Angel hair with tomato sauce which

This place is so awesome! The food is delicious and the service is friendly and quick to fill our drinks and to provide us what we needed with our meals. We came for an early dinner, had shrimp entrees with veggies and potatoes and it was all delicious. My husband had angel hair pasta with a tomato sauce which was great too! The restaurant is inside of a small market with wine for sale. You can purchase a bottle to enjoy with your meal if you like which is nice.

WE LOVE VILLA ROMA MARKET. This place is an absolute gem. The food is fantastic, the service is always on point, and Daniel is the man. You can feel the heart in this place--Chef gives back to the community, and it shows in both the hospitality and the vibe. Craving Argentinian? Check. Italian? Check. Sandwiches? Got 'em. Beer and dessert? Yes and yes. The paella is amazing, the lomito especial is straight fire, and don't miss their Tuesday and Wednesday deals. It's the best time to treat yourself without breaking the bank. Seriously, what's not to like? This is one of those rare spots that has something for everyone and absolutely nails it.

While they were friendly here, the food was merely average. My husband and I have been here a few times since we used to live in the area and always love supporting local businesses. The food was made to order quickly, but there wasn't much in terms of quality. Not bad, but also not worth rushing back for.

I absolutely love Cambalache in Fountain Valley, so I had to try Villa Roma since it is close to my sister's house. We ordered beef empanadas, the Linguine Fra Diavolo, and the Chicken Pomodora Sandwich. They were all amazing choices for us. The sandwich definitely took the prize and we wanted to go back and get it almost immediately. When I picked up my order, the cashier was so kind and we spoke for a bit. This restaurant gives back to the community and its is clear they care about their customers. It was lovely to see some items available to purchase. The kind gentleman also let me know there is live music on the weekends on the restaurant side. I will definitely be coming back!

    Chicken Empanada Argentina

We love coming to this place to support not only local but order "to go" their Argentinian empanadas. They are the perfect size, full of flavor and not oily at all. I love the chicken, spinach and beef. The meat is soft, and seasoned just right. The owners are very sweet. The vibes inside are roomy, full of design and just overall a great place to enjoy with friends or family. I've only tried their empanadas so I really need to actually sit down and try other things on the menu. Oh and plenty of parking space outside. Right now there's construction going on in that area but still can find room to park.

Entraña Villa Roma 6oz skirt steak, with "chimichurri" sauce

This is a restaurant week review for 2026- excellent lunch spot!! Villa Roma has a market/deli feel with fresh bread, a few aisles of goodies, and a handful of tables in the center. We arrived and were quickly seated, given both the regular and restaurant week menus and placed our order for 1 Entraña Villa Roma (6oz skirt steak, with chimichurri and fries) and 1 Fettuccini del Compare (chicken fettuccini with sun-dried tomatoes in a delicate sauce). Both lunch entrees were paired with the bread pudding dessert option since we can't resist a good bread pudding of any kind. The server also brought over some table bread and butter while we waited for our lunch entrees. The meals came out quickly and were both incredibly tasty. The steak was fabulous and paired wonderfully with the chimichurri and the garlic fries. I'd get the fries on their own every time I return. The pasta dish was tasty and larger than expected for a lunch portion, and the sauce was just as described-- a delicate Alfredo that wasn't too heavy or buttery with hints of that sun-dried tomato taste. Good amount of chicken too. I couldn't finish the pasta so I have a nice amount for later, and had to take the bread pudding to-go but grabbed a spoonful and found it to be incredibly satisfying. We also ordered 3 empanadas with chimichurri sauce and will report back, but I can already tell you we'll be back to Villa Roma again. It seems like we've uncovered a south county hidden gem!

Entrada (Grilled Skirt Steak) with chimichurri sauce

Have wanted to try this restaurant out because of how much support the owners have during the Eaton fire. Got the grilled skirt steak, vegetarian pizza, and the insalta del giorno. Steak was well cooked and flavorful with the chimichurri sauce. Very large tasty shrimp with the salad. Americanos were tasty as well. Plan to return in the future to try more of the large menu.

Villa Roma catering did an awesome job with the dessert bar and food bar. Definitely recommend for your corporate events.

1 of 2 bogo $21 for both pizzas! Amazingly good deal!

