My breakfast at Nuno's Cafe in Avalon Park was a solid experience from start to finish! Reliable, friendly, and consistent. Restaurant is very clean and has a welcoming vibe. Our server was attentive and friendly, making sure we were well taken care of throughout the morning. We ordered the Veggie Omelet, which came with home fries and toast. Omelet was enough to split with 2 people but got extra home fries. Food tasted fresh and hit the spot. The omelet was cooked well and full of veggies. The home fries had a good flavor to them but were on softer side as I like mine pretty crispy. It was quality comfort food. We also tried the Regular French Toast, which was soft and fluffy. Stopped in for a weekday brunch and was really pleased with my experience at Nuno's! It is very much a local vibe and it felt very cozy. Our server was also awesome! Super kind, attentive, and great. Since it is in Avalon Park, the parking isn't great, but we were able to snag a parallel parking spot. For food, I got the Bagelini with cheddar cheese and an Asiago bagel - loved it!! The bagel was still super fluffy even after being panini-pressed. My boyfriend got the Chicken and Waffles (a special they had) and loved the flavor of the chicken! They also started us out with a little fried pastry that we thought was decent, but not something we particularly loved. Prices were on par with just about every other brunch spot we love! Beautiful outside area and the weather was perfect to sit outside. My pistachio cappuccino came out nice and hot and not too sweet. Enjoyed it a lot. Had the egg whites and grits - my eggs were ok and my grits were a tad disappointing- somewhat watery so I didn't eat them sadly. The fresh OJ was delicious. O tried some of my husband's sausage and really enjoyed it. I would probably give it another try and just pick something else. read more

They took our order in a timely manner, then after 15-20 minutes our waitress told us that she thought she had placed our order before the group of 12 that was inside. In reality, the order was not placed. The order came in approx 15 min incorrectly. 3 parties came & went within 5 min, when she told them the wait would be 45 minutes, because they are short in the kitchen. I had a delicious breakfast here after landing at MCO! To start, complimentary sweet dough croquettes were brought to the table. They were warm and fresh and had great flavor. After looking over the menu, I decided on the bagel ink sandwich. The NYer in me was saying no as bagels aren't good anywhere other than NY...but I was intrigued! Think a BEC....but PRESSED. It was so good! Did it taste like a NY bagel? No. But it was tasty. Everything went together so well. The bacon, the cheese, and the egg..so good! It is their signature item here and I can see why! We went in for breakfast after work. About 20 of us. Our server, Ashley, was by far one of the best servers I've met in my time dining out. Even with a huge group, her energy was so positive and motivating. It is weird to say motivating but the food tasted better. However one time she forgot about me for about an hour. I had my dog with me & didn't go inside. The owner was okay, but I heard he can be rude. Avalon Park's best brunch is at Nuno's Cafe. Located in downtown Avalon, this cafe is a small storefront with inside and outside seating. I was greeted by Natalia and it wasn't long until we were seated outside on a beautiful, cool morning. Our server was Ashley, she was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were given some warm croquettes for the table as she read us the specials. I ordered a dry mimosa to start (you can choose between dry or sweet) and it is served in a cute little champagne flute. Usually I get the ever popular bagelini, but to switch it up I chose one of the specials which was a bacon, egg and cheese croissant served with their home fries. Soon the food was flowing while Frank Sinatra was playing in the background My croissant was just so light and fluffy accompanied by crispy bacon and melty cheese on a fresh egg this sandwich was absolutely perfect!! We brought our friends here and they had great meals. The bagelini did not disappoint and the eggs benedict was perfect. Please note that since egg prices have soared, they are adding a surcharge for any dish with egg. There is a sign on the door that indicates this so please factor this in when reviewing your bill. This place is worth the wait for brunch and the staff is ever so delightful. I am a huge fan and will be back soon! read more

With all of the buzz around the new places in Avalon Park, Nuno's deserves some credit for serving the community well. It's mostly known as a breakfast spot but, they have some decent lunch/dinner options too. I have to be in the mood for breakfast. We don't go here option with the Marketplace offering a bigger variety, or because I have to pass Taco Bell to get here, but when we do, we enjoy. On this visit, I had the Nuno's favorite panini and fries. It was friggin' delicious. The fries were a little thick for my taste, but they were fresh and delicious. They also had Sysco Ketchup, and I may burn in hell for saying this as a native Pittsburgh'er, but I like Sysco ketchup better than Heinz! I said it! If you're in Avalon, definitely consider Nuno's, especially for breakfast. You can sit outside and kind of see the lake over 2 rows of parallel parked cars. read more

Threee good stars for a yummy French toast and that's it! We arrived a little before 9 AM on Sunday. I was very excited to try this place as it's nearby the house and I love mom and pop businesses to support. Unfortunately, the service and the food just missed out today. First off, the waitress shamed me because I had a new baby out who is six weeks and she asked if my baby should be out so young. So that just kind of ruined it for me. We were sitting outside and I had the stroller positioned so that no one could see him unless I took him out. It seems like a lot of people knew her, a lot of the locals, but she was not very nice to us. We ordered the chocolate chip pancakes for our toddler, and when the pancakes came out, there were only chocolate chips on the top. We asked if they were not inside and she said they thought they were, and she just walked away. So, our toddler just ate the chocolate chips and not the pancakes. That was horrible. She never even returned, and offered for them to remake it with the chocolate chip in the batter. My husband got a bagel sandwich and it looks like I could've made it better at home. We asked for the potatoes on the side and they were extremely greasy and had no taste. They were also cold when they came out. Overall, rather go to a chain restaurant for breakfast around here or try another diner. The service was very slow and horrible. I also ordered a cappuccino and it tasted a lot like Just steamed milk. There was a young gentleman that served three young ladies that arrived after us. They got their food, coffee, and water way before we did. He was a young gentleman who looked like he worked very hard, and was very helpful. He even gave them the specials. Specials? I didn't even know they had specials. I ordered the Nutella French toast, which was really good, but it didn't come with anything and you have to get everything on the side. I did get a side of eggs and it looks like one little scrambled egg, it was pretty pathetic. I didn't even get photos I was not very happy. This cafe is a jewel and a keeper for sure. Stopped here for breakfast. They have outside seating we sat down and we're greeted by an awesome staff member along with a couple of sweet dough croquettes that were out of this world. We ordered the special of the morning it was a skillet breakfast with bacon, sausage, jalapenos and potatoes. It came with two eggs made to order. The food isn't what I expected (in a good way). It's a lot more fancy brierpatch style than normal breakfast but at nuno's you also don't have the headache of waiting in line for an hour and you aren't rushed out. I've been living in Avalon for a few years now and Nuno's has always been the place to go if you want a good breakfast and great service! They truly treat you like family and cook like it too ;) I've tried lunch I think once before but breakfast is their specialty in my opinion. Even with Uber Eats, their breakfast travels well and is still so delicious! I love to sit in their little patio area and enjoy the downtown area and views of the lake. My favorite food here will have to be their french toast. ANY of the flavors you try you won't be disappointed! You get the high quality flavors at a place that makes you feel like you're at home.
