Salmon Poke Bowl with salad as the base
    Sel Z.

Nozomi is a take-out place that offers Asian fusion items including poke bowls and fusion tacos. Location is close to Yorkdale Mall. Note that there is no parking right outside of the restaurant, but there is street parking on the small street just around the corner from the restaurant. You can order ahead of time and select a pick-up time by using the online ordering system. I like that there is the option for "no utensils" so they don't give out disposable utensils by default). There is also the option for "go easy on the sauce". During busy hours, there might be a bit of a wait for your order to be ready. There is a free library shelf where you can browse and pick up books (good use of time while waiting for your order). I tried the Salmon Poke Bowl which contained fresh salmon, cucumber, edamame, wakame seaweed, furikake, sesame seeds, and taro curls. I chose salad as the base, which consisted of iceberg lettuce. I liked the mix of all the ingredients - full of flavour and textures. The Pocos (fish tacos) was pretty good as well. The shell remained crunchy for a while, even after being in a closed container for a while. The filling consisted of seaweed salad and the same raw salmon cubes as the ones used in Salmon Poke Bowl, with the same poke sauce. Decent take-out food with Asian flavours in general, with an efficient and seamless online ordering system.

Nozomi is a cute neighbourhood spot for Asian fusion takeout on Bathurst. I've passed by the store numerous times and always wanted to pay it a visit. I'm finally here today. I got a classic Nozomi chicken sandwich combo with the tater tots (and a can of Coke). It was about 18 dollars in total after tax. Price-wise, it was definitely on the higher end, considering that it serves "fast food" style take-out food. In contrast, I'm able to get a similar style of food but a way much bigger portion (e.g. Brown Katsu). The sandwich is a lot smaller than I thought, but the taste was good. I could tell that the chef put a lot of thought into developing the special mayo. The chicken was fried to perfection, although I was hoping it had bigger meaty & juicy parts. At one point, I thought I ordered a chicken tender slider instead of the usual meaty/juicy chicken sandwiches like those served by PG Clucks or Popeyes. As for the tater tots...I believe in tater tots supremacy, so it's good. However, it would have been better if they had dipping sauce or some sort. It could get dull/dry Overall, I think it's pretty pricy for the amount of the food. I will return to try its Korean fries and poke bowl, but probably not the burgers/sandwiches for now. The cashier is super nice & friendly though, and I really appreciated the environment of the store. Although it's reserved for takeout only, it's very homey. I highly encourage everyone who commutes on Bathurst to try the store out.

All the orders, with easily distinguishable writing to see what is what.

Incredible service, ordered a large order for me and my co workers during lunch hour, and everything was labelled clearly and accurately. All our items were easily distinguished and when we returned to work to distribute the items everyone was happy that their orders were accurately filled! Everyone who ordered the OG burger LOVED IT! Everyone who ordered The Nozomi Chicken Sandwich LOVED IT! We also had people ordering the Beef Bulgogi Bowl and they LOVED IT! The folks who got taters and the KBT fries for their sides LOVED IT! I had a co worker order the Tokyo Smash burger, and she LOVED IT! I'm not going to go into the specifics of all the items, but honestly the pictures I included in this review is AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS. The price of the items is reasonable for the quality and amazing taste of the items. My only regret is I wished I ordered the Pocos too!! I will return, no, no I MUST return!!! This is the place ladies and gentlemen. I used to go to another restaurant that closed down a year or two ago that had a Korean style Smash burger that reminded me of the cheeseburgers from Shake Shack, and The OG is just as good as that!! I'm so glad to have found this restaurant so that I can enjoy this burger again and again. For those who live a bit away from this restaurant, they are on Uber Eats, Doordash for all your food delivery craving needs.

