What I valued was to find the right vendor that would do the following - quick quote - galvanized on hand without needing to wait for it to be ordered - consultative mindset - relatively fast quote to work period - cost to value They hit on all of these. Johnny gave me a remote quote and later I had time for him to give me an onsite quote. They had galvanized in inventory so less wait to ge to work They did make some good consultative adjustments and recommendations - since they worked when I needed them then I considered there was a lot of value based on cost. Overall it is an experience I'm happy with and encourage anyone to work with them as their flexibility and accountability is enough to give them your business. Not everything can be sunshine and rainbows, I would have loved some better weld lines but that's not the end of the world. During the heavy winter rainstorms, we woke up to a bad leak in our bathroom ceiling/wall. We quickly called several roofers including Dan, who came out to quote the work. Considering there were several other weak points on our old tar and gravel roof, the consensus was that a full roof replacement vs. multiple short-term patches would be more economical in the long run. Dan responded quickly to my call and showed up the same day, even though I was one of many calls that morning thanks to the heavy rain. After seeking a few additional quotes, NR's quote came in about even with others whose ratings were similarly high. What made us go with Dan and NR was their willingness to act so quickly on our issue, and help us sort through a frustrating process for new homeowners. Before the roof replacement: - Dan got a crew out within a day or two to put a patch on the problem area as a stopgap until they could do the full job after the storms subsided. - Dan talked us through the process end-to-end so that we knew what was happening and made sure there was a clear/defined schedule. - Dan was more than willing to provide references, and all we heard were positive experiences. When it came to executing the work: -Dan handled the permitting process, made sure that his team stayed in touch as the project start approached, and kept us updated on what they were planning to do each day as progress was made. -The work itself was painless and efficient (a little loud at points, but that is to be expected!), and wrapped up ahead of schedule. -Dan made the payment process easy and straightforward. The two areas where we did have some slight "road bumps" were: 1. After a particularly heavy wind/rainstorm, we had another minor leak into the bathroom (once the new roof was up). Again, Dan was quick to remedy it - he had a team, out the next day to check it out/put up a tarp to keep more water out until they could fix (needed a few dry days). A small spot by our bathroom vent pipe that had come unsealed; as a result, he had his team reseal every single pipe/vent/similar areas on the roof to make sure there would be no issue going forward. Dan also covered the additional repair to the drywall inside. Whether due to a minor mistake or the historic windstorms (100+ mph gusts caused issues all over the city), Dan acted quickly and made sure we got the help we needed. 2. There were a few times where Dan was hard to reach, though it did not delay any of the work. As stated before, our work happened around the time that a LOT of folks needed help with their roofs, so this is understandable! Given how much Dan helped us out when we were in several pinches, it has to be 5 stars (despite a few minor inconveniences along the way). Dan's (and his team's) commitment to providing great customer service is abundantly clear, and made what could have been a much more daunting process fairly easy to manage. We were able to schedule installation quickly to coordinate with our house painter. Installers Luis and Alan were very professional and their work was meticulous. Finally got some time off from work and decided to get things better at home. Started from the driveway, then the windows, the pool, and finally the roof. I had a feeling it needs some attention. Got Reuben to inspect the roof. He went over everything and got me a full report. The good news: the roof is in good condition besides some minor service. The not that great news: The gutter system need some work done. Quote made sense to me so I signed and asked for the work to be done ASAP. I wanted to get at least 3 days of vacation. They were several local roofers in San Francisco that I had come to take a look at my roof. Reuben (AKA Rob) from NR Roofing CA was the only one to remind me that my roof likely needs to be replaced in 3-5 years as it was just past its midway point. He pointed out to me several ways to tell and was incredibly knowledgeable about roofs in San Francisco. Originally I had him come give an estimate for installing a new gutters system but he said that since I was going to have to replace the roof, it wasn't worth the cost (vs installing complete new gutters system ) given what I was trying to solve for. I really appreciated his Reuben's and judgement. For that I am happy to give NR Roofing CA review for their repair work, and very likely will use them for whenever I need to replace the full set of shingles.