It's been since 2016 since I've last written a review so I'd say it's about time for an update don't you think? Plus it's even more significant sense I feel it's just as good then as it is now. So this review is for the deli side that's open for lunch and definitely more casual than the dining side. The things I love most about this place, especially in today's economy is my favorite bang-for-your-buck items! 1. Tuesday empanadas! Still $1.25 and they don't really advertise it at all. another secret 2. Wednesdays BOGO pizzas!! They had this about 1 year ago and it's still here, amazing! The pizza is of good quality and cheap. Most pies range from $17-$20 so a BOGO makes it a great Bang for your buck! Again these 2 deals they don't advertise at all strangely enough but I do see it if you order online. Staff is friendly and place is kind of small but there's always a table or 2 available!

    uncooked empanada

everything ‍ starting with food, service . I am tired of getting empanadas that have not been cooked well. The dough is still raw and the filing is popping out the seams. Waiting for another empanada place to open soon.

What a hidden gem of a place. Don't let the sleepy building or the older crowd fool you, this place has the best Argentinian food in OC. Having Quilmes Beer with Argentinian style Empanadas, I felt like I was back in Buenos Aires. Oh, and if you like to dance, the music that night by Eric Torres was phenomenal, covering best of Central and South American and for that alone we would be back!

This restaurant has consistently been one of the better Peruvian spots I have tried and it always feels like a treat when I come here. My favorite dish is the breaded steak. It comes out with a crisp coating, tender meat, and a side of tasty rice. The small salad on the plate has a simple vinaigrette that brings a fresh, bright flavor to the meal. Before the food arrives they bring out complimentary bread with a spicy green sauce. It has a little heat but it pairs so well with the bread that you keep going back for more. Service has always been warm and welcoming. The staff checks in at the right pace and makes the visit feel relaxed. The restaurant is clean and well kept. It sits in a town center area with plenty of shopping and activities nearby, which makes it a convenient place to bring the family. Sometimes parking can be a pain, but it's manageable. I highly recommend it for families, date nights, or anyone who wants something different from the usual dining options.

It is good. It is the same price at the beef version but understandly so. The chicken meat was grilled tenderly, and the slice of ham it came with added the saltynesss the sandwich needed. Simple but effective. Also chilies adds great flavor too. You can ask for it on the side to adjust spiciness to your preference. Capicollo, one of the cold sandwich, was fine but nothing to write home about. Atlas or wings ($11.99/lb) here remind me of the ones I used to get when I was younger... I like how the spicy version is still deed fried and not saucy. (Personally prefer dry rubs.) The heat can creep up to u after a few. But not all wings are created equally, might end with with some tiny more battered ones along with regulars. Wait times can be longer during lunch times - waited 30 min for takeout during weekday lunch hour.

Who said you can't review a closed restaurant? I checked Yelp's policy, and there's no restriction…read moreon reviewing a closed one. But why am I writing about food from a restaurant that has already closed? Let's begin the story. It was January 2023 when I walked into the restaurant. A Messi poster in WPAP (Wedha's Pop Art Portrait) style was hanging on the wall, and a FIFA World Cup Trophy sat on the counter. It was less than a month after Argentina won the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with Messi as the team leader. They were also selling thermos flasks and phone cases painted with the Argentina football team. I had known this was an Argentine restaurant for a long time, dating back to 2016. I used to live in Glendora Village, just a ten-minute walk to the restaurant by crossing the railway. I didn't know the word "empanadas" before I came to Rika's, even though I had eaten similar food before. In China, there is Uyghur/Muslim food called "baked dumplings," stuffed with seasoned minced lamb, which are almost the same as empanadas. Compared with deep-fried empanadas, Rika's baked version was less oily, with more wheat flour aroma. Their empanada wrap also had a hint of sweetness, which made it very special. The first time I walked past the restaurant, on a random afternoon in 2016, I ordered four different empanadas to take away. At that time, they were $2.35 each. The restaurant was so kind that they wrote the flavor names on the food box. I still remember the experience-those empanadas were hot, aromatic, cheesy, and well-balanced. I was too full to have dinner that night. Later, I brought my family and friends to dine there. Not only were the empanadas delicious, but the deep-dish pizza, salads, and other dishes were also excellent. Let's talk about the empanadas. They had 16 different fillings, from simple ones like beef, sweet beef, spicy beef, ham & cheese, blue cheese, and onion & cheese, to more unique ones. What was interesting was that each filling had its own shape. Regular beef was half-round, sweet beef had both corners folded up, spicy beef had only the left corner folded up, and so on. FATAY (Arabian empanadas) were triangular, while bacon & prunes were square. I tried almost all the different fillings, and they were all good--never disappointing. Even after I moved to Pasadena, I still went back there. Then COVID-19 came. The restaurant closed for a short while, then reopened for takeout only, no dine-in. By June 2022, the price had risen to $2.85 each. By January 2023, it was $3.10 each. By June 2025, they closed permanently. I miss Rika's empanadas. I hope the chef is still baking them somewhere else. If so, please let me know.