I was zooming across the 401 on my way home and wanted to stop by for some great takeout, and Nozomi came to mind. Since my partner and I couldn't decide between burgers or something healthier, well, you can have it all here. This time, my partner tried their hot honey inferno chicken, which is a massive chicken sandwich with a sweet kick to it, served with a side of tater tots. I also ordered the poke--consistently great. I bumped into a customer making a large order and they were raving about the chicken sandwiches so we got the chicken sandwich instead of the burger this time. If you find yourself on the highway nearby and want some quick takeout, this place never disappoints. The service is prompt, despite not pre-ordering in advance. You can also stop quickly on the nearby side street for temp parking to grab your food. I love their little plant corner and the photo of the owner's sister on the court while the Raptors made an epic shot. This is a cozy takeout shop so don't expect a full dine-in experience though there is a little sitting area if you do want to quickly finish up before you hit the outdoors.

Literally loved everything we ordered but I highly recommend the inferno sandoooo it was insanely crunchy and the chicken was cooked to perfection. They didn't cheap out on quality at this place! Check 'em out!!!

First time at Nozomi and it's too bad I did not find this gem earlier. Great service, good food. Cozy, authentic and modern. Would visit again when in the area to get myself a surprisingly juicy patty and well melted cheese within just a single OG burger. Their chicken burger would have you clucking for more if you can handle a round 2.

So Good! I was super sceptical about burgers travelling. You know, they need to be eaten fast off the grill. Well I was delighted when I dug into this one and the bun was intact, in fact it was amazing! The meat was super fresh and tasty, but the bun was out of sight. I also tied the Korean kimchi fries. Would definitely order those again... maybe with extra kimchi. Finally while I was on an eating spree... the poke bowl. You have multiple choices of base and toppings. I went with rice and a salmon/tuna combo. The sauce is super good with just the right of toppings. Only thing missing is a bit more crunch, but no points off for that. Just make the request. All in all a fantastic food experience. Oh must try the fresh baked cookies. Heaven!

Super cute mom and pop shop tucked away in the streets of bathurst. Looked like a majority of their business was take away or delivery. After shopping at yorkdale i found this place on yelp and decided to give it a shot based on the high reviews. It did not disappoint! Super friendly staff. I ordered two burgers (the kalbi burger and tokyo burger). Made one a combo and upgraded for the bulgogi tater tots which was my dad's absolute favorite item! Had kimchi and bulgogi and a fried egg with crispy tater tots - delicious! The burgers were made fresh and very moist! Yumm! The owner was so kind and gave us their famous taro chips on the house and also free pop! So sweet. We loved everything and will definitely come back to try their other items (:

Top - K.B.T (LOVE), Dry Rub Chicken Wings (Breaded) Bottom - Kalbi Burger, plain Taters, Nozomi Chicken Sandwich (WOW)

Everything was DELICIOUS!!! We're so glad we found this gem of a place. The staff was really helpful. I called prior to ordering to ask about certain ingredients because of my food allergies and they were extremely willing and helpful to address my concerns. The following is what we ordered: The Kalbi Burger combo - ordered with K.B.T - that handmade patty was juicy and a nice size! The caramelized onions were perfectly done giving it a nice sweet taste that went very well with the kimchi mayo. That K.B.T- so much flavour! And a good portion that could be eaten alone but I shared half. The Nozomi Chicken Sandwich combo - ordered with white meat and plain Taters on the side (don't bother with plain Taters just get the K.B.T). This chicken sandwich blows any other chicken sandwich, from anywhere else, out of the water! The chicken is a big piece, moist inside and wonderfully crispy on the outside. Along with that habanero sauce - WOW!!! Asian Dry Rub Wings - ordered them breaded with honey garlic sauce on the side. The wings are juicy, the dry rub is delicious. The honey garlic sauce was ok, we felt it needed more seasoning. Overall, this place is a must and will absolutely be kept bookmarked in our favourites for a next time!

