Just moved to the area. On moving day ran over here since it's literally 2 minutes from my new house. Wanted to get the people helping me some food. Ordered the first item and was told the grill was off (wanted a breakfast sandwich) and they were closing soon. It was quarter to. Honestly just really rubbed me the wrong way as this was my first interaction here. Unfortunately didn't get to try the food but won't be back since the woman who was working just really wasn't friendly and wanted to get the hell out of there clearly. Stopped in here again to give them another chance because I believe in America's small businesses. I wasn't blown away this time either. What a shame. I stayed away from the anemic egg and cheese and went with a simple bagel, toasted with butter. Hard to screw that up. Their bagels are fluffy for sure. No complaints there. The problem is that when they toast such a thick bagel they just toss it in the toaster for one cycle. The middle doesn't get hot and the bagel doesn't get crunchy. Even the butter didn't melt. And it was over 2.50. That's double what it's worth. And they still don't post prices for bagels, single or by the dozen. Service was fast but not particularly friendly. What a shame. Not just bagels is probably my fourth favorite bagel place in the area. It has OK bagels. The bagels taste like they aren't fresh, that they have been sitting out for a day or two. I go here a few times a year, when it's on the way when I'm going on a long road trip. I went here this morning and got a plain bagel with egg, ham & extra cheese. There was no extra cheese on it, the bagel was huge and overwhelming to eat and it tasted kind of stale. I also got a plain bagel with cream cheese and the bagel tasted the same. The cream cheese was good. Overall, the bagel place isn't that great but it's terrible. The employees were very rude too and not welcoming every time I've been here. And I'm pretty sure they are the owners which is no way to treat your customers. read more

Typical cheap bagel place that only gives you one egg and one peace of bacon or pork roll. That have the balls to ask you to pay extra for one more egg.....they try to be like the bagel nook in freehold with their specialty bagels and spreads but they are awful. To top it off, the staff is extremely rude and always in a bad mood. The only good thing is the coffee. read more

Friendly bagel place, good food - not that it's easy to make a bad porkroll egg and cheese on an egg everything bagel Only ~4 tables, I guess they do more carry out than anything. No gluten free bagels but they'll do egg platters and home fries. Obviously not celiac friendly but they know enough to keep pans clean and what not. Bagels and pastries are a solid 8/10. Not the best but pretty good, HOWEVER the old woman that works there is the absolute worst. She's always got a attitude, always seeming bothered by your presence or a simple request. I asked for a bagel to be buttered in my order, not realizing it was already in the bag and she dumped all the bagels out onto a counter in front of me, let them fly everywhere, to butter the one... instead of just reaching her hand inside and pulling it out (4 bagels total). I came in at 8:45 AM on Sunday morning. I ordered a buttered bagel. The bagel was ok. The female owner working behind the counter was obnoxious and sarcastic to a couple of customers that came in after me. The floors were dirty. There are no bathrooms available for customers. They do not offer free WiFi to their customers. If you want extra napkins, you have to ask for them. There is a $10.00 minimum to use a debit or credit card. I will not be coming back. Never again! The people are nice enough but they have gotten the order wrong twice in a month. Just this morning I got 3 sandwiches, breakfast potatoes and a plain bagel with butter. I even asked if they had the buttered bagel in the bag and the woman, I presume to be the owner, said "yes, it is in the bottom ". So I traveled 10 minutes home, found out that they never put the bagel in, drove 10 minutes back to get it and then 10 minutes back home to my waiting cold sandwich and home fries. I could almost understand if it was a teen worker but she is the owner for Petes sake! Both times!!! The food isn't that good where I would ever give it another try. The bagels are the best in Western Monmouth County. But, that's not all. Antoinette's creative and homemade cream cheese spreads are creamy and smooth, making them a great bagel topper. The baked goods at Not Just Bagels rival any bakery in ther area. There is always something new, but my personal favorites are the huge, fruit filled danish and the brownies. I have had lunch there a few times and found the sandwiches to be large, inexpensive and delicious. It's a small place, but there is ample room to sit and enjoy the food while chatting with the owners and servers. LOVE THIS PLACE! read more

