Very moist and full of flavor! My fav is the lemon. They only have one gluten free which is ok not crazy about the texture.

I got to Yelp in Castle Rock today. And it was for this cute cake shop in the heart of Castle Rock…read moredowntown. And it's none other than the Cake Company. I had a side hustle job assignment in the very neighborhood mid-afternoon. And I simply didn't want to go there, work, leave and get home; I wanted to discover a business I have never been to. I hence googled bakeries and this cake shop came up. According to a little research, this shop opened its doors in January of 2021 by two sisters who are Colorado natives. This element added more excitement to my quick visit I made today. The Cake Company is adorable. From the exterior signage to the interior decors, everything that decorates the whole space matches the theme of the store. Mostly pink and off-white, they not only sell beautifully crafted cupcakes, pies, rice crispies, cinnamon rolls, to name a few, they also sell some gifts such as wine glasses, t-shirts, journal books, tote bags, mug cups, I mean you name it!! I was at awe standing in front of the showcase that displays all sorts of sweets. When one of the ladies upfront greeted me with a very peppy welcoming tone, she kindly said to take my time. I thus allowed myself to be indecisive for several minutes to take my time (LOL!!) Whereas the pies and cheesecakes to the right looked amazing, they also appeared a bit too big and decadent. Since I only needed one good piece of some delicious something, I opted for a cupcake as they aren't as big as the other sweets. Upon asking the same lady which ones are the most popular, she said it was either Berry Tilly or Better Than Sex. My instinct told me to go with the latter: Better Than Sex. The different lady transacted my purchase. She carefully put my cupcake in a single cupcake box. Just so you know, their boxes are tilt-free so your sweet stuff won't tilt inside it (unless you violently shake the box!) The cupcakes are $6 each. And yet, if you buy 6 or more, each price is reduced to $5.50 up to 11. If you buy 12 or more, each price is reduced to $5.00. 20% discount will be added if you purchase 3 dozens. The shop does sell gluten free ones and yet any of the discounts I mentioned don't appear to apply to them. After the purchase, I looked to the left to discover a little entry way to the store next door. It's Lost Coffee. The customers are free to go in and out between the two shops. This means that you can take your cupcake to the next store and have some coffee or tea to pair with it. This is another store that has this symbiotic relationship with their next-door neighbor business. I always find the concept so intriguing. Businesses help each other. As soon as I got back to my car, I immediately opened the box and started to dig in. And wow....I know this is such an ordinary statement but I will say it: this is/was by far the best cupcake I've ever had. It was perfectly moist in the sponge part with the perfect sweetness. After one bite, it was simply impossible for me to stop eating it although I wanted to save some for later. The cupcake thus disappeared so quickly in a matter of 2-3 minutes. Their cupcakes are phenomenal. There is no way you'll buy cupcakes from other places once you have experienced theirs. I am already pondering as to when I should go back. Discovering great businesses bring me joy; this is why I can never stop Yelping.

We are creatures of habit and love grabbing a slice of PB pie. Just thinking about it has my mouth watering! Their pies are whipped and light but still so rich and delicious! If you're a PB lover, I highly recommend. They also have other flavors and a large cupcake variety, as well as some cute local goods to browse while you wait. 10/10 would recommend for a sweet treat in Castle Rock!

Overall, it's a middle of the road bakery. I wasn't impressed despite its reputation and awards…read more I judge bakeries by their plain butter croissant so that I can do a 1:1 comparison. It was lacking in flavor depth and texture was not airy enough; not even top 10-15 I have ever had. The best plain croissant I've tried in Denver is at Reunion Bakery, which is pretty much perfect and exemplifies what I had in Paris. They do have more unique flavors and offerings, but again, none of them blew me away and were actually quite underwhelming. Spinach artichoke croissant and chorizo strada were bland and lacking salt. Cinna-roll and almond croissant were probably the best ones but still nothing to write home about. I found it hard to eat more than 3 bites of anything I got because I did not feel any enjoyment from it and my taste buds were not sufficiently tingled lmao. Maybe I have higher pastry standards coming from San Francisco where there are just so many amazing options, but I think Poulette is a fine neighborhood bakery although not a place anyone should go out of their way for or wait more than 5 minutes for. I went on a Saturday morning at 9am when the wait was around 20-30 minutes. Staff were helpful and nice. Street parking was easy to find. There is limited seating indoors and outdoors.

Planning a party & in need of a delicious cake and desserts? Look no further than BiteIt! Bakery!…read moreHelmed by the talented Polina Astafyeva (a seasoned Cake Artist with a passion for all things sweet), BiteIt! creates cakes & desserts that are as beautiful as they are delicious. From the moment I contacted Polina, I knew I was in good hands. She made the entire process, from discussing my vision for the cake & desserts, to picking up the final masterpieces (delivery is also available), so easy. For my sister's baby shower, I had a spring floral theme in mind. Polina listened attentively and translated my vision into a delectable reality. The cake was not only stunning, it was a crowd-pleaser. We had the 'Letter Cake' made with honey biscuits, white chocolate ganache, & berry confit (this is BiteIt!'s most popular flavor, and we can see why). The honey biscuit cake was soft with a crumbly texture (comparable to shortbread cookies, but with a subtle sweetness and floral hint from the honey). The white chocolate ganache had a smooth, sweet, and milky chocolate flavor. The berry confit was a refreshing and tart jam that added a fruity burst to each bite of the cake. Polina also baked up macaron boxes as party favors for each guest - raspberry & mango-lemon (both heavenly, the raspberry was my favorite). This was such a fun way to leave everyone with treats to take home. BiteIt! Bakery made our celebration so much sweeter & I can't wait to order from Polina again in the future!

I decided to pick up a box of various pastries: fruit tarts, cookies, croissants, turnovers, bear claws and a baguette. I arrived at my friends' house knowing they don't really like sweets.. but perhaps they would try some after lunch with some coffee. We cut most of the pastries in fours so we can each get a bite (I have me a sweet tooth...) but to my surprise, they loved every bite!.. and they don't even like sweets! The croissants were buttery and fluffy, the fruit tarts were divine and the baguette was perfect. They were surprised this bakery was right around the corner from their house and insisted on the address as they said they'd want to come back to check the place out. I told them there were lucky to have such an amazing bakery so close to their place. Whenever I'm in the area, I stop in for a treat. One to share, two for me! The employees are always super friendly and helpful too. Definitely a place to check out! It will become a favorite!
