Great experience here today!…read more My Television went out and thankfully I purchased an extended warranty on it because it is 3 months over past the manufacturer's warranty. When I called to file a claim they gave me three options and this was one of my options and I literally chose them because the owner seemed knowledgeable and nice when I visited with him on the phone before coming in. We set up a drop off for me (they come to you if you prefer, I just preferred to drop mine off. When I arrived, the owner Ray was just as nice in person as he was on the phone. I felt confident in his ability to determine what is wrong with my television. Ray helped me unload the unit out of my truck and get it into his store and then he made out a tag for it and gave me the matching tag and I was on my way. He told me I should hear from him as early as Monday as to what is wrong with it and what he estimates, recommends or even IF he recommends we fix it...we will see!

Despite being the only customer in the store I received zero acknowledgment from either of the two employees. No, "How are you today? Can I help you find anything?" I approached them and said "Hello", and described what I was looking for. The older man volunteered to show me where the irons and accessories were. He informed me that the tips change every 2 years and that they wouldn't have one to fit my iron. I was fine with that and decided, since I only use the iron every 2 years or so, that I would go ahead and buy a new one and an extra tip for the new one in case I lost the tip again. The old man must not have understood, because he continued to tell me about how the manufacturers change the tips every couple of years. I attempted again, to tell him of the decision I had made about my purchase which would have left the information he was giving me, over and over, a moot point. He just couldn't seem to understand that I would be purchasing a new iron AND spare tips for that new iron. I made a final attempt to clarify what I needed to which he replied, "Well, what I'm trying to tell you! If YOU'LL listen..." and then proceeds to tell me the same information AGAIN! His tone was seething with condescension and utter disrespect. I was trying not to lose my temper but was pretty sure he threw a "Buddy" in there. As he was trying to walk away, I said to him that he needed to look up the products he had IN STOCK and tell me which of the spare tips, IN STOCK, would match. He did...finally. I purchased what I came in for although now I wish I'd taken my money elsewhere. It seems that their policy is "argue and berate until the customer helps themselves or leaves" which leaves me wondering how they're still in business. Lesson learned, I will never shop at Radioshack again.
