We were lucky to have Brenden as our project manager. He scheduled and coordinated all the work, ensured every little detail was taken care of, communicated with us clearly and effectively, and immediately rectified any minor issues that came up. He was also incredibly patient with us. We were so happy with how the work was progressing that we added additional work to the scope, and he accommodated it without hesitation and without it affecting our promised timeline. Our carpenters, Corey and Miguel, worked on various framing repairs including trims, painting, removing old carpet, installing new light fixtures, and more, all done efficiently and always with a positive attitude. I would come by intermittently to grab things from the house and always saw them buzzing away, while also being super attentive to our needs and any little details I brought up. Their work was outstanding quality. The vendor PCRS worked with for the laminate installation also did an incredible job. We are beyond thrilled with how everything turned out! The icing on the cake was that they finished right on schedule, and we were able to move back in smoothly just a few days before hosting out-of-town guests in what felt like a brand new home. This is an example of what dealing with any contractor should be. After much research I had decided to install the Hardie siding. I wanted to use a contractor who was familiar with the product and installed to James Hardie criteria and specifications. I went to James Hardie's website and searched for contractors that are designated as Elite Preferred. ACAE popped up and had impeccable reviews. Starting with the sales person, Joe, he thoroughly explained what they would do for me. He was knowledgeable and personable. There was absolutely no pressure whatsoever. The bid was higher than the others but after researching (ACAE) and speaking with Joe, I was convinced they were the company for me. In this case, you really get what you pay for. I was introduced to Josh, the Project Manager. Once again, very knowledgeable and personable. Very easy to work with and communicated with me on a daily basis. When problems cropped up, he was always there to offer suggestions on how to proceed. His crew, led by Nikolay with Rosty and Eugene, did amazing work. The workmanship is impeccable; the crew was very organized and professional. They always made the worksite safe and clean; leaving everything spotless when they left at the end of the day. I can't emphasize enough the quality of their work. It was just beautiful. The paint crew, led by Vladimir, once again did unbelievable work; totally transforming the appearance of an already exquisite job. Although color decisions were ultimately mine, Vladimir was always willing to offer a suggestion as to which color to use on a particular area. (I had selected four colors for the primary on the house, secondary for the house, trim and the doors.) These individuals collectively transformed my house (a basic ranch) into a home that I am proud to show off. In summation, I would highly recommend A Cut Above Exteriors if you want premium quality work on your home. You can probably get a siding job done cheaper but I truly believe you get what you pay for. For context: we used All in the Family Services in October 2022. They were friendly and we were…read morequoted about where other people were quoting us. I believe they have a few photos up of our fencing as well. I reached out to Dave to fix some issues I've noticed for months via Houzz where we originally contracted them (said I would need an estimate and pay), and haven't heard back. Ended up finding a phone number off of an old quote and have been in contact with them for almost 2 months with very slow replies, having to send follow ups, now trying to figure out a repair. Issues include: tension cable fencing has now become loose, one cable even completely came out of the fencing, the wooden beams they used are SPLITTING where the cables are connecting because they were over-tightened. Multiple contractors have come out to give me quotes to fix this and they all said I need new cable and beams (upwards towards $600) or a complete new fence unless I want them to completely split or crack further over the next year or so. It has been 2.5 years... and now I'm looking into ways to fix a fence I spent $7k on (total project including the deck was $26k). There's just no way you should be spending that kind of money just to have to fix it in 2 years. Over multiple emails they were stating they'd come out and fix it for $250, and that they can't verify if it was normal wear and tear or an animal that caused it (sagging tension cables are at the top.. no animal caused that). After another week or two they took back that offer and said they'd give me a $250 refund but I'd have to agree to "release them from any claim of fence repair and understand that further work required to said fence is normal maintenance". I denied it. Some other issues I put aside because I just wanted the project done: had to have them come back out to secure my electrical box that was left hanging off, I had to pay extra for a gate latch because they were trying to drill a hole for it but I knew the gate would settle and no longer align with it in the future but kept it there, and I had to reinforce some of the tension cables because they could be moved up and down about 1 inch in each direction. Upon further conversation with my latest contractor, most companies don't do tension cable through wooden posts because they know with their experience that they only last a few years. Tension cables should apparently go through metal posts to keep their integrity. I wish I had known, or used a company with enough experience to know that. It seems All in the Family Services can do projects you request them of, but be sure to do your own research and understand what will last and what won't because they sure don't. My deck they did is great, but I'm now looking at redoing my entire fence to because this one won't last much longer. Look elsewhere for your projects and don't go with this company just because they are slightly more affordable.. you'll be paying for it in the future :/ Photos attached.

There were some highs and lows in my experience with KVN, but with several months behind me to give…read moreme perspective, I believe I can write a review that will be helpful and fair. First are the things I did wrong: 1. I didn't get any other bids so I spent the entire project wondering if I was paying too much. 2. I didn't understand KVN is a contractor only - the trucks that come out to do the work are going to have different company names on them. That information is clearly stated in the contract but, related to #1, I didn't read the contract closely and missed it. So I spent most of the project wondering how much more I was paying to have someone act as a go-between with these other companies. 3. Because of #1 and #2, throughout the weeks it took to remove old siding, put up new siding, put up the gutters, and paint the house I was always on edge and quick to anger when something went wrong. Notable missteps by KVN: 1. There was some miscommunication about a small part of the house that they considered porch and I considered house. When we realized this, first day, I could see their position and asked how much it would cost to add that part. I had three different people tell me they'd get back to me with a cost - they never did. 2. Whoever they used for gutters had to take them down and install new ones twice - it was the third install that finally worked. KVN didn't catch the first errors (but maybe they would have if we hadn't checked first) but they did tell them to redo the 2nd install before we were even told it was done. 3. The painter painted the windows shut. We didn't know that until after everything was signed and paid, so we just fixed it ourselves. But the contractor is responsible for the work of the subs - so I'll call this their mistake. What KVN did right was they seemed to genuinely want me to be a happy customer. I didn't realize how much that mattered until a neighbor was having some work done and I saw first-hand the difference between having a contractor who is hoping to leave the customer happy (KVN) vs. one who just wants to get paid (the neighbor's). Made me think I was ready to write a review, I hope it was fair.
