I was given a delivery window between 7:30-11:30 AM by an automated call. I rearranged plans and childcare so someone could be home during this window. I was never called and my delivery never showed up. I emailed the extramile address and even they can't get ahold of the drivers to find out what is going on. Calling is a joke. You wait on hold for nearly 20 minutes and then the call cuts off. My tracking number still says out for delivery, to be delivered between 7:30-11:30 AM today. And it's 10 PM. Laughable... We ordered a large bedroom set that came in 11 boxes. The delivery team of two arrived within the 4-hour time frame they gave us, so that was much appreciated. They called about 15 minutes before they arrived to give us a heads up as well. The rest of the set was delivered intact without any obvious issues. This was the lightest box of the set, and it was the last piece we opened to complete it. Unfortunately, there is a crack that runs the entire height of the mirror, and we suspect it happened when they placed the box down since the box was intact, but it's hard to know for sure. More than 72 hours passed and I followed up again today asking where my package was and why no one from NSD contacted me. Well how did they respond? They canceled my delivery, and according to Amazon's order page they lost my package. extramile@ and Robert Holls refuses to respond to my emails or phone calls or voice mails. I spent an hour reading these reviews, and I can't do anything but agree with everyone effected. PLEASE avoid NSD at all costs. **If you don't want to read the whole review - I would just take note that even contacting extramile@hubgroup will not provide any benefit for your orders. If you notice your item is only shipped through NSD, it might be better to find an alterative item or alternative purchase option.** It started with my first order - a 72" workbench from Home Depot. NSD never received the shipment, so they went ahead and cancelled the order without notifying me or Home Depot. I had to figure it out, and then contact NSD *and* Home Depot so I could get a refund. I heard nothing back, and when I tried to call again, again nobody was available to talk to. On Monday, while I was three states away, my video doorbell gave me a notice of motion at my front door. I dealt with NSD as a result of ordering a treadmill from an exercise equipment company. As for many here, the service was in name only. An email claiming I would be called to set up delivery within 24-48 hours was literally a lie, emails went unanswered, and the best bit: calling repeatedly for 15 minute periods (after which the auto system shuts the call down) resulted in zero phone communication with this group. I get the picture that cheap delivery is all the rage with iffy companies now, but surely some delivery should be in the picture for that to happen, no? It's weeks after the promised delivery timeframe of 3 days and 2 weeks for my item, and all efforts to communicate come to naught. In my opinion, NSD stands for Non-Starter Delivery. read more

Ordered a high value product that ended up being shipped by NSD. Got an email that the scheduled delivery would be between 2-5 am. Being a home, with three kids, there is no way that time will work. I checked the NSD website tracking to confirm the delivery time. I setup a chat through the website. When asking about the delivery all I got in response. 'The order has not been scheduled we just received the order yesterday." After responding 'that's fine but your websites does say between 2-5 am.' I got a similar, but a little more snarky response. 'It has not been confirmed for delivery. Once we receive the orders the scheduler will confirm date with customer or reschedule the date selected is not available.' All I know. They better not show up tomorrow between 2-15 am. Also to note, the original delivery was supposed to be 5-days ago. Update: did what the below mentioned, as he does on every review, and like every review I still haven't heard back in two days. Again this is a high ticket item that is lost. I demand NSD to refund my lost money. Update 3-4: was scheduled for delivery June 24th. Received a text message on the 22nd confirming delivery time between 1-4. I texted at 4:10 to confirm delivery was still happening. Got a confirmation 'yes' the truck was running late. Never came. On Monday, June 27th, the website said the item had been delivered. It had not. Text and called the number from before. No response. Emailed the VP of Customer service and thought I was making progress when I was contacted via email bu a support rep. Again, long week+ story short. They confirmed the package wasn't delivered, did a dock sweep a week ago. Reached out to NSD again. Nothing noted about a dock sweep and was told it would be down again. Here's the fun part. Reported this company to the better BBB. Got a response two days ago that the package was damaged. I am one of the rare people to give a good rating for NSD. If this was 3 days ago, I would have given 1-star, but I am giving 4 stars, because of the great service experience I got after emailing: ExtraMile@hubgroup.com. Stacy Harrold was amazing and got back to me almost immediately. I also got a phone call within 