I needed some NJ bagels while visiting and checked out a few places on Yelp. I called up All Star and placed an order for a couple sandwiches and let them know I'd pick out some out of the case to take with me. I arrived and there was only one person ahead of me so I was in and out in no time. I took an assortment of six bagels to get us through the week on top of the hot sandwiches. We both got Pork Roll, egg, and cheese for obvious reasons and I got mine on a jalapeno cheddar bagel. This was the perfect choice and if I were to order another I would get it exactly the same way. The bagels we had at the house were gone in the next few days and I'm glad I got some of the cinnamon raisin because they were so good when I slathered them in butter. Obviously you have plenty of choices for bagels in this area, but I would absolutely recommend checking out All Star. read more

Little Shocked!! Been here many times. By far Best bagel around and I'm from NY. Service has always been above and beyond but..... I'll never go here again!!!! Wife went in and ordered me my usual... scrambled soft cheese on a lightly toasted roll. Took one bite. Roll didn't look or taste fresh. Roll was all cracked up and a little burnt. Brought it back in. Told them I don't think roll is fresh. they told me they get them fresh everyday( my mistake for saying not fresh) and then the owner ( Joe?) came over to counter " threw the box at me" and said " you pick out a roll" I said I don't wanna argue. that's okay I'll keep it but then I said to myself " F You". and walked out telling them @ keep it". Doesn't matter if roll was fresh or not fresh. You don't throw a box of rolls at a customer I never raised my voice and you don't serve a egg sandwich which is usually great all " cracked up and a little burnt. This particular Location was pretty bad the day I came. They only had 4 different types of bagels and arrived around 11ish So decided to go with Salt bagel with PEC and Jalapeño toasted with butter. Pretty simple right? Well the bagel wasn't toasted and they put so much butter that I had to scrape more than half what they gave...now if the bagel was toasted then it would have melted into the bagel.... Sadly was not the case. The other locations in Jackson was always a pleasure to go to. Food is good. But -2 stars for inability to follow simple instructions on a breakfast order delivery. I usually drive here and order/pickup so I can check to make sure order is correct. I ordered for delivery for 1 sandwich, & 2 different bagels with 2 different cream cheeses- (correctly spelled in English). Order arrived very quickly...Got ready to eat ... BF sandwich was great... kid opened bagels and cream cheeses were mismatched. I will still order food from here because it is very good. but maybe next time I'll order everything on the side so no confusion. Their bagels are delicious with many different kinds. They open at 6:00am therefore, I can purchase them warm and serve them for breakfast. There are two stores on Route 37 east & west close to my home. They offer takeout breakfast orders, hot coffee, other beverages and bagel condiments. Excellent service too. read more

I am a customer at All Star Bagels, I'm not sure what has changed there. I got a bagel there today and it was hard as a rock. I'm not a bagel baker so I'm not sure if it was burnt or what. It was terrible!! Lately that location has been terrible during the week but fine on the weekends. I don't know if the baker changed or what's going on there. Right next to an at&t that looks deserted, this bagel store makes its presence known with its delicious bagels. Delicious choices of bagels, drinks, and even chips! I have been going to All-Star for about 1-1/2 years now. Their bagels have always been just OK, nothing spectacular. Recently I have been experiencing bagels that have not been fully cooked. I returned to the store with my non-cooked bagel in hand and explained and showed the staff my mushy bagel. The employee got very defensive and told me that the bagel is just very fresh. I was taken back by the attitude and reply. All I wanted was just an exchange of the bagels. After some attitude from the employee, she gave me my replacements. I understand that from time to time bagels get under or over cooked but don't try to defend the problem when the problem is right in front of you. Also, in the same order, my cinnamon raisin bagel didn't look like a cinnamon raisin bagel. There was hardly and cinnamon or raisins in it. I don't know what's going on at the store but its not good. Especially with the attitudes going on. I hate to leave because the store is convenient, but I think I will be taking my business else where. Mike read more

Being new to the area I try different places for different things. I ask for insight from friends in the area, but mostly I find places by driving by. This was the case with All Star Bagel. The quality, service and cleanliness I rate 5 stars. The bagel was warm with a nice crisp bite to it. The only negative was a smear of cream cheese was a little too much for my taste. I love the wide variety of bagels! They have everything ranging from French toast, honey, banana, blueberry, etc. to the classics such as everything, plain, pumpernickel. I especially loved the mini everything bagel. The flavor of the dough is on the sweet side. They are flat and lacking an airy texture. Today I stopped by here again on the way back from the doctor's office. I was in a hurry and wanted to grab lunch really quick before getting back to work. Although I was previously rather impressed with the place, today I left irritated. I'll tell you why. 1. NOT ENOUGH TOPPINGS FOR BAGELS: I asked for avocado and alfalfa sprouts on my bagel. They do not have it. The only thing they have is lettuce, tomato, and onion. After some negotiation I was able to get red pepper. At a bagel shop where they prepare you bagels with cream cheese, there should just be a larger assortment of toppings available. 2. NO SIDE SALADS at all. There is no macaroni salad, no cole slaw, nothing. The only thing they have is potato chips. I ended up having to go to Wawa after the bagel shop, which really annoyed me because I was in a hurry. I knew this would be my lunch, and one bagel with no topping was just not going to be enough. I should have been able to pick up a bagel with avocado and some cole slaw. Is that unreasonable? No, it is not. They'd make more money, too, if they offered it. 3. BAD PASTRIES: The cookies are processed, long shelf life ones. They do not have fresh cookies or donuts, or anything else available. Everything is in a sealed bag and looks totally unappetizing. So, unless you want to have to pick up a bagel here and then go to Wawa in addition, you might as well just stop once at Wawa and be done with it. read more

First off, as another post mentioned...the bagels aren't your typical NJ/NY style bagel. They are softer but I have to say they are the freshest and tastiest bagels I've had..period! Stopped in on the way home. Roomy bagel spot, with a good amount of seating. The menu was pretty good, some loaded specialty sandwiches and flavored cream cheeses. I opted for a simple pork roll, egg & cheese. You can take the boy out of Jersey, but not the Jersey out of the boy. I ordered pretty quickly, but was in for a wait. Looked like a couple people in front of me ordered for the office. It's ok, I got my coffee at the do it yourself area and watched tv. They also have a wall decorated with sports stuff, get it All-Star? I was able to just look at everything. Unfortunately, I had to eat on the go. The sandwich itself was pretty good. Thin sliced pork roll and a delicious egg with a good amount of cheese. The bagel was a bit soft for my liking. I'm more of a crusty bread guy. The person taking the order on the phone was completely inept. We were placing a large order for our entire office and planned on picking this order up before they closed. Upon arrival, BEFORE CLOSING TIME, I pulled my car up in front of the store front and the lights were off, the closed sign was facing out, the door was locked, etc. I knocked to no avail. As I was driving back to the office, I get a call from a coworker stating that they are waiting for us and to come up and knock on the door even though they are closed!! I already did this !!!! Bagels are super fresh. Sometimes I just like to get a plain cheddar jalapeño bagel and eat it with nothing on it. When the bagel can stand alone on its own merit without any toppings, I'd say that's a good bagel. The people are really nice. They have breakfast sandwiches which aren't my favorite, they over cooked the egg :( my favorite thing is to get a yolk that's just a little runny, so if you like that you should request it cuz otherwise it's a well done egg. They have this maple butter that goes insanely well with the cinnamon toast bagel!!! Gotta try it. They have another location in Manchester too! read more
