct food we had ordered and the 5 "oven-fresh" dinner rolls were obviously day-old bread. The top of the rolls was relatively soft, but the bread was hard as a rock, half-way through to the bottom surface. We called and spoke with the Manager / Cook. This character freely admitted to his error, but he took very little responsibility for his incompetence (the waitress had written the order correctly, but the cook failed to read the order correctly). He told us he would give us "...some food" the next time we were there. When I told him I wanted the 2 incorrect entrees and all 5 dinner rolls replaced, he refused, telling us even though the food he gave us was the wrong food, "...it was still good food....." SAY WHAT????? I even offered to keep and return the incorrect items when we returned to Globe next week (clearly, I was not about to drive back because of THEIR mistake that same day), but he still refused to replace all of the incorrect food. He said he thought it was "fair" that he should only replace one of the entrees at the time of our next visit because the food he gave us was "...still good food". This is the point where most readers will shake their heads in disbelief right along with me... If I was the owner of this restaurant, this so-called manager would be fired TODAY. This character knows absolutely NOTHING about management or customer relations. This 1-Star Rip-Off eatery cheated us out of about $50.00 (give or take). At their cost, it would have set them back probably about $6.00 to $8.00 to do the RIGHT thing and make us happy. But the manager decided he didn't need to do the right thing and dug-in. Perhaps the most ironic aspect of this unfortunate encounter can be found on De Marco's OWN WEBSITE. Under "Services" wherein they talk about their restaurant's take-out service, De Marco's website states, "De Marco's Italian Restaurant provides convenient carryout services for those times when you need to grab your Italian food on the go. Just give us a call to place your order; we'll have it ready and waiting when you arrive, and IF IT ISN'T 100 PERCENT ACCURATE, WE'LL MAKE IT RIGHT (emphasis added). We look forward to serving you!" Really? Have these people not read their own website? Or are those simply empty words aimed at trying to keep the doors open during the current infectious health crisis? So, where does that leave us? Beyond this very negative review (and the multitude of negative reviews I will post on all other active review sites), I personally interact with anywhere between 15 - 25 people each day I am in Globe for work. Because of the nature of my professional practice, people typically listen to that which I say. I will make it a point to tell every single person I encounter about the type of service we received, the type of service they might expect to receive, and the way they might be ripped-off as we were if they make the same error in judgment we did by patronizing this restaurant. I will let those folks decide whether they want to spend their money and take a chance they might have a negative experience similar to that which we experienced. In summary: (1) The mistake was theirs; they freely admitted to it. (2) It would have cost them a very small amount of money to do the RIGHT thing and make a frequent, repeat customer happy. (3) The manager refused to do the RIGHT thing. (4) They have lost us as customers and they will lose as many other potential patrons as might be driven away by me telling and re-telling of our experience with them. We saw this place as we were driving through town and decided to try it out for supper. I had the DeMarco Special Salad and my husband had the spaghetti and meatball special. Both meals came with a delicious, huge hot roll and butter. The portions were generous. My salad was filled with roast beef and grilled chicken that was seasoned perfectly. My husband got five big meatballs with his spaghetti, as well as a side salad. I hope we'll be able to come back when we're in the area again. read more

This family business has also recently expanded ,to offer a " sister" restaurant , with the same great menu,in Superior Az. They have great pizza here by any standard. I love that they offer proper Greek toppings like GREEN OLIVES, spinach , fresh tomatos,garlic & anchovies! So unexpected in this tiny town! Dont worry -- they also have pepperoni .... The pastas are also very nice , house made sauces( of course)and come with fresh baked bread & a deluxe salad ( lots of " toppings" , so ask if you are " picky"). They always offer a fish o' the day , I can vouch that the salmon is worthwhile. Then there is dessert . No frozen cannolis here! Crispy pastry& Freshly piped-in filling, moments before it comes to you--- also Lemonchello liquor in the cooler---am I in New York?Sometimes I stop in ,just for the cannollis to-go.They also have about 6-8 Bryers icecream flavors, including Spumoni. They have beer wine & liquor too! This restaurant is family run , always a family member is there, ( maybe in the kitchen , tho) it seems they really care. I guess my only suggestion would be , that the plastic checkerd( sticky) tablecloths seem " cheap". The amosphere says " cheap pizza parlour" but the menu prices & offerings say "fine dining".There are so few " special occasion " places in Globe---- this place could step up the decor/ lighting just a little and be a real place for a date& other "special" times. We stopped here for lunch and had a wonderful experience. Our waitress, Camerita, was very sweet and helpful. The food was delicious and the quantities generous. The hot rolls were out of this world, as was the garlic cheese bread. There were four of us, and we ordered lasagna, garlic spinach ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, and minestrone soup. And, yes, we took doggie bags home with us. Everything was topnotch and we will go back. If I had to suggest one improvement, it would be to have Diet Coke on the menu. I'm not a Pepsi fan. My husband is a caesar salad and Chicken Piccata aficionado so that is what he ordered at our recent visit to DeMarco's. The Caesar salad had TWO kinds of olives, tomatoes, and ranch dressing. It was exactly like my garden salad but with romaine lettuce. The "chicken piccata" came with cut up chicken pieces, marsala sauce and mushrooms. We had the waitress take it back to the kitchen and they reassured her that this was chicken piccata. No lemon sauce, no capers. The bread was good. We won't be going back. read more

A nice place to eat Italian, considering the population of the town! We were traveling through AZ on our way to NM, and stayed here overnight. We had a half carafe of the house Chianti, which was very good. For appetizers, we had the fried calamari and shrimp cocktail. The calamari was superb, but the shrimp cocktail was warm and rubbery, like they just took it out of the freezer and ran it under hot water to defrost. They were small to medium in size. The cocktail included the six shrimp and cocktail sauce, but they were priced higher than the calamari. Pass on the shrimp cocktail. Our main course was spaghetti and meatball for the wife and lasagna for me. Of course we shared. The meal came with a small side salad and two big, warm rolls with butter. Portions were ample, and we took some back to the motel, where we had a small fridge, for later. Both main courses were very tasy, but the sauce on the spaghetti was only average. If you either live in Globe, or are traveling through it, and have a hankering for Italian, try this place, as we are sure you will like the food and the reasonable prices.
