I have been to Mai on several occasions, first out of convenience, but then I realized she does…read moregreat work. The first time I went to her, I was with a friend, and both of us were extremely pleased. My friend would have continued to see Mai but she is in boot camp. Since October 2014, I have seen her at least 5 times for a Shellac Manicure. She uses the brand Gelish on me but has other brands of shellac polish in addition to regular polish. The Gelish polish stays on my nails for at least 4 weeks. Even though her shop fits 4 people at most, it is just her and her mom (Katie) who are there. By having only two workers at a time, it reduces echoes of other customers and the employees are able to focus on their current customer. She offers affordable prices on manicures (price varies) and pedicures ($25) and everything used is sanitized. The past few times I had Mai paint different designs & polish on each nail, her price for designs are an addition $3. Her skills and creativity always show when it comes to painting nails and I am always proud to show them off to who ever will see. PROS - plenty of parking - clean, quiet & intimate - speak English very well - creative nail/design ideas - affordable, patient - variety of polish including gel polish - easy to get a hold of for appointments CONS - small salon - by appointment only - she and Katie are very busy! (it was a simple star pattern) Again it was cute for a 50$ set but it being 100$ was absurd. I definitely should have done my research with the prices, that's on me, but for 100$ the set should be flawless. That alone is enough to be reasonably annoyed but not only that, it lasted for 6 days till it started lifting. By day 12 all of my nails had popped off, mind you I do not work a very manual job they came off on their own. When I went to call, they said they had only a seven day policy when on their website it says a 14 day policy. No partial refund, no gluing them back on when they started to lift, and no compensation.
