Beyond that, Erika was sitting at the front desk and was the first person I ran into. Which is wild to me, since most car dealership GMs aren't that easily accessible or reachable. I ended up working with Evan Olivier and I had one of the best car shopping experiences I've ever had. Evan was extremely personable and real with me. He mentioned the extended warranty one time, I mentioned I wasn't interested and that I had a bad experience with extended warranties in the past, and he didn't bring it up again. He didn't try to push unwanted services or products on me and respected my position on upsold products. I can't say the same for other dealerships... Otherwise, we were able to test drive 4Runners and Tacomas and I learned a ton about Toyota's the day that I visited. Evan was extremely knowledgeable about the different generations and capabilities they had and Evan being a Seattleite, knew what driving a Tacoma or 4Runner would be like in the city because he owned one, it wasn't just word vomit to be more agreeable with me. Instead of doing this crazy test drive, we parallel parked the Tacoma outside the dealership, we reversed into a parking spot, and we even focused on the turn radius like I'd experience in a Seattle parking garage, we almost took it to my apartment complex to check garage door heights to see if it would actually fit in my apartment complex, but phoned ahead and my apartment manager let me know it was a no-go for that specific 4Runner. Evan and I literally tested the exact things you need to check out when you live in Seattle and management was 100% okay with doing this odd check I had requested like taking it to my apartment complex. A+ for effort! The warranty transparency, pricing, knowledge, and information Evan shared with me and the experience overall was worth dropping a note here for others to review. How can I help you?" would have made a big difference. Instead, I was met with an attitude that made me feel like my business wasn't appreciated. He even said that Lexus dealers must not be busy because they were so busy. That completely missed my point. I was talking about the quality of customer service, not how busy they were. I have been a customer here before and definitely remember receiving much better service, especially with different staff members. I then went to Burien Truck Repair and they told me they would look and charge me a diagnostic fee. In the end, they didn't need a new part, it just needed to be cleaned. They did that, lumped the diagnostic fee into the repair since they actually did it and saved me $200-300. They also gave me a ride to work while I waited! Next! Biggie! Things have been rough and my plate was stacked. I was pulling into the dentist last week and I suddenly heard the most horrendous noise. I was expecting to see a pipe dragging. Very flustered, I went in and the hygienist said she heard it too. I called BTR and Christy had me hold my phone out and drive back and forth a bit. She said that sounded terrible and, while they were about to close, rush over. I pulled in, getting many WTF looks. Christy ran over with another guy saying she heard it from the back. They immediately looked at it and said it wasn't safe to drive home and said they'd be on it first thing...and AGAIN gave me a ride! I got a call around 9 and...it was a rock. I drove over a rock and it wedged itself up behind my tire. The charge? $0! Wholly moly! I looked at their site, I once again read the reviews, then I called them. The person who answered, Walter, was welcoming, listened to what I needed and said sure bring it in today. Well my husband had the truck, but I made an appointment for the next day. To put this all in a nutshell, the truck went in, Walter was just as friendly as he is in person as he was on the phone. There is no fancy office in place, but it's decent and Walter has all kinds of info on the wall about his certificates and what's in place. I asked him to call my husband because I don't understand crap when it comes to auto repairs. He was in constant contact with my husband, not only looked at what the issue was but recommended a few other things, sent pictures about this, that were important indeed, that should be repaired but he left this up to us. He didn't push, he didn't come on strong, he simply recommended. Suffice it to say, our truck was ready in two days. It is running beautifully. I have another repair that he will be handling, hopefully soon (well as soon as I call him) and I am sure that he and his people will take care of us again, just as well. It's extremely reassuring to have a place where you can take your vehicle and know that you will not get ripped off and where you will get good service.
