The team worked so hard and creatively to find a solution ... way above and beyond; they even stayed after closing hours to work it out. And asked if he could swap my other components off of my old bike onto my new bike and he said yes he could do that so I dropped it off at his shop and a couple days later he called me and said the bike was ready to be picked up! I'm glad my failed attempt at a Seattle bike shop brought me to this very one in Kent. It is definitely a further drive than I would like but worth the service! Andrew helped me picked all the components on the Otso Warakin (which I would so be lost if I did it myself). My partner decided to get one too! Ian bike fitted us and we took it on a test ride. We live in Tacoma and make the drive to Covington to get the superior service at NWTRI and Bike. In the last three years I have purchased three bicycles at the shop: Systemsix, P3 and Trigger. All the bikes come with a service warranty and the mechanics are beyond generous with their time both answering questions and making adjustments. My experience with this shop makes me feel excited to go in and get help compared to the four shops I have worked with in the past where I always felt belittled and judged. Remember that show Cheers? Well this is the bike shop were the employees learned my name and make me feel welcome. After reading the review by Mary M. I felt compelled to write this review. her review is incredulous to me, she brings in a bike box (purchased elsewhere) and demands help in repairing the thing. Just like last time, my experience today was great. Before going in, I had visited a local shop in Seattle, I didn't have a great experience and was suggested a lot of services that I didn't believe my newer bike needed. Remembering my great experience buying my bike from NW Tri & Bike, I decided to give them a ring. I had a great chat with Kevin on the phone, and he entertained all my questions/concerns. There was only so much he could answer on the phone, so I decided to come in to the shop with my bike and get suggestions on what they thought I needed. I was lucky to come in during a rain storm, and the shop wasn't too busy. Andrew took his time, gave my bike a good look, and was receptive to my concerns about the bike and some oddities I was experiencing. He was honest, patient, and a good person to bounce questions off of. Taking in his suggestions and advice, I elected to have some work done. Andrew explained everything he did, what he noticed, and restored my confidence in my bike. He even adjusted some things I didn't even ask him to look into. This is my go to place for bike parts and accessories. They sell items for running and swimming as well. The customer service here is amazing and that alone is what keeps me coming back. As soon as you walk in the store, you're greeted and asked if you need any assistance. They also have bike tune-ups available. I'll be in need of a wet suit soon and will most likely purchase one from here. The shop is small but everything is laid out to where it looks quite spacious. It's also quite clean and very organized. I highly recommend stopping by this shop. It's worth the trip! read more

My son and I took his box bike into this shop and it wasn't ready when I was told it would be. They ordered the wrong part then my son had to fix part of his bike where they forgot to put a part back onto it at. After spending over $100 there I would think it would of been done right. Huge shout out to NW T&B for saving my race last weekend. I had had my bike shipped up to the event and when I received it, I realized that one of the DI2 shifters on the base bar had stopped working. Of course this realization occurs at 11 am on a Saturday a couple hours before all bikes need to be checked in. That said - NW T&B got me in immediately and repaired within a hour. So huge points there!! Also, while they could have extorted me with fees because I was basically over a barrel, their price was extremely modest - to the point I actually felt guilty! Super friendly staff - I only wish I lived in the area as this would be my go-to bike shop, hands down. read more

I enjoy riding bikes occasionally just as a hobby and as a result, I know nothing about bikes outside of how to peddle on one. So when I had an issue with one of our bikes not holding air in the front tire, I walked it in to this little shop and was greeted by a nice lady who I presume to be one of the owners. I explained my issue and she immediately took the bike and stated they'd put air in it and leave it in the back overnight in hopes of diagnosing the issue. Turns out there was an issue with the front tire and it needed to be replaced as a whole. They went ahead and did that quickly and at a very fair price. Fantastic experience dealing with these guys and I would recommend them to anybody. read more

I was on the hunt for a specific bike and this shop came up as one of the retailers for the brand. I called to make sure they had what I was looking for. Despite the fact that they didn't have the specific color I was looking for they had other color options and great pricing so I decided to make the trek. I am just getting back into exercise and cycling again after a long hiatus and several extra pounds (kids!) and was a little intimidated at the fact that this shop caters to triathletes. I immediately felt at ease when greeted by Ian who answered all of my questions about the specific bike I was looking for. It was probably the "cheapest" bike in the shop but he didn't make me feel like I was wasting his time at all, nor did he try to sway me to a pricier bike. He even took the time to get online to make sure the child carrier I use would work with the bike. He made me feel good about considering this specific bike (thanks Ian!) for my needs. The beauty of buying from a local shop versus the big box bike shops is the attention you get. I met Brian next who fitted me to my new bike. He did not make me feel rushed and also answered all of my questions. He took care in getting me precisely fitted to my new ride. I had a great experience buying from NW Tri and Bicycle and highly recommend this shop. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent pricing and the bikes were drool-worthy! This is my new Tri store as we just moved to the area and I get more into multisport in hopes of improving fitness and staying active with something I can do alone as well as with others now and then. Patty was a great help on my first visit and I will be back often. I am really glad I stumbled upon the place. The store feels small but they have plenty of great options for beginners or those looking to spend more money. They have a great discount rack, are very non-assuming, and again, a good selection in a little space. Excellent bike shop particularly if you are a triathlete. I am not, but they are excellent when it comes to Road bike repairs. 3 topnoth mechs who are always willing to help out in an emergency. I purchased a Ti Litespeed road bike and could not be happier with the service. Also a Cervelo ad Cannondale dealer. These folks are great. Brad and Gary are phenomenal. Gary and Brad took a few hours of their time selling me a Cervélo P3 tri bike, and got me fitted properly. My first transaction with them was in 2016 when purchasing a wet suit. They were out of size of their discounted model, and they ordered me the newest model at the discounted price; however, that is not all: they delivered my suit to my triathlon event. I can only say good things about this store. They have always treated me the way I try to treat my customers. I hate pushy sales people, at this store, they don't try and upsell you on stuff you don't need, but give great advice so you can make your own decision. I find their prices to be reasonable. They are attentive and kind. I'm new to the triathlon sport and have lots of questions and they take their time to answer each of my questions. It is obvious that these people are actually athletes themselves and know from their own experience what they are talking about. I am new to the sport of triathlon. I have to say that this sport has been one of the most welcoming sports I have ever been a part of. I started doing research on wetsuits about 3 months ago, worried that I wouldn't find anything to fit this Athena Athlete. I went into NTB last night with the intent of looking around and trying to find a size that fit. Patty was lovely to work with and assured me that we would find something to fit. 20 minutes later not only did I walk out with a wetsuit, but a great deal.
