Our family had dinner tonight here and it was fantastic! We had mussels, haggis, lamb, steak pie, fish and chips and the soup were outstanding! The chefs did a fabulous job and we truly felt like it was a great experience for all of us! If you are in town, come visit! We had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was out of this world!!! Liam and Tabs took great care of our table! Freaking fabulous experience and food! Thank you to this restaurant!!

We really enjoyed our meal here. Reservations were slim Pickens but we were able to make a reservation here. Looked at the menu and still not terribly excited other than the reviews were good. We all started with the Skink (smoked fish chowder). You must try this. It is so much better than I could have imagined. Husband had the Highland Chicken and loved it. Brother in law had the pan fried Salmon and it was delish. Staff was super friendly.

A local recommended I come here because she said she was friends with the owner. She said the owner took great pride in his restaurant and service, and I can see why! The service was top notch. The servers were friendly and seemed excited about the menu and what they had to offer. I made a reservation, and I am glad I did. This place was busy at 7pm. This is definitely a popular spot in the area for tourists and locals. This is not a touristy restaurant though. I had the cauliflower soup which was perfectly seasoned and came out piping hot. The scotch pie was excellent and the beef was tender and seasoned well. The green beans had a nice snap to them as well and were not overcooked. The portions were HUGE, so keep that in mind. The cheese cake was not to sweet and not too dense. It was an excellent cheesecake. I would highly recommend coming here if you are in Inverness. I would recommend making a reservation as this is a busy and popular spot.

For the first time trying haggis, my experience eating here was awesome. Their haggis is the heart, liver and lungs of sheep with mashed potatoes. For the main course, I had the pan fried sea bass with cous-cous. For dessert, we had the chocolate torte and sticky toffee pudding which were AMAZING.

Visiting Inverness, I was on the lookout for a local food, and this place had really good reviews. Convenient location - right opposite the castle makes it easily accessible. Having failed my first attempt to eat there, as I haven't booked in advance and it was very busy, I had to come back the next day. The menu is varied - all sorts of meat, fish, and veggie dishes. There is also lunch menu, friendlier for your pocket. I went with a promotion of three Scottish tapas for just under £12 pounds, and honestly, this was more than filling.

Loved this place! This was probably one of the best meals I've had while in Scotland! The sea bass was excellent! Their cheesecake was also great! Such a cute restaurant and a great location! We would definitely recommend! (Reservations are encouraged unless you go later and they have an open table)

1/2 pint of syraberry lemon cider. Yum.

Service was terrible and the food was very plain. Ambiance was fine, but the servers were so rude and unprofessional I would never go back.

There are very few words. Just eat here. The one downside is the service, they weren't super attentive. It the food! Oh the food!

I had the Cullen Skink (I was a bit skeptical) but it was delicious- fish chowder with lots of potatoes.

You'll see. Downstairs: Never been in, seems a bit 'Local' In the sense of 'Royston Vasey' rather than ' Rovers Return' though. But upstairs: A total gem. A 100% Music dive of the best sort. Bar is tiny, but still hosts some of the best LIVE music to be had in Inverness and beyond. True sometimes its comedically awful. But sometimes its totally amazing. You never know what you're gonna get, and that's part of the fun, More hits than misses in my experience. Place can be quiet (but is never empty), or it can be completely packed out. It has a totally amazing friendly buzz either way. One day you'll get a 6 piece Death Metal band, next it could be some grey haired R&B growler, or a Cornish folk duo. At the weekends, don't be surprised to see 18 year old Goths drinking snakebite next to bearded kilties with Guiness who - but for the smoking ban - would doubtless be chuffing away on pipes. Mucially its mainly quieter Folky type stuff during week nights, and touring wannabes and up and coming bands playing the weekends. The size of the place means that the acts are mixed in with everyone else. Friendly, scruffy, and very chilled out, this is the bar where the Proclaimers hung out before they made it big. I almost always pass through when I'm out on the town planning to head to Hootenanny or wherever, and quite often, end up staying put.

The upstairs pub has all you want if you like to hang out with a few pals over a pint or four…read more there is live music over the weekends thae staff are great and the atmosphere is warm great place for students.
