When I was looking for a car wash place, this is one of the top ones Yelp recommended to me, and when a friend in the neighborhood said this is the one she goes to that sealed the deal. I got there at a good time--it was raining so I guess no one was interested in getting their car washed; there was literally no one there but me the entire time I was there, which based upon the other reviews may be unusual. Better for me because I had six or seven guys working in my car so it certainly sped up the process. Since I had removed all the junk from my car AND had un-installed my daughter's car seat so I could clean it and wash the fabric, the rain was not about to keep me away. I asked for their ultimate wash, as well as conditioning the seats and a hand wax. They were done within 30 minutes, and my car looks great. I'm going to get it detailed closer to summer, but the cleaning I got here makes me feel so much better and now I can put that full detailing off for a while longer. The car is shiny inside and out and now I'm not embarrassed for people to see inside my car! Although there's a place much closer to my house (it took ~15 minutes to get here; the other place is maybe 2 minutes away) they have better hours for me so I'm pretty sure I'll be back and keep racking up stamps toward my free wash. read more

After a 45 minute wait you would expect them to do a good job but they hadn't even washed parts of my car. I've gotten better car washes at the drive-through where they don't even dry left with water spots and dirt on my car. It's a shame they're local, but they're horrible. read more

I am really surprised at the overall rating for Notwood Park Hand Carwash. I've been coming here for at least 10 years. If I go anywhere else (due to the need and current location at that time not because I'm trying to find a new place) NPHC is always the bar I'm comparing to and I haven't found a place that raises the bar above NPHC. So you might be asking... why only 4 stars?! Well their credit card machine doesn't always accept my credit card (Capital One) and then I have to pay cash or use another card. It's happened so often that now I just make sure I have the cash with me when I go... a bit of an inconvenience but given the way my car looks after I've run through it's worth it. read more

So waited 45 minutes to get in the wash bay, which was expected for an early bird car wash. However I paid for the wash 3 - dress inside of car, tire dressing , exterior wash, vacuum, and dry. When I got there the vacuum broke so they had to fix that . Then I get in car and see dash not cleaned or dressed had to ask them to do it. I look and floor matts are filthy and they didn't vacuum back seat or wipe down the back . Also it felt rushed car has water spots and inside windows were filthy . For $19 bucks I'd rather go down the street to Austin and get a wash. Very disappointed read more

If you have time on your hands for a good car wash, I would go here. It was 1040am on a Wednesday morning. There were two cars ahead of me when I arrived, the garage door was closed. About 10 min later, the door opened, and one car went in, and I moved up in the queue. When it was my turn to enter, no words were spoken. I've been to a similar car wash before, so I knew to leave my car running, doors unlocked, and key in the car. I went straight to the waiting area where there was no cashier, so I just sat down. The garage area fits maybe about 6 cars. There were still 4 cars ahead of me, so I knew it'll take time. Several Instagram reels later, a guy came in and rang me up. I had 'checked in' on Yelp and got a $2 off coupon I was able to use on the spot. Finally, my car was at the end, but it took them another 10 minutes or so to completely dry the car, vacuum, and wipe down the dashboards and mirrors, etc. They were working hard cause I know how dirty the inside of the car was, thanks to my toddler! From start to end, it took about an hour. The car didn't smell good ( I didn't ask for a freshner), but it looked a lot better. Some stains on the seats were not completely removed, but I probably had to pay extra, and I really didn't have the time to wait any longer. Bring cash for tips! I've taken my truck here twice this winter. They do an amazing job hand washing! Everyone is nice and friendly too. There's a strange small entrance but it wraps around the block. They had a greasy film on them. The guys washing my car were more busy looking at a young girl there getting her car washed then focusing on washing mine. IDK I used a real old gift card which was $15 and paid another $5 for a 2014 Jeep and haven't had a hand wash in 2 years. So this was important (as far as my business)I'm a Uber driver and needed areas I generally don't see to be cleaned. I actually tipped $20 and was a bragger about it just so I'd get a little more time. Cars weren't backed up any crazier then usual (no line of cars outside). And they missed so much. I got home and was doing more cleaning for probably 30 min. And it was all stuff that I lightly touched. I guess I sound like a puss but this is wager I paid for. Car wash was ok, they forgot to put one of the mats back in the car. I hardly ever go here, so I likely won't go back hoping they still have it. Also, I noticed the car in front of me was hit by a worker throwing a brush over the car. I'm sure the pay is low for the workers so I get the frustration but the care around the cars leaves a lot to be desired. Now if you do go there and they do a good job leave a good tip because you know they aren't making much money here. This place is not too far from me, and seriously, every time I drive by it, there's a line of cars, lined-up from the garage door entrance, that wraps around the building, to the side street of Sayre, sometimes even past the Metra train tracks. I always wondered why would people queue in line for that long. Is it a hidden front for something else? Bikini carwash? (sex sells, there's no denial) Free buffet with carwash? The answer is "No" to all the above (I was really hoping for a buffet). The gf wanted her carwash from this place, so I grumpily decided to wait in line. This particular Tuesday afternoon at around 12PM, there was only two-cars queued up. I waited in line at 12:11PM. Keep in mind, I never been to this carwash, so the way they do things was all new to me. I was able to pull-in the car into the actual garage by 12:18PM. An employee will motion and guide you to where the car needs to be. Once your car is literally inside, leave the keys in the car (or at least thats what the guy in front of me did), get out of the vehicle and walk toward the back of the place, where there's a waiting room (fully closed-off and ACed). This place offers a 100% hand car wash. It surely does! The inside of the garage fits about 4-5cars. So far no one has really acknowledged me since I got in, except for the one person who guided my car in. Inside the waiting room, there is a TV that had Fox32 news on, a water cooler, coffee, and about 8 seats with end tables in between the seats. There's also signs along the walls offering car air fresheners and your car washing options (see attached picture). I sat there for awhile trying to figure out what to do next. Every 5 minutes or so, a staff member would open the door to the waiting room, call out the car, and the car owner would grab the keys from said staff, said thanks, and drove off. After about 15-minutes, a staff member walked in the waiting room and stood behind the register. 3 other people who were waiting, quickly got up and queued a line to pay. So, I guess this is where/when you pay. When it was my turn, the person said it was $13. At this point, my gf's car was already being washed, so I guess I should have told someone beforehand that I wanted the more expensive option. Oh well, not dead set on it, so I didn't make a fuss. I didn't have the cash on me, so decided to pay with my credit card. Receipt came out, and it said $15. I pointed out the price, and the staff member quickly apologized, and gave me $2 back in cash from the register. Pro-tip: As of July 2018, save $2 via Yelp checkin! After I paid, I sat down. The person behind me was charged.... $15. What the heck? After waiting about another 5-7minutes or so, car was all ready. The ended up vacuuming the inside, clean the inside, and did a really good job of the outside as well. I saw them wipe/dry the inside of the windows and vacuumed the trunk too. Overall, very good job! After I pulled out, I checked the time -- 12:58PM. So yeah, it took about ~50-minutes, with two cars spilling-out the garage door. I would estimate about 5 cars were ahead of me. I'm not complaining, just pointing out details. So yeah, if you have time to wait, for a really good hand carwash, definitely check out the place! I recommend it, but only if you have the time. Some other Yelpers also mention the long wait, but if thats not an issue for you, definitely come here, as the prices are really reasonable. read more

