It's a cute restaurant. Their menu, in my opinion, was more unique/authentic then other Mexican restaurants. Service was quick and the food was good. There was a huge party there when we were there, so it was pretty loud, but seems it would have been quite otherwise. They even have a small gift shop.

Nuevo Acapulco has good food, great drinks and is always a nice time. There is a great patio with a bar that is really fun to sit at and enjoy a meal or some drinks and appetizers. The food is fresh and authentic. Try the guacamole made at your table to your liking, so fresh and delicious. My favorite drink is the jalapeño margarita- so good!

I used to come here for years! We decided to try it again after so long and since they moved to their new location. The quality of food has really gone down. Most items we ordered were bland and tasted nothing like we used to get. It was disappointing since we came to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant was pretty empty the day we went. We were seated in a back corner. They give complimentary chips & salsa. For the birthday they put a sombrero on and staff comes to sing while you enjoy complimentary chips with whipped cream on them. Staff were friendly, but the food quality was the issue. I don't know what happened but it did not taste like it used to. Even the chips they give didn't feel fresh. Spacious restaurant and lots of Mexican flair with the artwork. Free parking.

This is my family's favorite restaurant on the Wiest side of Cleveland. I've never had a bad experience at this place. Ever. I got the Charley's burger here today and it was excellent. The sweet and savory flavor combinations worked very well and were properly balanced. One of the best burgers I've had in my life. I would definitely order it again.

We have eaten at Nuevo many times. Although not recently. We took a chance on getting a table on Friday, right at dinner time. I was happily surprised that there was no waiting. Was also surprised to be told to just pick a sit anywhere. We order drinks and dinner. My husband had a margarita and. I had homemade sangria. The sangria was super sweet and lacking any sign of fruit at all. Our dinners came very promptly. We both ordered Seafood Chimichangas. They were just mediocre. Seemed lacking in much seafood. Several bites were just dough and cheese. I finished neither my drink or my entree. Something has changed in This restaurant. They used to be the best. Now, I doubt we will return. Whatever has gone wrong, I hope they figure it out.

The food is 5 stars, I took one away due to no wiggke room on their menu. I am pescatarian and couldnt add shrimp to anything on special. Just shrimp and fish CANNOT be added. Me, being economically wise, would like to enjoy the happy hour specials and could not. Food always tastes a bit less amazing when you have to pay full price and its happy hour.

Food is authentic and fresh. Service is friendly and swift. I went with a friend for dinner and we split a combo. I tend to forget to snap a pic, but honestly there's food you look at, and then there's food you eat. We ate all of it. Oh also, they bring out salsa and chips. I don't know how or why but the salsa was noteworthy.

***1ST TIME EXPERIENCE*** Greeted & seated immediately for 2 on a Saturday afternoon. Didn't seem busy at all surprisingly. We were given the option to choose where we sat. It's pretty spacious to say. They also have a bar and their own corner store to sell jewelry, etc. FOOD was delicious all around Nothing to complain about. I'm not familiar with traditional Mexican cooking but I can say this place was great. Ordered CHICKEN TAQUITOS (size portion couldn't be beat), SHRIMP CEVICHE, PORK CARNITAS ENCHILADAS and TACOS AL PASTOR. All 10/10! Definitely added as a favorite.

Perfect place for an afternoon margarita. Make it a Jumbo! This place has been around for some time. Food is always hot and good quality. Atmosphere is neighborhood casual with friendly staff. Service is personal and prompt. I had the enchilada special with chicken. Tasty and enough for two meals. Go with the refried beans. They are the best. Marg was tasty with salt rim slushy, on the rocks or just plain available. All great quality flavor. When they say Jumbo they mean it. I love that they give each person an individual salsa dish to go with chips. Double dip to your delight.

I did make a few notes on the day of, so hopefully those suffice! So about 12 others from my foodie group and I dined at Salmon Dave's for a group lunch in April of 2025. The interior is cute and decorated like a fish joint off the coast of Florida. We had made reservations beforehand, but it was clear they were still understaffed. It took a bit too long for our food to arrive. I think we waited about 45 minutes for our mains to arrive. We all munched on the free bread while we waited. The bread was okay - standard white crusty bread. The service was also pretty good. Our waters were always kept pretty full but our waitress wasn't much for conversation - just kept things pretty serious. I ordered fried fish for my main (I am pretty picky about how I like fish prepared). My fried fish dinner was massive! I have never seen a fried fish as big as the one I had at Salmon Dave's. It was good too which is why my review is 4 stars instead of 3 or 3.5 stars. The coleslaw is a liquidy mush of nothing - don't bother getting this. In short, I paid about $40 after tax and tip for my fish fry lunch and while it took a while to arrive and I wasn't impressed with the sides, my friends and I had a good time! I was very impressed with the fish too!

