Chicken noodle soup and a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with cream cheese
Sean F.

If you like fresh baked bagels and homemade soup offerings then Broadway Giant Bagel is worth a visit. Great value is on the menu here as an order of the soup/chili includes your choice of a buttered or cream cheese bagel!

Simple order-pork roll with ketchup on unbuttered untoasted bagel. 24 minutes to make. Get home-buttered & toasted with 4 thin slices of pork roll. $8.00 for this to be wrong and tasting burnt. This was my last effort-they have gotten too slow and crazy expensive. 4 slices of pork roll and a bagel is $8?

Pretzel Bagel with Butter

This used to be my favorite bagel place to go to as a kid. I would always go for an egg bagel with pork roll egg and cheese and it tasted like a total dream. I'm not sure if they've switched owners since then or what but today I found that the quality has really gone downhill. I tried to order my usual but they were out of egg bagels -- no worries, I went for their onion bagel. Pork roll egg cheese salt and pepper, no ketchup. When I received it, it looked like the bagel had either entirely combusted in their oven or had been manually hollowed out. I saw red stains all over the inside of the bagel, which I've never seen from pork roll before, so I actually think they mistakenly put ketchup on my bagel and then dug out the insides of the bagel instead of just remaking the sandwich. I did taste hints of ketchup too while I was eating it. If that was the case, it's wildly unprofessional (and just plain old gross). The bagel in general also tasted weirdly stale around the edges but was mushy and not crisp in the center. I will say the pork roll inside was at least a good quality. I don't think I'll be returning again. Bummer. Used to be a great place.

This was extra butter !!!! I pay the extra money so I don't have to butter the bagel , do u see any butter at all on here ?!

The bagels themselves were good but obviously the workers need some assistance !!! Here's a picture of my 2 everything bagels with EXTRA butter !

Pretty run of the mill bagel shop with a nice selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches to go along with the bagels. The two bagels and the bacon, egg, cheese, & potato on a kaiser roll we ordered were all good, but not outstanding. Bagels had crunchy exterior and a soft interior, they were neither too dense nor too airy. The sandwich could've used a bit more potato to maintain a nice ratio, but honestly it's ingredient I want them to skimp on if I'm going to be short on something on my B-E-C. What is NOT run of the mill here are the owners, who are extremely engaging, friendly and outgoing. Customer service is a definite plus here. Despite an obviously high percentage of regulars here, my sons and I were made to feel very welcome and at home as we ate lunch after a visit to Insectropolis just down the road. My youngest was even provided with some uncooked bagel dough to play with while we waited for our order to be completed, a very nice touch. So while the product isn't anything spectacular, it is solid and tasty, and the owners are running the kind of place customers should support. Go give them your money, enjoy some breakfast or lunch, and you'll feel like a regular in no time!

$12 egg white sandwich
Matt M.

I was in a rush this morning before the gym and decided to order 6 egg whites with one piece of pork roll on white bread. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves to charge $12 for this! How in the world do you think that's even remotely reasonable?? So this tiny egg white sandwich on white bread costs as much as a large pizza?? I'm a long time customer that will not be returning and I'll make sure to share my experience with others!

