Was supposed to be closed for dining in, yet had a bunch of locals hanging out watching tv, with no masks. Place is dirty and completely disorganized. After food was finally cooked, tried to get me to pay again. Clearly not understanding that I had already paid online. Finally let mego after still confused and thinking I was a grubhub employee. My son and I had the Lomo Saltado, Arroz Chaufa de Mariscos and Tallarin saltado. They were simply delicious. They have a lot of variety on the menu. I have had the Jalea before which is the best. Enough for two people. I would highly recommend Nory's when you crave Peruvian food. read more

I was hoping for a lot more out of this place seeing how it is an authentic, family run restaurant. I stopped by here with a few of my coworkers and was thinking how awesome this place was going to be because the the decor screams "I own this joint and can present it with the 'uniqueness' that I want". I order the lomo saltado and found it to be just average. Not saying that it wasn't good, but I have had better at other Peruvian joints. For lunch, you get a soup or salad and bread with your meal. I think Nory's is pretty decent place for a work lunch. It is priced right, family owned, and you get a lot for your money. Based on that, this place gets 3 stars! read more

Nory's can be hit or miss sometimes, but for the most part the food is great. The best time to go is at lunch for the lunch special. You get some bread, a bowl of delicious chicken noodle soup and your choice of lomo soltado, friend rice, and a few other entrees. I recommend asking them about the special of the day because they are not on the menu and are surprisingly good. I had the goat one day and it was great. The ceviche is a good appetizer, but the real winner is the calamari. It just might be the best calamari i have ever had! If you go for lunch you better get there early because if it does get a little crowded the service can be a bit slow. I recommend getting there before 1150 and you should be fine. read more

I enjoyed my soup very much. It was a chicken soup with milk. Flavor was rich and it had some noodles in it. I think they used spaghetti. I got the half size portion but it was a good size so if you don't plan on sharing, don't get the full size. This plate was so big I'm not sure how much bigger a full size would be honestly. I liked the two sauces they give you with the bread. One was spicier than the other. The green one was not spicy. read more

I tried their Tallarin Verde and thought it was so-so. It tasted mostly of Parmesan... I prefer the one at Inka Mama. Their rotisserie chicken was decent. I had a breast piece and it was not overly dry. My Peruvian friend noted it was one of the better one's he's tried, regarding flavoring/seasoning for Peruvian style rotisserie chicken. This was my personal first, so I can't really say. The fries that came with the chicken were oddly good and I'm not usually a fan of thicker cut fries. We also had the ceviche (all fish) and that was good. Tangy lime juice and onions, but not overwhelming. It comes with the crunchy corn nuts (forget what they are called) and a slice of "peruvian" sweet potato (forget what that's called... not exactly like the yam/sweet potatoes you're use to seeing in the So-Cal markets). Loved the sweet potato too... it was so good with a little of the ceviche juice. I don't know if I'd make my way again since it's a bit out of the way for me and from what I heard their other dishes are so-so. Their specialty is the chicken. If I feel like chicken I may come back. But when it comes to Peruvian food, I crave the tallarin verde and chupe de camarones... For me, there are other Peruvian restaurants that are more convenient for me with a variety of dishes that are done well, if not better. read more

VERY disappointing. We love Peruvian food and my husband lived there for quite some time, so he knows what's good and what's not. First of all, the restaurant itself is just not pleasant or homey - the smell when we came in was like an old warehouse. Only one other couple was there. My husband got the pollo saltado dish. He said the chicken was fine but the rest was greasy. I tasted a piece of the potato and it was cold, dry and stale tasting. Really not good at all. I had a shrimp dish and the shrimp tasted like they were frozen battered shrimp in some sort of sauce - not really bad but very bland, and somewhat greasy - on a couple of pieces of limp lettuce. And, strangely, they do not serve beans in any of the dishes. We won't be going there again. We left half of our plates and did not take home leftovers. There is absolutely NO comparison to Inka Mama - it's like night and day. Frankly, I have been kind of angry about the place - like how do they have the nerve to serve such bad food! read more

