I've picked up crocheting during the pandemic because who else hasn't picked up some crafty hobby while we were stuck inside. We got there right at opening and the employees were so helpful since I was trying to find a specific yarn. They also gave a couple tips on how to get started on knitting! If I'm back in Brooklyn I would definitely come back. (Also extra stars because they were playing the new Harry Styles album the same week it was released and it made me feel even more at home.)

Make Workshop is an fantastic space for anyone interested in handcraft. Whether you're learning the…read moreropes of the sewing machine, putting the finishing touches on your first quilt, or looking to create something new, this studio will make you feel right at home. They stock a variety of quilting and fashion fabrics (including gorgeous prints) as well as all the notions you need for a complete sewing kit. They also carry supplies for punchneedle, embroidery, cross stitch, needlepoint, sashiko, quilting, dyeing, knitting, crocheting, and kid-friendly crafts. (I definitely didn't realize half these crafts existed before walking into the store.) Pretty much everything you find in the studio corresponds to a workshop, so if you see something that interests you but don't know where to start, you can sign up for a class! I've taken the Intro to Sewing Machine course, Intro to Embroidery, and a rug hooking workshop, and have left each with an amazing creation (and the skills to make more)! I'm hoping to take some of their fashion and home-sewing courses soon. I definitely recommend stopping by!

Now that I'm all settled I decided to try the Intro to Sewing class ($80: supplies included) here & I am SO glad I did!! Diana Rupp, the owner was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and open! I showed up there with absolutely no knowledge of sewing or how to work a sewing machine. But if you come with interest and an excitement to learn, you'll enjoy it. She gave us hand outs with everything we needed to know, took us through all supplies for basic sewing, taught us the parts of the sewing machine and how to thread a sewing machine. I didn't even know there was a whole process even before beginning to use one?! Lol. She went at our pace, helped us each time we made a mistake, all while having a regular conversation. None of us ever felt left behind or stressed. I was beyond excited when the class was finished. I bought some supplies from her store and even Diana's sewing book (which I highly recommend if you're dedicated). I can't wait to practice on this new hobby and make it my own! They also have tons of other classes available if you want to learn other techniques. Already eyeing the next class I'll be taking: embroidery :)) Love love loved my experience!

The team arrived on time (actually earlier than expected which I was happy about), came fully prepared, and handled the installation with impressive precision--especially given how high and challenging the windows were to access. The final result is absolutely stunning. The shades completely transformed the space--adding both elegance and functionality. They fit perfectly, operate smoothly, and elevate the overall look of the room in a way I didn't even anticipate. What really stood out was the attention to detail and care taken to ensure everything was installed flawlessly. The installers were respectful of my home, efficient, and clearly experienced in what they do. Highly recommend this company if you're looking for high-quality work and a beautiful end result. I then sold coins and was robbed also. I walked there with 39lbs of items Lou told me he's interested in. Lo and behold, two days after he said that and I lugged it all in. He "no longer has a need for those items". He offered me $50 for a certain coin out of my package. Tried to take it before his employee could value my package. I told him no, leave it with the group of my items and do not separate anything so I can keep a running total. Then he no longer wanted that coin any longer either. I hope he retires and does us all a favor. There's a reason life and nature hasn't been kind to the old geezer. Charlie, one of his employees is actually a decent guy although Lou yells at him and tells him what to do. After waiting an hour for Charlie to arrive, at Lou's direction to wait so he can price the items, Lou just barked orders. God what a POS.
