He is honest (no bluffing, huslting, exaggerating or anything like that), easy to communicate with (being clear with the plan and scope of work, and makes reasonable advice maybe you didn't think of), hardworking (our crawlspace unfortunately got muddy and wet due to rain weather. Nestor worked through those nasty condition anyway without complaining), and offered very reasonable price (labor + material, again very clear). All his job are in line with codes. After he finished the job, I asked if he can come put a cap on one of our branching kine. He is very responsive like always and let me know which day he will be nearby and hence can come to do that. Nestor was great! I sent him a request for a quote for a new shut off valve after sending him images of the current set up. He gave me a quote and we set up an appointment for the next day. When he came to inspect the area, he was true to the quote and completed the job in 20 minutes. While turning off/on the house water, he let us know that there is rust on our pipes and let us know we can contact him in the future to replace the pipes and also said he will give us a free inspection of our pipes underground. My ~70 years old house has the sewer issues for the last 18 years. I had to call the plumber to fix the clogged drain once a year or 2 years. But two days ago, it was announced that the sewer pipe was dead, totally dead, and now it is time to replace it. Long time ago, they used Orangeburg pipe which was made out of compressed pulp, which is basically hard paper. According to the Wikipedia, from 1970s, they started using PVC pipe. The life span of Orangeburg pipe was known to be 50~60 years, so it makes sense to replace it now. I sent out quote request via Yelp, and received tons of texts immediately, but most of them told me they would come 2~3 days later. Nestor @ Blue Rhino Rooter and Plumbing was the 1st one to come to rescue me. He came on that day, put camera into the full sewer line, found where the problem was. They used kind of metal detector to find the camera underground. It was amazing. He also explained me the beauty of trenchless pipe replacement, and gave me a reasonable quote. I looked up "trenchless pipe replacement" and found it was less expensive, and more environmentally friendly. He came back the next day with his crews. I had doubt how they would put the hard plastic pipe (4") into the ground and how to get rid of the old broken pipe because it looked like there was no space to put the pipe underground. They would block the whole road to put the pipe in? Surprisingly, the long pipe was bent in U shape! It is so long, so it was bent because of its own weight + heavy metal head. See the picture I attached. It is unbelievable sight. They put the hard metal head at front of the pipe, and pull the pipe with steel wire. As you can see the attached photos, the steel wire pulled the pipe and pipe was installed underground like magic! I thought the new pipe would push the old pipe, but actually the metal head destroyed the old pipe, so only small part came out at front of the head, which makes sense because the old pipe was already broken. It took only a day. From 8 am to ~6 pm. The most of time was spent to dig to find out the pipe buried under 6 feet. Everything was done without any problem, and now I feel much better now. I do not have to worry about the sewer drain for a while from now. I am not an expert at all, but I imagine it would take much longer and cost more to make a trench to find and replace the pipe, and definitely it will destroy my front yard.
