I really hate to write negative reviews but this company put me in a real bind and has made no attempt to contact me this week. At 11am last Friday I was calling around, looking for a plumbing company to come unplug a sewer line and run a camera down the line; maybe hydro jet it too. Norhwest Sewer said they were heading my way and could be there around 2. Great, I stopped calling and waited; with all those 5 star reviews I can relax; right; what could go wrong. I waited, and then started getting nervous as 2pm arrived, then started texting Northwest Sewer at 2:30, then started calling them at 3:30; they never answered or returned my messages. By 4:00 on a Friday afternoon I gave up and resorted to renting a drain machine at Home Depot. Totally unprofessional. Avoid. read more

Ed w/ NW Sewer Repair was an absolute savior as I dealt with my aging concrete sewer line which had completely crumbled/failed in several spots and was getting infiltrated by tree roots in others, causing my basement to flood more than once. Ed was a honest, straight-shooter, and his prices more than fair. He came out several times to unclog my line then last summer completed a trenchless sewer repair w/new clean out on a portion of my main sewer line. (I received 3 other bids, all so over the top, including one that claimed my fence would need to be taken out beforehand so they could bring in a small bobcat. Like another reviewer mentioned, they all, with the exception of Ed, played on a false sense of urgency.) My plan was to finish up the sewer work this Spring at an agreed upon price. When I recently phoned to schedule the work, I was shocked to receive a return call saying Ed had passed suddenly just a month earlier. The good news is that NW Sewer Repair is a family business and Ed's brother, Mike Moran, has now taken the helm. Initially I was unsure what to expect, however, Mike did not disappoint. He demonstrated the same responsiveness, depth of knowledge, no BS attitude, and follow-through. The sewer line work was completed, on schedule, at a fair price using the same hard-working friendly crew. Great clean-up -- the yard, spotless. In the last year, I had run into Ed a few times in the Magnolia neighborhood where I worked, and he always quick to offer a big hello, remembered my name and our past conversations. In an industry seemingly filled with people eager to just make a buck, Ed was truly a stand out. I am encouraged to see those same values and professional work ethic continue on as a family affair. We had a our sewer back up and after getting the immediate repair fixed, we bid out the pipe replacement that had to be completed to the street. Our neighbors had to do similar work and gave us recommendations. Mike called us back that night and came out to give us an estimate the next morning. His estimate was significantly lower than our first contractor's. Mike and his crew came back to do the work within two days, exactly when he told us he could do it. They were professional and completed the job including the city inspection on time. The whole job took about a day and a half. He had to cut a hole in the driveway but when he left, the concrete was patched neatly. We were impressed with their neatness and they were very thorough. First off we had neighbors that had serious sewer issues and our house being the same era, we wanted to scope to see if we were in for a 'treat'. We had our sewer scoped by a company that does not do any repair work, Hydro Physics Pipe Inspection, which I would recommend doing. Since they don't do repairs they just gave the facts (report) and then it was up to me to find a repair company. I appreciate that aspect since they didn't have any skin the repair game their report presented the discovered information and suggested solutions. I asked them if they had any suggestions of some people they know that do good work. One of the names they gave me is NW Sewer Repair. I called Mike Moran and he was quick to respond, informative and helpful. He reviewed the report and then a day or so later came by our house to see the area in question and what the access was like. Within a day I had a quote that was significantly less than some other companies for the same proposed work. Once I gave Mike the go-ahead (on a Friday) they had the utility locator people at our house Monday morning. Tuesday they came out first thing and got started, and by end of the day Wednesday everything was done. And this was for a repair that was not an emergency. One thing to point out for probably any construction/repair/install work is that often times taxes and permits are not included in estimates. Our estimate was right on the money (plus the extras). If I could give them 6 stars I would. I hope to never have any 'sh!tty' sewer issues again, but if I do...I'll give these folks a call. read more

After our sewer backed up twice in 10 days, we realized our older house's concrete pipes needed the dreaded sewer main replacement. We got a few bids, but Mike's was the most competitive and he could start right away. The work was done efficiently and quickly, and we could hardly tell they were there when all was said and done! We were nervous about the holes that would be needed to be dug since we'd just had our yard redone, but Mike and his crew carefully had everything back in place and looking great by the time they were done. Mike came out in less than two hours. I thought I had a sewer line problem. We do not have a 4 inch clean out for a camera, so instead of digging a 7 foot deep hole and charging me for that, he had his partner get on my roof and run the camera down our exhaust stack. We found nothing was wrong and Mike saved me thousands by finding a way to get it done. He is now my plumber of choice. You can't go wrong with Mike. He is honest and straight with you. read more

Couldn't be he happier with Northwest Sewer Repair's service. I noticed water pooling in my front lawn. The first plumber came out and determined my waterline was busted, and suggested running a new line, even though my house is only 8 years old. This would have been really expensive and a huge hassle. Northwest Sewer Repair correctly diagnosed the problem, which was actually due to an issue with how my irrigation system connects to the waterline. They did some minor digging and replaced the part that was leaking at about 1/3rd the cost of a new line. If I ever have issues again, I'm calling them first. read more