20 minutes to schedule my pick-up. I had purchased a workbench from Home Depot, which arrived damaged, so I needed to return it. I needed to schedule a pick-up of the return item. On 4/12 I received an email saying NSD would call me to schedule. In talking with Home Depot, NSD has 5 business days to call the customer. Today was day 5, so had I NOT emailed the extramile inbox, who knows, maybe I would have gotten a call. I also wanted to thank Patrick Lynch, VP of Customer Care, who I found on LinkedIn. I emailed him this morning, too, and he got back to me almost immediately. Net-net is that I DO think there are nice and caring people who work here who want to help! I am deducting ONE star, because I feel like there are ways to improve the customer experience. What I think should be improved: 1) Automate service requests through the IVR. Allow customers to input their tracking # and schedule a pickup time/date through the IVR. 2) Automate service requests through tracking.shipnsd.com. I was able to look-up my tracking and see that it was in queue for PU scheduling, but it would be great to let customers pick a time/date through the website if you used an API to link your website to your scheduling software, this shouldn't be that challenging. 2) If you offer online chat, at least have staff to answer chats. I waited for over an hour for someone to respond to my chat request but no one ever did. 3) If you offer the "call back option" (rather than wait on hold, we can call you back when it's your turn), then please call customer back. The communication went well this time because I was expecting them to contact me. ( I called NSD about this and was told the driver couldn't reach me. When I informed the representative that was impossible, my phone had been right next to me all day because I was expecting the call --HE HUNG UP ON ME! * Package was left on the wrong side of the house, AND was blocking a neighbor's parking spot. * The package was left right around the corner of the house, anyone driving into the lot would not see it until it was too late. WE ARE VERY LUCKY NO ONE WAS INJURED BY SMASHING INTO THE PACKAGE The cost for this item was $1,500 + tax +a delivery fee -- Including the service of the courier bringing the package to my threshold. I live on the third-floor, and it was paramount that this large item was brought upstairs. I am a single woman living with physical impairments which hinder my ability to bend, as well as to hold ANYTHING, let alone such a large and heavy item. On the morning of [Wednesday] March 18th, I received a phone call from NSD to let me know my package had arrived at their facility. The gentleman told me that the package was very large, and that he had only one driver that day due to employees calling out during the Covid-19 pandemic. He also informed me that the delivery person wouldn't be able to bring the package inside at all-- even if I was able to find him help-- per directive by "The Boss". I'm a logical and level-headed person, so I realized it made sense that NSD wanted to keep their employees and customers safe. I also recognized that they were understaffed; so I offered that if it was easier, I could wait until [Monday] March 23rd for my package. The Gentleman on the phone readily agreed and stated that he would be in touch Monday morning to give me a timeframe for delivery. My personal plan was to round up a neighbor and his 64yr old father to help the driver bring the package up the outside stairs to the door, at least. From there, my neighbor and his father could get it thought the door, into the stairwell, and I would figure the rest out on my own. I had no idea whether the item was fully assembled or not. My hope was that it would be in pieces so I might be able to bring it upstairs piecemeal, at a pace which I could handle. On Monday morning, March 23rd, I anxiously awaited the call from NSD. When I hadn't heard anything yet, I called the number I had been provided at 11:18am (see photo). The representative who answered told me that my package was on its way and would be delivered later that afternoon. I asked him to please make sure I got a warning call 15 min before delivery. I reiterated to him that it was very important because I am physically impaired and need to notify my help when the package was close. Also, there was a severe sleet / rain storm forecasted for that afternoon, so I would need to get it indoors asap. The rep assured me that it is protocol for delivery drivers to call recipients 15-20 minutes prior to arrival. At approximately 11:50, I heard a noise outside and looked out the window to see a young man with a pallet jack walking up the driveway from the back of the house towards a delivery truck on the street. When I looked out back, there was an enormous box situated just around the corner of the house in the parking lot. Not only was the package blocking a neighbors parking spot, it was positioned in an extremely dangerous way so that anyone pulling into the driveway would smash into it coming around the corner. I promptly called NSD at 11:55 (photo documented) to question why I hadn't been notified that my delivery was imminent. The [same] representative told me that the driver couldn't reach me. I protested