If there was a 0 rating, that is what I would give this business. If after reading all of negative reviews that have been posted on Yelp, I would say if someone chooses this company to do a job for them, they have to be out of your mind. First off, I found the repairman, Yuri to be rude and condescending. I am the member of a home warranty company. When I had issues with both my washer and dryer, I was assigned NW Home Appliance to check them out. The dryer was repaired, but washing machine was a different issue. I explained to Yuri, the repairman that the clothes still had an excessive amount of water in them after being spun on high. He turned on the washer button and said it was spinning just fine. That was his diagnosis and said there was nothing wrong with it. He said if I had a problem to contact the home warranty company and tell them I need a recall, so that I wouldn't be charged a additional fee for the visit. My clothes were still very wet and I called the company back. I specifically asked that he not be the repair person. The company told me they would request that he not be my repairman. Well, lo and behold, he was the repairman. This time I washed a load of clothes the morning of the repair to show him exactly what I was talking about. My husband was home, when he arrived. He told my husband there is nothing wrong with the spinning process on the machine. Again, he turned on the washer to the spin cycle and said there is nothing wrong with the spinning cycle and told my husband to tell me to make sure I had it set on high. Duh!!! I am 79 and certainly know what spin cycle to set my load on. Each washing cycle I do, is to make sure it matches the type of wash I am doing. My conclusion of the repairman, is that he has never done a load of laundry in his life. I was so mad, I called the home warranty people, again and they are sending out a different repair company. Certainly, they will do more than turn on the spinning cycle as their only tool to diagnose the problem. I am forwarding this review to my home warranty company and hopefully they will discontinue business with this company. read more

I completely concur with the other reviewers. Yuri is the biggest jerk you'll ever encounter. He acts as if he is doing you a favor for which he charges a lot of money. I am stunned that people can maintain a business like this but apparently they do. I think it's probably because people depend on their home appliances so much that once it's fixed, you hope you'll never have to deal with them again. We belong to a contractor referral service and I have had the misfortune of dealing with Yuri twice. He is rude, he disliked my dog, my kids and seemed to be irritated to be doing the job. Yuri came to my house to fix a fridge that was making noise and not cooling down properly. He told me that the reason it didn't cool down was because the cabinet the fridge was installed in was too small and there wasn't air flow and that the noise was normal. I pulled out the manual and showed him that the cabinet was the correct size and that there was no way the noise was normal. He wouldn't hear any of it, and tried to charge me $120 for "customer education", stating that it was my fault. I refused to pay and then contacted the appliance distributor (Fredericks) - they talked to their rep and ordered a replacement unit. Yuri called me back after a few days and threatened to send my account to collections. I told him the story of talking with Fredericks and the specifications for the unit etc. He wouldn't hear any of it and told me he'd be filing paperwork to void my warranty with the manufacturer. Overcharged - significantly overcharged. Along with the excessive charges, he whined and whined. According to Yuri, it's unusual for a washer and dryer to be located in a closet. And machines rarely have to be *moved* to get to the back of them. He asked me move the machines becuase he just didn't want to. He even threatened to leave because they were in a closet. Seriously? I wish i would have let him but he let me know it would cost me $90 for him to just leave. Everytime he whined the bill went up another $50 - $100. I ended up paying $400 for less than one hour of his time and $20 worth of parts. read more

Do NOT use this company. They wildly overcharge for their services. It costs me $334 to get a heating element replaced in my stove. It took him less than 15 minutes. The element itself costs less than $20. The service call is $110 but that just covers them showing up at your door. I will never recommend this company to anyone. I'm delighted with my service from NW Home Appliance -- in fact, couldn't be better. I got their company info from the ASKO website, and was very happy they could fit me in so quickly in the very busy December holiday scramble (turns out that lots of people need to get their equipment fixed during the holidays -- not a slow time at all). My great rep fixed my dryer quickly, showed me how to perform regular maintenance on my ASKO washer, and also sold me a special liquid treatment for my washer that I can perform myself every 6 months. I'd highly recommend service by this company -- they were helpful on the phone, prompt within the time window they promised to arrive, they called 30 minutes ahead of their arrival , and they provided extra advice that I very much appreciated. Agree with the others. The customer service is rude, and arrogant. That, however, I can deal with. What gets the 1 start rating is 1) a lack of effort to solve the problem and circular explanation of the problem. I heard more than a few times that the problem I had was indeed the one I called about and I should appreciate the "identify" of the problem. I don't need someone to tell me what I know. If you cant fix it, then say you cant fix it. Don't simply tell me what I called about. 2) outrageous billing fees, and lack of transparency when scheduling the appointment. True the service fee was revealed when I called. However, what was not revealed was that simply "looking" at an appliance, while not fixing it, also incurs a charge. I have been waiting for someone to show up to my house since 2. It is now 530. I called the office to check on when someone was going to be here, and they said close to 5. It is now well after 5. They went home for the day, without a way for me to get a hold of anyone. I am now stuck. I also have a life. I took 1/2 a day off work thinking they would be a little more responsible. I've never written a yelp review before. This interaction made me so furious. I called them at the recommendation of LG for my dishwasher. The guy shows up on time, but is yawning over and over again. He tells me the reason my dishwasher isn't working is because I loaded it wrong (there was some measuring spoons dangling down after I had unloaded the entire rack to hand wash them). He then tells me that there isn't a problem and that the sound is normal. I then demand that he tries a different cycle after he tries to convince me I'm wrong. He tries it. I'm right there is a sound. He then asks if I get an error code. I tell him the code, he unscrews the kick plate, tells me it'll cost $409 plus tax to fix the problem without proceeding any further than removing the kick plate. I decline services and he watches me write a check for $95 for the house call, he takes the check, then tells me I forgot to add tax that he didn't tell me about to begin with! read more