Northwest Sewer did a great job for us! Tree roots got into our sewer line and twice recently we have had our bathroom go unusable at 10pm-not convenient! First off: Ed and his team at Northwest Sewer Repair are highly recommended. Secondly: Many plumbers exaggerate the problem to justify higher fees in the attempt to take advantage of the urgency of the situation and lack of experience from the homeowner. My experience with NW Sewer was the exact opposite. My experience: I had a backup into my basement due to a clogged sewer line in our Seattle triplex. Before hearing about Northwest Sewer Repair, I called out another plumbing company who scoped the line and discovered roots had made their way into my clay pipe between the sidewalk and the street, right under the grassy city right-of-way. They were able to snake ($400 later) and unclog the line but warned of a possible offset and future problems if not addressed very soon. They wanted to dig down 6 feet and replace the offset for $6,000+. The also suggested reline the pipe for another $8,000+. After many Google and Angie's List searches and calls to other plumbers for other opinions and bids, I came across Ed. He was immediately different from the other guys in that he didn't jump to conclusions, start selling me on a solution or pressuring me to make a decision. He simply said he would like to take look and draw his own conclusions. We then scheduled a time for his tech and him to scope the line and locate the roots. Ed concluded there indeed was a clog due to roots, but found a much more long-term and economical solution that involved installing a clean out on my property and jetting the line. He and his crew did a great job, and even worked around the fact one of our renters was moving in around the same time the work was being done. After the line was jetted and cleared, he concluded there was no offset in the line and it was completely unnecessary to replace this section and even more unnecessary to reline. Ed is a very nice guy and a straight shooter when it comes to addressing the problem and not someone who is going to inflate what needs to be done to justify charging a higher fee. My wife and I are extremely happy to have found Ed not only because of his work on this project, but because we now have a trusted professional for when the next plumbing need arises. Mike at NW Sewer Repair was exceptional to work with. When I put my 1931 Brick Tudor up for sale, I was not aware that my sewer system had challenges until the purchaser had the sewer line reviewed with a camera. Since the home sold in THREE days!, I had to immediately find a company who could attend to the line asap. I have been a contractor for over three decades. Mike and his team were beyond efficient. They were given the job one day, had the permits in place as well as utilities marked and completed within a total of FOUR days! I was anxious that the digging had to open up land which may impact my neighbor. Mike and team were very conscientious and put everything back almost as if nothing had happened!! I went out on Thursday afternoon thinking they would have completed their day (as typical in construction currently) by 330p. They were hard at work. Then I went out again on Friday at about 330p and three sets of teams were on it to complete! Here is was the Friday before the holiday week. I was simply refreshingly amazed at the work ethic this team showed. Most of my other teams had quit early to prepare for the upcoming week (lol as if they were all going to make the turkeys). Mike's crew stayed on it and by the end of the day he emailed me stating they were completed!! I highly recommend NW Sewer Repair. This company is very fair in the billing with work that far exceeded my expectations. I pride myself on completing my projects to exceed the expectations of my clients. Mike and team pleasantly surprised me in doing likewise. What they promise to do - will be done! It is never easy to deal with sewer problems, thus you want to choose a company you can rely upon completing the project such that you do not need to redo the work. Bottom line is these guys beat my first estimate by 75% (ruptured sewer line), then after they were finished repairing it charged me $700 LESS than they had said they would...I couldn't possibly say enough...My highest recommendation!!!! read more

Called Ed and his crew after a heavy rain produced a backup in our driveway drainage and our garage had slowly taken on water. He came out a couple of hours later same day and spent several hours diagnosing the issue. Next day they came back and finished the job, professionally and quickly. Ed said that we could pay more to do have them do additional work and tie the drainage line to the sewer like it should have been done at the time of construction but he didn't think the extra expense would be worth it after the repair they did to get things back up and running. The cost was VERY low considering what I figured what we'd be paying for a job like this and the fact that he was the one recommending we don't pay him for more work made me feel like he's a guy I want to recommend to others. Called several companies, most ignored the call. Ed called right back and set up a time to look at our project. He gave us options and evaluated each for us. After we agreed on the price and project, the work was done as promised. Ben, who did the work on the project was not only competent and hard working but also pleasant and helpful. Our 93 Year Old Sewer finally backed up and failed on us. Emailed Michael on Saturday evening and he replied within minutes and said he would be there Sunday @ 10:00 AM to review. He arrived on time, evaluated the situation and said he would be there 1st thing Monday AM with his crew. Within hours of meeting him, Utilities were being marked and his crew arrived promptly at 7:30 AM the next day to begin digging. By 9:30 AM we had a working line and determined the rest of the line needed replacement. His crew works hard. There is no fuss, no drama, just hard work to get it done. Great communication from Michael and all of his crew pleasant to work with. Job Finished that Thursday with Final Permit and everything restored as if it never happened. (3.5 days total). Michael is no nonsense, practical, and reasonable. My expectations were exceeded in every way. This is a great company to work with. read more