Nozomi is an Asian fusion restaurant that recently opened up on Bathurst Street north of Lawrence, a few doors down from Gryfe's bagels. Hats off to any restaurant or food business that is daring enough to open up during the Covid pandemic! Nozomi specializes in poke bowls, appetizers such as chicken karaage and satay, fusion sushi rolls with unique flavour inclusions like pesto seasoned rice, pastas, and various Asian inspired flavours of chicken wings. They also offer tasty looking cookies, that are baked in house. Nozomi has weekday specials including $9 appetizers on Tuesdays. Knowing that Wednesdays they offer $9 wing night for 1 pound of chicken wings was my incentive for paying them a visit. During the time of my visit, the restaurant was decked out in Halloween Decor. I loved that they were getting into the seasonal spirit. During the pandemic they have a number of Covid precautions in place including a mandatory masking policy, plenty of hand sanitizer at the counter and close to the door, and limiting the numbers of patrons to 5 customers allowed at any given time to maintain physical distancing. They have plexiglass barriers at the counter between staff and customers. Right now they are operating on a take-out basis only. I ordered the Korean glazed chicken wings and honey garlic chicken wings. I called when I was about five minutes away and waited for another seven minutes in store to receive my order. I appreciate that they have biodegradable cardboard take out boxes. There is also the option to have your receipt emailed to you. The chicken wings were crispy and flavourful, even after a 30 minute drive to get them home. Each pound of wings came with a bit of carrot radish slaw, and containers of blue cheese sauce and medium hot wing sauce. The honey garlic wings were not dripping in sauce, which I appreciated, and had an almost double fried caramelized texture that I enjoyed. The Korean glazed chicken wings had a garlicky sweet spicy flavour which had a slight kick that kept you wanting to eat more. I also had a chance to taste their cookies. The golden Oreo lemon cheesecake cookie had a nice vanilla flavour and crunch from the golden Oreos, a softer texture in the middle, and a light lemony flavour. The cheesecake aspect was less apparent to me. I particularly enjoyed the dulce de leche shortbread thumbprint cookie, which had a noticeable almond flavour and delicate shortbread texture. The staff were friendly and helpful. When speaking with the owner, I asked about the story behind the name Nozomi. He said originally the concept was to have an express takeout or fast casual establishment where freshly prepared food could be ordered relatively quickly. However he also mentioned that they subsequently learned that one of the interpretations for the word nozomi includes "wish" or "hope", which is very fitting. I wish that Nozomi Kitchen does well as we all could use a little hope (and more of those tasty chicken wings!) during these pandemic times and beyond.

I have seen this place's eats on Instagram and was always interested in trying it out. Thankfully it was a short walk away from an errand I had to do in the area. They have lunch comboes so I got the Nozomi chicken sandwich with taters and a pop. The sandwich came with a big slab of tender chicken, fried to perfection. It was really flavourful and all the sandwich components (chicken, bun, lettuce, sauce) went really well together. It was a bit on the salty side but the taters helped offset that. The taters were really crispy and addictive, I had to stop myself from finishing them all on the way home and save them with my sandwich. I also got some Brew de Force cold brew for $5 for my partner and he said it was a nice treat for coffee lovers.

Finally got a chance to stop by Nozomi after a recommendation from a friend before the last lockdown. 1. O.G. Burger - I love a good hamburger. Although Nozomi serves fusion food. I opted for a classic burger as a barometer. Just like you judge a pizza place by their Neapolitan pizza, I went with the classic O.G. They should rename it the OMG burger as it was quite delicious. Meat to bun ratio was perfect and the bun was ooo-so-soft. Seasoned perfectly and garnished with sauce. Lettuce and pickles. 5 out of 5. I can't wait to try the other burgers on the menu 2. K.B.T Fries. This was a delicious side to. I would recommend having these as soon as possible after ordering. By the time I got home, the taters were not as crisp (obviously). The mixture of kimchi, Bulgogi and sauce was a good combination of flavours. 5 out of 5 3. Had the chicken tenders as well. Fried chicken tenders seasoned either their own blend is spices. What's not to like about fried chicken? 5 out of 5. 4. Chocolate chip cookie. Was told these are made in house. Reminds me of Mrs Fields cookies I had in the shopping malls as a kid. Expect these cookies are 3x as big compared to the tiny cookies from Mrs. Fields. 5 out of 5 The staff at Nozomi were very friendly and I look forward to another visit soon.

