best discount fabric store in the city as far as I can tell. They have many many options in a great number of categories, shirting, denim, linen, canvas, synthetics, and most rolls are 8$/yd or under. Just an invaluable resource in an otherwise totally predatory price inflated textile scene in NYC. read more

The worst staff I'm not sure who the owner is but the two Indian guys , middle aged ARE SO RUDE. They don't want to help you look for what your looking for, they have an attitude when u ask questions , if im shopping for fabric it's like a consultation why are u so upset and upset bc you have to answer, I stopped him from being rude and said I'll take my money elsewhere they lithad no business. Whoever business this is they are running it to the ground I will not be back I prefer to go all the way to the city if that's where I'll get better treatment read more

I had a reminder in my phone for a couple of days reminding me to buy gold thread to finish up a pair of jeans that I was working on. I just so happened to be finishing my weekly doubles from the Trini shop and after unsuccessfully ducking into a number of "this and that" shops, I finally Yelped and found this place literally 3 doors down. It's very easy to miss. The shop is tiny but packed full of the essentials. The most important part of this shop is the prices; they are relatively cheap; very cheap. It's quite refreshing to get a good deal on anything in New York. I'll likely pop back in here for fabrics. I simply found my thread and it was 3 200 yard polyester spools for $1....no complaints. The staff seemed pretty friendly as well. Support your local small businesses. read more

Smaller space with not much of a selection in terms of variety of fabric types and colors but you'll get what's there for very cheap, and for that matter, it is worth a visit to see what they have. The guy cutting my fabric was super helpful, speedy and nice, so overall a positive experience! read more

The staff here is very friendly and helpful. It's a tiny story but it's packed with all kinds of textiles. I often go I search of African mudcloth and supplies for sewing projects. Prices are reasonable and even though it's a small shop they take credit cards no problem. They have all sorts of fabrics available, a crafters dream! read more

The store is jam-packed with cool fabrics, everything you could want from african prints to linen to gingham... A real gem. Go there and get some doubles at the Trini place across the street! read more

They sold me fabric to make masks for medical workers!! Super kind and helpful staff!! Support them

Everyone who works here is kind and helpful. I'm so happy to have a quality fabric store near by.

I stumbled upon this small but decent place. The prices are reasonable and affordable. The two men are very nice and helpful. There aren't many fabric stores in Brooklyn and this one is great enough to stop by and check out. It's small but they have what I'm looking for. read more

As an avid sewer and lover of fabric, it is a joy to be able shop here instead of having to trek to Manhattan. always want to buy way more than I came for. read more

Love this place!!! I have to put myself on time out from this store!! LOL. Very friendly and helpful staff and great prices!!

You peruse the bargain fabrics outside. Some are garish, some are actually decent and useful. Inside, the air-conditioned main store is packed to the rafters with fabrics of all sorts. The selection is decent for the size, and there is a good amount of African prints. You circle the store in about 20 minutes. You've got a special project in mind and grab a cow-print canvas and some flashy African print, a number of buttons, and some foam. The foam is pricier than most everything, but then again, it's always oddly expensive everywhere. However the staff is friendly, and offer you some better prices on the fabric. Awesome. You'll be back. The prices warrant some more arts and crafts. If you're looking for something in particular or they run out, they might be hiding the backup in the basement. Just ask, the staff is friendly. Surprisingly they don't have upholstery needles. Just about everything else (not a huge button selection, but ok) -ribbons, thread, needles, grommets, etc... It's awesome having this store in the neighborhood. read more

Small fabric shop on Fulton (between Nostrand and NY Avenues). Very nice guys run the shop and were very helpful. Bought some pretty cotton gauze fabric to make quick summer skirts for a very cheap price (mostly $3 - $8/yard). Got nice deals on notions too (ribbons, thread, elastic, etc).. The merchandise here is very basic and because of the small size of the store you won't have tons to choose from, but there are some nice African print fabrics here. Mostly polyesters but other gems if you're willing to search. I only needed about 15 minutes to get through the whole place and it was a pleasant little journey. There are so few fabric stores left in Brooklyn that I'm happy to find any that I can, no matter how small. I'm happy to give them my business and keep them open and thriving in Bed-Stuy. read more

The staff were friendly and they had a wide range of textiles and great prices, not a huge selection of print cottons which was what I was after but plenty of cool African prints. They seemed open to bartering on some items too. read more

Super cheap and very friendly staff. They gave me a great deal off of their already cheap fabrics. Pretty good selection for a little store too. read more

Nur Jahan on Fulton between Nostrand and New York Avenues is wonderful! They have a huge selection of fabric types and colors and are very quick to help there customers. I went in today to buy 30 feet of burlap fabric and 10 feet of black fabric for a build I'm working on. The price was really great and Babu even threw in a discounted pair of fabric scissors! Best fabric store around. Good vibes, good customer service and a great location. Check them out ! read more

Considering the size of the store, they have a very good selection & prices on most things are very reasonable. If you're a regular customer/buying a lot they will often give you a better deal. Definitely worth shopping here with an open mind to find creative solutions for your project rather than traveling in hope of a bigger selection. Staff is always friendly & one time when I returned some fabric with a defect neither of of noticed when I'd originally bought it, they gave me a new piece & let me have the original one as well. read more

I called to ask if they accepted credit cards b/c I only needed one item and what was the minimum I could put on my card. The guy who answered the phone said $5 or $10. I asked which was it and he replied just come in and hung up the phone. Yeah, good luck with them. read more

I love coming here! The people are great and the fabric selection is amazing. I have never been unsatisfied by my time there. I always come in looking for a specific thing, and not only finding it, but finding every thing else that I didn't even know I wanted. I would recommend heading here for all your sewing needs, because their fabric and notion selection is superb, and they honestly have fabrics that rival (and are even better) than some of the stores in the garment district, and it doesn't hurt that they are right in Brooklyn, a short walk away from my place. read more