The hostess has this look of doom on her face every time someone comes in. Table of 3. Doom. Table of 4. Doom. Table for 2 and a car seat. Super DOOM. Can you move us. Doom. She looks like she's looking across the Cheesecake Factory for a table. And I'm looking like is there another restaurant in the back? Nope. Just doom. We were waiting for a table no big deal. I'm not an instant gratification person. I'll wait an hour for a good place. And they tried to accommodate us by sitting us at a bistro table for 2. I'm like no we'll wait and they're like everyone just sat down you're gonna have to wait a long time and my husband was like OK. This is fine so I just went along with that. First thing you need to fix that table it is wobbly flip it over grab a screwdriver and make it not wobbly. Second take those tables unless you were ordered by a fire marshal to only have that size throw them in the garbage and put four regular tables there. Not round. Not itty-bitty. Four tables for four people it would certainly alleviate the face of doom. No one might wonder God why are you going on and on about the tables well for three people three breakfasts I waited for my food for over an hour so I paid attention to every thing that was around me in the itty-bitty teeny tiny restaurant. The bacon was mushy. I don't know if it was raw, but it was mushy. The parts that were cooked to my liking were really good, but I didn't want to eat it because I just kept thinking is this raw? My last little issue is all the little charges on the bill. I don't expect food to be cheap. I don't expect breakfast to be cheap either. I am realistic. I know that when I go out to eat likely I'm spending a minimum of $100. One of the meals we ordered was steak and eggs so I definitely knew we were spending over $100. However. Charging $.20 for cream for coffee is such a stupid business decision. That stuff gets you one star reviews, and makes old people really mad. Work it into the price of the coffee. The girl asked me what kind of toast I wanted, pumpernickel, some sort of grain bread or I can't remember what the third one was. Why are you charging me for toast? It's supposed to come with my food. Was the pumpernickel toast more money? Why didn't you say that? Why do I have to scour the menu for all these little hidden charges? It's stupid you need to fix that. Overall, I think the place is good, but it certainly needs some tweaking the people running around the dining room with the exception of the girl who is our waitress with the braids just looks lost. Some people got an explanation of the menu. Some people didn't some people look like they come there 100 times a month. And I'm sure there's a reason for that. The food wasn't bad but for a first time it was also my last time cause I don't mind spending $100 on food and sitting down to eat, but it needs to be better then just good and it missed the mark. But for the love of god get rid of those stupid small middle tables they're not even big enough for 2 people. I do wish you nothing but success though. Change the tables and retrain doom face and I'll make it 5 stars.

Not only does the food taste truthfully out of this world, but you will also find that the service is incredible! From the moment you walk inside, you are met with a ton of friendly faces who without a doubt will treat you just like family. They are incredibly kind people who put hard effort into making sure that each meal is prepared with care, and that each person feels safe and comfortable under their roof. I must also comment that I myself am a very picky eater with odd sensory difficulties. It is typically very difficult for me to find many foods or meals that I feel are safe to eat, and that don't trigger any sort of reluctance. However at Thymes, they offer a wide variety of different meals and desserts, so locating something that I felt was both appetizing and safe to eat was no problem at all. I've been a proud frequent flier for the past 3 years, and without a doubt intend to keep going back as much as possible before I go off to college next year. To say that I will genuinely miss Thymes and more so the generous souls that have always been there for me is an understatement. More than five stars if I could. Keep up the amazing work.

And, no I am not awarding four stars for the service approach towards diners ... she did refill my coffee mug once and then surprisingly just took the creamers away without asking (I drink my coffee black but she didn't know that.). Clearly she has favorites because the guy in the booth next to me got the lovey-dovey "hon" treatment. The Sand Castle has a feeling of having been worn down by the waves through the years type of place because many of the booth chairs and counter chairs exhibit wear and even more than a few tears. On a cold November Saturday morning I could feel the chill as I sat in my booth sipping my coffee (And, I wasn't anywhere close to the front door.). So onto the four stars ... but don't say I didn't warn you about service and ambiance. Well, it feels like a shore diner and I like that feel but yea worn out a bit. Quite awhile ago stopped by for dinner and the food was really good with lots of tempting options. I always judge diners by their soup and the soup was top notch! Our meals were enjoyable at a reasonable price. And, then I just forgot to review the diner. But decided to return for breakfast today after a long Friday night. Coffee arrived promptly and was really decent coffee but the amazing part of my breakfast was how quickly the really wall prepared omelette was served. It was like in the blink of any eye and for many a promptly delivered breakfast meal is a real plus (I appreciated it!!!!). Although the waitress really didn't want to be bothered with me the rather short diner breakfast menu had the classics and that quickly prepared omelette was a tasty WESTERN. The homefries were really good ... actually they were great even without onions in them (Waitress never asked if I'd like onions and rushed away so I didn't ask but these potatoes didn't need onions.). Toast was toast and the jam/jelly selection was universally grape jelly with one orange marmalade. A very good breakfast and I wasn't here to make friends just to warm up ooops ok, so I didn't warm up but the coffee helped, and to do some work. Still worth the food if you're in the neighborhood!