Pokito is a Hawaiian restaurant/take out joint located along Queen St. W. near Spadina Ave (close…read moreto Cameron St.). They've been a staple for poke in the area for years, however, their menu has expanded to include more Hawaiian foods like plate lunches and snacks (like onigiri and spam musubi). I recently stopped by Pokito to pick up take out for dinner as I had stumbled upon a $10 coupon from the restaurant over Facebook. Upon entering, the space is inviting and warm, with wooden accents throughout the space. There are several tables if you'd like to dine in. The menu is large and they also have daily deals as well. In the small fridge display they have a sample of their poke on display along with other items like onigiri, desserts, and drinks. Their poke bowls are likely the most popular items to be ordered but definitely don't skip out on the plate lunches as well! I opted to grab a garlic shrimp scampi plate lunch (tail-on shrimp sauteed in buttery garlic sauce on rice (can choose between white or brown rice) with mac salad and a salad slaw) for $22.50. I did have $10 off my order which was great. If you sign up for their rewards program you also get other deals as well (the next deal I get is 50% off a plate lunch for a limited time!). My order was made fresh which took about 5-10 min. I didn't mind as I just sat down to wait. Service was friendly and efficient. I had my garlic shrimp scampi plate lunch for dinner. Beware that the shrimp is really garlicy and delicious! Just be careful if you need to talk to someone afterwards because they will smell it. The rice absorbed some of that garlic flavour which made the rice even better. The mac salad was great and the salad slaw helped to cut through everything as well. Portions were large and I was full afterwards. Overall, a great place for Hawaiian plate lunches (and I'm sure poke as well!) in the Queen/Spadina area. Definitely will return to try more of their plate lunches as well as poke.

I had the spicy garlic ahi and the original ahi, and the tuna was so fresh I half expected it to still be swimming. It melted in my fat little mouth like it was apologizing for every bad life choice I've ever made. This honestly rivaled poke I've had in Honolulu, which is terrifying because that means I no longer need Hawaii--I can now die broke and mercury-riddled right here at home. The spicy ahi hits hard too. Caucasians, if you've ever cried during a Taco Bell mild sauce packet, you should probably update your life insurance before ordering. My only critique? More sides and toppings. If I'm going to spiral into heavy-metal toxicity, I want to do it with reckless abandon and at least three different crunchy things sprinkled on top. Still, this place is so good I'd happily shave a few years off my life expectancy for another bowl. Who needs retirement when you've got poke like this?

I looked at the former's menu and liked what I saw. An early dinner from My Sushi, it was! You can get a bunch of sushi rolls. There were many options. I took one look at the poke menu and knew I needed a bowl. I got a regular. You can also do a large. A Chinese couple owns this business. The man took my order. The woman prepared my bowl. The man was helpful and nice. He said that I could do rice or salad, or half of each, if I liked. I went with salad. For the sauce, I chose teriyaki. I also got a Diet Coke. I waited patiently for my food. It didn't take too long. The woman asked if I needed a plastic bag. I waived it off, as I was going to rip open and devour my food at the food court. I cracked open my can of Diet Coke. It was cold and hit the spot. I loved my poke bowl. The salmon was fresh and yummy. The mandarin oranges were a nice twist. They brightened this bowl significantly. There were crispy green bits that I enjoyed, but I didn't know what I ate... lol The greens are iceberg lettuce. I would have liked mixed greens, but the crisp lettuce worked out surprisingly nicely. The half-avocado's presentation was amazing. It was cubed and fanned out. This find was awesome! I would love to return for more. The regular-sized poke bowl was perfect. Down the road, I can see my getting a large. Perhaps I'll try the sashimi next. I love sashimi! (197)