This is a great place to get a cheap, hand car wash. They have a huge staff and get the cars in and out quickly. They have a $10 early bird (before 10) special and $13 after that. The wash includes a thorough exterior and interior cleaning. It isn't the best wash in the area, but the price and speed cannot be beat. The will vacuum out everything and shine the windows. Lines can bend out down the side street, but again it moves quickly. Despite their speed, I have never been let down with a sub par car wash. They have a $2 off with Yelp check in offer. Be sure to take advantage of that if your car needs some love! They also have a customer loyalty card that will get you a free wash after 10 visits. read more

As I write this, I am so furious at the half-assed job on my car. We are not new to the car cleaning. We have been loyal to one place for a few months now but we wanted to try this place out because of the close proximity to our home. We arrive an hour prior to Closing on Sunday, February 22. We see that this place is bustling with cars lined up waiting for their turn to get their cars cleaned by this establishment. We fall into line and patiently wait our turn. At this moment, I see that cars are getting in and out of there quite fast (which makes me wonder if they are really getting in those hard to reach places and crevices). We get the Ultimate wash which was a few bucks extra for the leather treatment and some scents sprayed in, everything came out to $25. We wanted to make sure that my WeatherTech mats in front were going to be cleaned with this wash because we really didn't mind paying extra for that service. The cashier assured us that the WeatherTech mats get cleaned with the ultimate wash. I really had high hopes for this place and I was immensely let down by the quality of work that they did. We were in the garage and out in 15 minutes. Everything seemed a bit rushed (I wonder if the quality of their work was compromised by them trying to close on time). Earlier that month, I spilled some coffee next to my cup holder and I was expecting for that to be cleaned along with some wiping down of my dashboard at the very least. Upon further inspection of my car, there was a soapy residue, WeatherTech mats not very clean at all, dashboard still dusty, and my car still dirty in some major areas exterior wise. My car smells good, that's about it though. I feel very swindled. What did I actually pay for? I am very disappointed at the quality of their work and I don't think we will be returning due to this experience. I understand the need to rush because they wanted to get home or whatever but when it comes to providing a service I paid for, I expect my car to be treated like they really cared about their job and weren't rushing us out of there. read more

I used to love coming here until this last time. They didn't clean my mat in the trunk. I realized because I had gone to the beach that week and there was sand everywhere. I noticed the guy quick vacuum the mat and then windex and wipe it. I asked him to clean the mat like they do the rest (which is spraying it down). They also did a poor job cleaning the inside and left it looking super greasy (this has never been done before). This used to be my spot (for the last 10 years) but not anymore. Staff was rude ( no hello or thank you); takes cash only which is inconvenient but, lucky for you, they have an on-site ATM that charges a dollar fee. Actual wash and cleaning was mediocre at best. This is now the third time I've been there. I guess I keep going because it's local, I have never been there when they weren't rude to me. I had a 9 AM appointment for a partial detail and when I drove in and told the guy he acted very put out and he was short with me and told me I hope you understand we don't do your trunk??. Again irritated with me for no reason, I asked for a carpet Shampoo, and he said "what"?!, in an irritated voice, and I told him that the sign says carpet "or" seat shampoo and then he said "oh". He was not happy that I came in for my appointment this morning. I definitely will try to look for a new place so I don't have to keep putting up with this. Always bad customer service.