I found this restaurant under DoorDash and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Lomo Saltado and love that they don't include cilantro since I hate that. Unlike another Peruvian restaurant, they don't cheap out on the bread when you order a delivery order. They included that, along with the green spicy sauce and butter. I really wanted to love this place, and I tried to find reasons to at least give it three stars but unfortunately, Nory's is a solid 2-star in my opinion. First of all, it was extremely hot and stuffy. There was one small fan in the entire place but it wasn't even on. I was sweating just by sitting there, and I'm not someone who is prone to random sweating! The service was good. Nothing special but nothing to complain about either. Food- well, the complimentary bread consisted of two smashed hot dog buns...at least butter came with it, and it was free. I don't remember the exact name of my dish but it was the seafood spaghetti dish. There was plenty of shrimp, squid, and what I think was baby octopus (either that or squid tentacles) but it all VERY over-cooked and completely flavorless. The pasta was pretty good with thesmall amount of lemony sauce that was on it. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing overall, especially considering it's a fairly pricey place. Neither the atmosphere nor the qualirty of the food warrant prices in the $13-15+ range. I think Nory's has a lot of potential but they seriously need to focus on quality and freshness, and they badly need to update the interior of the restaurant. If they remodeled I might be wililng to at least try it one more time and just choosee a different entree, hoping for the best. But as it is, I have no intention to go back. read more

Great portions! It's a little pricey but you'll be in a food coma after so it's worth it. I tried the arroz con pollo and it was very nostalgic since I used to live in South America. The people there are pretty friendly. If you speak spanish, even better! The location is pretty remote but plenty of parking. I like Nory's so I feel I gonna put in my two cents about this place. It has an extremely homey feel. I often come here for lunch and the place is run by two middle-aged guys who usually has the flat-screen TV on tuned to some soccer matches. (My husband really likes that). Servings are generous and I usually get two meals out of a visit to Nory's. Lunch specials consist of bread, soup/salad and an entree of your choice. I love the bread that they serve - it's just warmed-up normal hot dog buns but it just works so well with the two sauces they serve. Both are spicy but I love the green one even more for its extra kick. Husband and I always work our way through the bread sauces very quickly! The chicken soup is tasty too and comes with some noodles and veggies. Best for cold days or when you feel like some nourishing soup. For entrees, I always get the lomo saltado de pollo. It's my favourite and I love the sauce and fries. I'm always full by the time my entrees come, thanks to the soup and bread, so I always take most of this dish home to savour another time. My husband alternates between the rotisserie chicken (super yums!) and the beef fried rice, which is not too shabby. This place wins in terms of food, atmosphere and value over Inka grill/Inka mama. read more

