It's always a special trip to come home for the holidays and nothing is better after an overnight flight from AZ than a Jersey bagel sandwich to greet you once you land. The bagels here are huge and the perfect texture. Service is always quick and friendly. Sandwiches come with A TON of meat. I ate mine over the course of two days. Ordered a pickup order of an everything egg bagel and a Taylor ham egg and cheese. The app said the order was ready within 5 minutes but when arrived to pick up the food we were still told to wait about 10 minutes. On a positivé note thé bagel was filled with cream cheese and the bagel was perfectly cooked. The Taylor ham egg and cheese was also incredible. I say with the utmost confidence that Barons is the best bagel place in NJ and I live 45 minutes away from both locations. We usually go to Point Pleasant but stop in Brick sometimes as well. I try and avoid this place as much as possible because it's gone down hill so much, but it's on the way home so i stopped in for a couple bagels. Every single time I'm reminded how terrible this place is. Waited 20 minutes for 3 bagels, one being a BEC. tons of people ordered BEC after me and got their bagels within 10 minutes. Whoever is running this place is running it into the ground. They were also mopping floors with some sort of chemical meanwhile the place was filled with customers. the place reeked of the chemical. very off putting. the staff isn't friendly at all. it's truly a shame because this place used to be such a gem. i'd look forward to it every weekend.