The facility is far bigger than I thought it would be. They have a central restaurant with multiple party centers on either side. It's a really BIG facility. New, modern, and quite attractive. With plenty of convenient parking. The wall of the restaurant that faces Cleveland Hopkins Airport is all glass. It affords you quite an impressive view of the airport and the planes landing. The staff we met was pleasant and efficient. Our server, Mina, did an excellent job all night. If there was a weak point, it would be the food. It was not bad (I'm trying to be kind); it was just uninspired, limited, and not really well prepared. Because they do not offer bread for the table our only option was to order the "Soft Pretzel". It arrived badly overcooked, crunchy not soft, and even boardering on burnt. The charcuterie board was OK, but uninspired. I ordered the "Lemon Chicken" which was a full half chicken in a reasonably good sauce. But the meat was dry and it came only with brussel sprouts (yuk!). My wife had the "Walleye" which she simply said was "okay"... oh well. Our guests weren't any more impressed than we were. I will say our coffee and "Pot de Creme" were very good... thank goodness. All in all, our overall experience was "meh"... just "meh". Sorry - really probably should be 3.5

We dropped in for Happy Hour, looking for cocktails and a few bites, and were immediately struck by the well-appointed space. The runway views at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport added an unexpected layer of entertainment--watching planes take off and land while toasting 14 years of marital bliss felt like the perfect backdrop. We started strong with a French 75 and an Old Fashioned--both expertly crafted, but that Old Fashioned? Smooth, balanced, and memorable enough to set the tone for the entire evening. Wednesday happens to be Wing Day ($2 whole wings), and we took full advantage. We sampled Buffalo, Sweet & Tangy BBQ, Lemon Pepper Dry Rub, and the undeniable star of the show: Garlic Parmesan. Each had its own personality, but that Garlic Parmesan was simply elite. Service was impeccable--Emily was attentive without being intrusive, making sure our experience flowed as effortlessly as the cocktails. Speaking of which, round two brought a Cosmo alongside a repeat of that Old Fashioned...because when you find the right note, you stay in that key. For food, we shared the French Dip Baguette--shaved prime rib, provolone, horseradish aioli, and au jus done right--and paired it with the Mega Crunch Fries, elevated with sea salt, rosemary, and a light truffle oil drizzle. Simple menu items, executed with intention. We closed the evening the same way we began--together, with one final round of Old Fashioneds. A Happy Hour well spent. A celebration well honored. A 14-year journey still taking off.

Unfortunately, they couldn't put us together, but we made it work. The location has a spectacular view of Cleveland's skyline. Even with some haze, it was lovely. The food was a hit with everyone. We started with the clothesline bacon and a cinnamon roll. It was perfect for our table. The bacon was not candied as described. It was good, but not something I'd order again for the price. 5 "ok" sugared bacon. The presentation was cute and the blueberry preserves were tasty. The sliced baguette toast was way too hard (break a tooth hard). My Florentine Benedict was cooked perfect,y. I opted for the fruit instead of the potatoes. I didn't realize it would be a $4.00 add on, but it was fresh and all the fruit was perfect. Others had the chicken and waffles, with a side of blueberry sausage, a smash burger and various yummy cocktails. My pomegranate mimosa was delicious and the plump blackberry was scrumptious. The family wall of pictures was a great tribute to life, family, love and Michael T Joseph who sadly died too young. It's a wonderful place to go with friends and family. Atmosphere was a wood, rustic, whiskey barrel feel and the food was great. Came back this year, and it was probably the most brutal restaurant experience I've had in a while. So Char is now called Avo Mexican, but they didn't change the atmosphere to replicate a Mexican place. It's still whiskey themed- with signs slapped on the old logo. They still have some of the old menu items from Char- which is so confusing too. When we walked in I asked the host if the bar was open seating. He said "oh I don't know" and walked away. We just sat at the bar since he didn't come back. We asked the Bartender what happened to Char and he said the owners wanted a rebrand. But it looked like a whiskey bar still....they didn't rebrand anything. I got a marg and my guy asked for a Mexican beer they used to have. Bartender said we haven't had that in a year. So they got rid of all their Mexican beers....? Even though they are now a Mexican place? So he ended up getting a Coors Light. My Marg lacked any sweetness or Agave. It was tequila and lime juice- poor bartender was struggling with 4 bar guests. It was kinda sad. I got a taco salad and my guy got a burger. He used to get the burger with fries, but now that it's Mexican, they only have chips. We had chips and guac for an app, so that was super annoying. Fries used to be really good. And who wants a burger without fries? Place wasn't busy, but our food took 35 minutes. Bartender kept apologizing and saying the kitchen was slammed. It clearly wasn't, I'm sure the cooks were adjusting to a new menu. Food was okay. Used to be really good, but I wouldn't recommend anymore. I guess they close at 8pm some days, because around 7:40 when we just had gotten our food, the bartender said it's last call. We were kinda laughing that they did a last call during normal dinner hours. My fiancé was considering getting another beer after dinner, but I guess they were closing...so weird. I've never seen a place close at peak dinner hours. No idea why they rebranded it. Confusing signage, food is not good anymore, drinks are bad, atmosphere doesn't make sense, menu is lackluster, service and kitchen are lacking, hours are bad. Sucks to write this, but I 100% will not be returning.
