Went on a Saturday, at around 09:30 and man, were they packed! A line jutted out the door, but moved swiftly. Those behind the counter, were cranking them out - by the dozen or sandwiches. Happy customers coming and going. Next door is a coffee shop, a perfect pairing. My lox everything bagel sandwich, held a decent amount of lox, a thick shmear of chive cream cheese, loaded with sliced onions, tomatoes and capers. The bagel is smaller than most (fine by me) and had a nice chew, ample toppings. Liked this place so much, that I went on Monday, later on in the day (around 1PM) and requested a dozen bagels, to go. The lady behind the counter, flat out rejected this request, stating those bagels were for sandwiches, only. I was taken aback, because of this comment. I was next door grabbing coffee and decided to stop in because there was a decently long line. If any bagel shop has a line going outside, you've gotta stop in. We ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with strawberry cream cheese and an onion bagel with chive cream cheese. The bagels were bomb! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The cream cheese to bagel ratio was perfect. I overheard a few orders for BECs and sausage egg and cheese and it smelled delicious. Also, the gentleman taking our order who I assume may also be the owner was so pleasant. He even reminded us to grab napkins on the way out. This is the best bagel spot in town! I've been coming here 3-4 times a week since I moved a few minutes away and I am always super happy with my food. Everything is always so tasty and fresh and they have never messed up my order, which is always highly appreciated. The area itself is small and there are no seats for sitting, but like they say, good things come in small packages. We walked into Holmdel Bagel Market and trusted it would be good based on the steady flow of customers. We both got Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches. It was 100% one of the most perfect bagel sandwiches I've ever had. The bagel was soft and fresh but not overly doughy and there was an ideal ratio of egg to cheese to meat to bagel. One of the worst moments of enjoying a bagel sandwich is biting into it and the contents smoosh and fall out. That wasn't a problem here. I also love that they have whole wheat everything bagels because they're my fave! The staff was very friendly and personable which I'm sure isn't easy when you have to be up and functioning that early. Secondly and most importantly, the people running the shop are angels. Twice now I've been short a dollar or five (read first review about the store being cash only), and both times, the owner or staff member girl person has told me to go enjoy my bagels and come back another time. I have been going to this bagel shop religiously for about 3 years now. What can I say? The bagels are top notch, the folks that run the place are friendly, the food quality is consistent. It's just a rock solid bagel shop. Also the prices are VERY reasonable for things like sandwiches (lunch or egg sandwiches which are what I typically get). I think the only negative thing I can say about the place is they should really update/replace some of the counters and stuff inside the shop. It's just old and run down looking.