I always loved the bagels at this place. They are big and they put much toppings on them, unlike other stores. BUT, and yes there is a big BUT. If you go in after a certain time there are just no bagels left. And I do not mean just before closing. I found this very frustrating many times. The store closed because of the Covid19 virus but they reopened recently. Today I went in at 9:45 and I could not believe they had no bagels. I wanted garlic and onion and they only had one of each. I mean they are suppose to be open to noon, but two hours before there were nothing left. I said to them why bother to reopen if you are not going to have bagels. This is my last time at the store. Whenever I ask for a LITTLE BIT of cream cheese on my bagel from this place, they give me a heart stopping amount. I have to wait until I get to my destination to scrape off basically all of it. WHAT A WASTE OF PRODUCT! If a customer wants less, GIVE THEM LESS! You're wasting money. It adds up. I've worked in food places and in customer service. NOT LISTENING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS IS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Customers should leave SATISFIED with the food AND the experience. They should feel LISTENED TO! If a customer only wants cream cheese on the left side of the bagel, YOU DO IT! If they only want a little, GIVE THEM A LITTLE! Don't layer it on half a inch thick. Maybe the rest of the bagel buying world wants atherosclerosis, but I sure as hell don't. Ever seen the Soup Nazi episode on Seinfeld? Well....that's what it's like. The food is decent deli like food, which is fine as I don't go in for a gourmet meal, however being that they're the first people I interact with in the morning before work perhaps they can greet you, smile, and not exude complete misery. Perhaps they don't need to snap at you cold faced with an attitude like you interrupted their day. Been here about 4-5 times thinking perhaps it was an off day....and it's just an off personality, has nothing to do with the day. I would give 0 Stars if I could. Extremely slow service. Bagels were not very good. They were large but flavorless. Has cinnamon raisin and everything. Basic it was a plain bagel with a few raisins on top and had no cinnamon flavor. Everything was bland and mostly just poppy seeds. Way overpriced and very dissapointing. Try someplace else read more

I'm rather new to the Howell area and have passing this place on the travel to work. Decided to give it a try. Walked in and there were 3 other customers standing there... no one behind the counter to greet you. Finally this woman comes from the back, rude, looked disheveled. She takes care of the other customers and I notice she has a plastic glove on for the food then touches the money, grabbing at the change. So finally my turn as I tell her my order, she is like huh? She appears to get annoyed because "she" cant hear. She is in the back making my breakfast and there is a window to the door. Now she has NO gloves on handling my food. The prices were outrageous!!! $3.50 for this small scone?! really. NEVER NEVER AGAIN, I try and give the small businesses the money but will not give this place another dime. I went there the other morning at 5 am.,I was looking forward to a nice hot fresh bagel. So I ordered 3 plain and 3 Raisin. First thing I was shocked that it cost me $6.00 for 6 bagels. I was shocked that the price of bagels have gone up that much. Second thing was when I went to grab the bag and leave the bag was ice cold. Yup not one bagel was even a little bit warm. I then realized that I just bought day old bagels. I couldn't figure it out, the bins were all full and I think I was the first customer because he was just rolling out the rug, so I figured the bagels were going to be nice and hot. Nope, not one was hot, and not even warm. I won't be going back there anymore. I'll take the extra minute ride up to Shoprite Plaza and get my bagels there. I know I wont get day old bagels there. If you like stale and dry baked goods this is the place for you. I have never had such a dry bagel in my life, I ordered it with butter, but there was hardly any butter at all on it, which did not help with it being dry. I also ordered a black and white cookie, which they had the nerve to charge $2.75 for. I have had much larger at other bagel shops and bakeries, but the big problem was how dry and stale it was, If I lived closer I would have taken it back, but I was not driving all the way back. People were friendly , prices would have been reasonable had this not been a "wish sandwich" , but despite all that it was tasty. So if you are anorexic or eat like a bird you will love it ! Don't get me wrong the bagels are really good here but the owner is extremely rude. She always has a face like she doesn't want to be there, her husband is really nice and sweet and the boy she has working at the counter is very courteous. I just moved across the street and was excited to give this place a try. The BLT+Avocado is amazing. Their bialies and scallion cream cheese also delicious. I read some reviews about the owners being nasty but I had complete opposite experiences. My first time there, the husband owner was very nice and welcomed me to the neighborhood. He told me all about their store how everything is homemade. When I went a second time, I met his wife and she complimented my handbag and we had a nice conversation. Their son is friendly as well. I am excited to try their homemade roast beef. They were sold out of it by 1:30 last time I went, but being it's a breakfast/lunch shop with only homemade items that is understandable. i will be back! read more

One of the worst customer service experiences of my life! I was harassed by the owner for partially refilling my coffee before leaving the store. Mind you, there were no signs indicating otherwise. Additionally, as I was paying $1.51 for my partial refill, the manager complained that I charged my phone at my table while eating my bagel without asking permission.
