AFTER the install was completed and after my Yelp review. What a shady business. CENTRAL COAST HEATING & AIR DOESN'T PULL PERMITS! THAT PUTS HOMEOWNERS AT RISK! I'm extremely disappointed with Central Coast Heating & Air and feel obligated to warn other homeowners. After some red flags, I contacted the local Building Division directly and confirmed that this company did NOT pull the required permits for the work they performed. That's not a minor oversight; proper permitting is a California requirement for HVAC replacements and major installations, and it protects the homeowner, ensures inspections, and keeps insurance valid. It's in the mechanical code! Instead of being upfront or professional, they pushed ahead without following basic legal procedures. There are plenty of reputable HVAC companies on the Central Coast who actually follow code, take responsibility for their work, and don't cut corners. Unfortunately, Central Coast Heating & Air is not one of them. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you want your job done legally, safely, and with integrity. We have 2 homes with tile roofs as well and one had to have 2 major leaks fixed. One leak was from a nail that was part of the roof install originally but caused a long term leak. Two areas of the tile roof had to be completely removed down to the wood and replaced. The shingles were saved and put back on and you cannot tell it was repaired. The fascia had rotted from the leaking and was replaced. Excellent work.

Coincidentally, the same day the furnace was scheduled for service, we had a flood (sewer stoppage), so we thought we'd just go with the same company. Big mistake. The plumber who came was "after hours" so they weren't going to go through warranty, we had to pay $350 just for him to come. He couldn't diagnose source of the problem... he told us he didn't have the equipment, so they would need to continue the next day. The next day, a different plumber from Jerry's came, who had no knowledge of the previous attempt, but after we filled him in, he said he said could do the work, just needed to get us a price, and then he just LEFT without a word... we called Jerry's and they said first that he had other jobs to go to (obviously we weren't a priority), then said we were trying to pay them for the job through our warranty company (we weren't), and they wanted to be paid privately (which we said over and over, we were going to). After an agonizingly patronizing conversation, it was apparent this company had no intention to actually help us (just collect money for showing up) and was ill equipped to neither discuss nor complete the plumbing work needed, so after 2 days of being unable to use our plumbing, we decided to go elsewhere for our plumbing issue (but Jerry's did decide to cash in on the "service call" though, to get paid by our home warranty!!!) A week later, we tried to check on the status of our furnace repair only to find out from our warranty company that Jerry's submitted a "job complete" invoice to them (again, making sure they got paid for not doing any work), and we were going to be transferred to another service provider bc Jerry's was not going to come out to complete the service bc they received a bad review about walking out on our plumbing issue. It is January, the overnight low is going to be 40 degrees, and Jerry's plumbing and heating doubled down on walking away from their customer, literally leaving us in the cold, without explanation. They clearly explained the problem, walked us through all of our repair options, and showed us exactly what needed to be done.