how that was an impossible excuse since I've had my phone next to me the whole time, as well as the fact that I didn't have any missed calls. His abrupt answer was to hang up on me. Immediately I called the vendor to let them know about the unreasonable, impolite and asinine actions of their courier service, NSD. The vendor was extremely apologetic and compensating. I was also told by them that an action would be raised directly with NSD over this, as it reflects negatively on the vendor's reputation. I must mention again that this was a $1,500 left outside that had not been signed for nor had any verification of delivery. The next day, I received an email stating the time of delivery as 1:00p. Unfortunately, the lowest score I can give for this company is 1 star. If negative stars were an option, I would have chosen that. We have been trying to schedule this company to pick up a return for a Wayfair order since April 21 (15 days ago). When you call the number they provide, you hold for 16 minutes, then the call cuts you off and tells you they will call back on the number you called on. They do not. I have waited up to 2 hours trying to access someone via the chat feature on the website and no one ever responds. For the customer service email address they provide with your tracking number, the only response ever given is an automated response that states you will be contacted in 24-48 hours. Of course, no one contacts you. As suggested on Yelp, I have reached out to ExtraMile at hubgroup dot com. Stacey does answer promptly, but every time she tells me that she cannot reach the local terminal scheduler, and if that changes, she will let us know. How can you not reach someone in your own company for weeks? This company is a complete black hole of communication. I have three huge boxes of furniture that are taking up my living room. We are beyond frustrated and have hours invested in trying to get someone to contact us. This is regarding an item I bought on Amazon and had a scheduled delivery date and time set. The day before it is to deliver I receive a notification about a different time which does not work for me. I call the number as recommended and it says my order will come on the scheduled time but no show! I receive texts saying the shipment is scheduled the following day during the work hours which will not work for me. It took me an hour to get a live person on the phone and was told that the people driving typically contact 24 hours prior to when they can make it (during typical work hours) and there is no flexibility. Margo I was returning a Sealy mattress that was defective after only 1 1/2year's use. They were supposed to bring the mattress and take the defective mattress back. There was some mix-up and the guys said they only came to remove the mattress and they did not bring the new mattress that I bought. So they had to bring the new mattress the next week and take away the defective one. The two men that made the delivery were very good and took care not to damage anything. read more

UPDATE: Pat L- I think you need to read my original post as it seems you overlooked all the problems and many hours of phone and online chat conversations in the last few days with your company. My original post was to point out the horrific manner in which I was treated. Anything I wrote that was positive was ONLY directed toward ONE person. And that was only because after so many nasty people refusing to help me, she seemed to understand. So I gave her the benefit of the doubt...too bad it was premature! As I stated in that post, I am now providing an update to the promises made by your employee- Iva M (not I'd'a as you called her). This whole mess is the most ridiculous, rude, nasty, unprofessional and incompetent business situation I have ever been involved with. IT IS SHAMEFUL! As it turns out- Iva's promises were useless and none of her promises came to be. I NEVER received any call back from her manager that Iva supposedly spoke directly with, or from the managers that person was going to discuss this with and RESOLVE the matter. The uncooperative, nasty manner in phone and online chats continued for 3 more hours of my time yesterday. Last evening- 7/25 at 5:30 pm PST, I received a phone call from 'Robert' in Virginia (8:30 pm his time) who stated the situation had now reached "all the way at the top- and he was going to resolve this immediately." He gave me his direct phone number to call if there were any further issues getting this return satisfactorily accomplished. Robert provided me with the local terminals direct phone # (which is all I had been asking for more than 20 times) and promised me that the return was "re-activated and not erroneously closed out" as I was being told by every rep prior to that. Because it was so late, Robert suggested I call first thing this morning (7/26) and speak directly to the terminal people to schedule. Ok- sounds good right? WELL- not so fast...I have been calling the terminal all day and ONLY get voice mail to leave a message for a call back. I have left several messages and still have not received ONE call back from the terminal. You folks desperately need to completely scrap your entire business model and start over from scratch.