I've tasted my dining partners food and never liked whatever they ordered nearly as much as my favorite.....Jalea de Pescado. OMG if you love fish you will love this dish. It's a huge piece of fried red snapper with fried calamari, fried shrimp, fried yucca, a giant pile of pickled red onions, tomato, and topped with lots of the toasted corn (like corn nuts. lol) Delicious. Love Nory's Restaurant. We came here after discovering that Inka Grill didn't have what we were looking for, whole Peruvian chicken. We were looking for a good family meal to go and got a couple of chickens and lots of sides. Everything was wonderful tasting so we've been back several times and are working our way through the menu. I went to Nory's today for Lunch, I ordered the Soup to start, then Orlando the owner start yelling at me for just mentioning that I'm allergic to Vinegar and lomo saltado is already vinegar mixed in . There is not customer service in this place, I got indigestion on my way home. The few times that I go to Nory's, but now that he show his ugly side, Not going there any more. I love this place. im literally there every other day. im 18 now and i have been going there since i was 7. The owner can seem a bit intimidating but start talking to him and he is really nice. hes like the strict dad you never had. haha but hes got a great interior. The food is great and so inexpensive especially at a time like this. I love the chaufa de pollo with the soup. Its sooooo good and so delicious.. I am in love with this place. Lomo saltado was by far the best I've had... and the aji.... the aji was delicious! The food here tasted like your peruvian grandmother made it... very "comfort food"-ish. The portions were generous and as a fact, they do not sacrifice quality for quantity. I want to like this place, but I can't think of a compelling reason to return when I can get tastier Peruvian food by driving a bit further to Inka's (formerly El Pollo Inka) in Anaheim. From Irvine it's almost a draw distance-wise. Hubby ordered lomo saltado (beef strips sauteed with onions, french fries and tomatoes and served with rice), and I ordered bistek a la pobre (steak topped with a fried egg, served with rice and plantains). First, the good. My husband's dish was tasty and attractive. It needed the highly touted green sauce to spice it up, but otherwise was on par with other Peruvian restaurants. And the not so good. I love my carbs and was disappointed on all fronts. The rice seemed a little dry and not so fresh, the rolls were more like hoagy or hot dog buns, and the fried plantains were a bit too charred with an almost metallic taste. My steak was rather bland and dry and the fried egg was not at all brown and crispy and delicious as I expected it to be. Perhaps it was an off day or I just got unlucky with my meal selection. A bit pricey considering the lack of ambiance and ho hum Lake Forest location. read more

I've never had Peruvian food before so I don't know how authentic it is. The meal started out with a toasted bun and butter with two different hot sauces. It was followed by a really light chicken noodle soup that was very good, not too salty. I had the beef strips, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, and french fry stir fry and it was tasty, but it was also a little greasy. The french fries were an interesting contrast to regular potatoes. It wasn't busy so I found the service to be okay, but not great. The person waiting on us was prompt with the meal and the payment, but there were no water refills or anything like that. read more

Since I work in North OC, my usual spot for Peruvian is lunch at Mario's Peruvian in La Mirada (excellent food, btw), but I thought I'd see what something closer to home has to offer for dinner. So after reading the Yelps on Inka Grill and Nory's, I decided to give this place a try for dinner. It was actually not crowded for a Saturday night, but that might be because of the location, which is in an industrial area. From what I've read, they do get a good lunch crowd. The bread they brought to the table was a warm grilled French roll... nothing real spectacular, but not bad either. They give you two sauces at your table for putting on your bread and meal... a green sauce, which I've seen at other Peruvian restaurants, and a orange/beige sauce, which was spicier than the green one, but was just as flavorful. We had an appetizer, which name escapes me right now, that was sliced boiled potatoes smothered in a light, spicy cheese sauce. Muy delicioso! Good thing I had the bread to soak up all the extra cheese sauce. For my main dish I had the lomo saltado, which is kind of like a fajitas dish... deliciously seasoned beef strips grilled/sautéed with red onions, tomatoes, and French fried potatoes (I know, fries in your meal sounds weird, but actually tastes excellent). For me, my plate that night had way too many onions (and I love onions), but my experience with this dish at other places is that you never really get an even balance of ingredients. Of course I would been happier if they had given me more beef! I washed it all down with Inca Cola, which in case you haven't tried it yet, is a delicious concoction from the Coca Cola company that tastes like a bubble gum cream soda. Based on my dining experience, I recommend this place and methinks that I will be coming back soon to sample some more of their Peruvian cuisine. read more

I usually get the lomo saltado or arroz chofa (sp?) from this place and it's usually when I'm really hungry so it always tastes good. I bought me and a co-worker lunch from here and it was VERY expensive, had to knock down two stars for that reason, otherwise I'd say check it out. read more

Nory's has the best Peruvian food my family and I ever had. Their Parihuela seafood soup is extremely good and they are generous with the amount of seafood. We also ordered Picante de Mariscos which also excellent! Their service is also very good. We will get more takeout soon. read more

As much as I love the food, the customer service isn't great, it's definitely worth the 20-30 minute wait for service once you taste the food though.