If I could rate this business a ZERO I would! Yuri, the owner-technician not only lacks any customer service skills, his approach to working with me was straight out of the middle ages! A piece of advice: if you are a woman and are not inclined to answer 'yes sir' & 'no sir' to his commands and lazy approach to diagnosing problems, I would search out another company. Yuri does not take kindly to a woman calling into question his 'professional' assessments. From the moment he walked into our house, he talked over me, did not listen to any of my observations, or sufficiently answer my questions. I would highly suggest he start on page one of "Customer Service for Dummies" and take note: we no longer live in a country where the prevailing wisdom holds that women should only be silent, barefoot, and pregnant! As for his workmanship...another BIG thumbs down. He was referred by LG to fix my warrantied front-load washer. There had been a leak coming from under the drum for a few weeks and, of course, when a "repairman" is finally out to look at it, Murphy's Law kicks in full-board. The washer wouldn't leak when I ran the test wash for him. Yuri wouldn't even bend down and feel underneath when I tried to show him where it had come from in the past. He just pointed his flashlight at the inside seal and pronounced that whenever I open the door, water was dripping from the seal, down the outside of my washer, to the floor. I said in the past I had felt the water dripping out from underneath while it was in the middle of a cycle. He dismissed me, blamed any leaking on my HE detergent and moved onto my refrigerator repair since he "couldn't fix what wasn't broke." I should have just had him leave right then and there, but since I was already into him for the $100+ refrigerator seal he had ordered, I thought I might as well have him spend a few minutes to replace it instead of paying someone else to come out. MISTAKE ... he replaced the seal & then proceeded to charge me $135 for the 10 minutes it took him to do so PLUS a service fee to come to my house! I was afraid if I didn't pay him, he'd rip out the seal and leave me to deal with a refrigerator of rotting food. Sure his highway robbery methods made me mad, but I was actually willing to chalk it up to an unfortunate scam/experience and to never again use or recommend him. That was until I realized the seal was not holding tight ... the condensation build-up around my door seal is so bad that water is leaking onto our floor. I called Yuri to have him come out to "fix what he had broke" and the earliest he could fit me in was 5 days out. I am sorry but if you have the gall to charge $810/hour for your work, you darn well better be at my house to fix it at 3am if that's when I call! The only satisfaction I take ... not only writing my first ZERO star rating on Yelp but gratefully paying my first $35 stop-payment fee to the bank for the check written to NW Home Appliance. Fix my fridge properly Yuri and you'll get paid. And that washer leak? I did a load of laundry the next day, and - surprise, surprise - it leaked from UNDER the washer! i called to set up an appointment, my first mistake. Natalia was rude and i called back the next day, the day of the appointment because i had the model number and thought it would be helpful and i was foolishly hoping they would bring the part with them. Natalia said "truck is gone i don't know if he has the part or not"! OK, should we reschedule since i knew the stove burner was out and didn't want to have to meet the service guy twice. No! she said he has to come and see what's wrong. Yea ok so he shows up and I meet him at the truck. I put out my hand and introduced myself and he looked at my hand like he was disgusted and shook it but not because he wanted to. I told him I had the model number of the stove and thought he would check to see if he had the part on his very large truck. No must see first! Fine follow me. It's the downstairs kitchen so through the house we go when we get there he says please take off items on stove. I said what? what items? On top there, oh for heavens sake there was two little things on the top edge yea ok got it. Then he fools with the knobs and turns on and off a couple burners. The entire time his man never makes eye contact so now i am obviously trying to make eye contact with him. So the burner is out? Yes needs to be replaced. I asked are you going to open up the top to make sure it's the burner? No i heard it click so i know it's the burner! OMG you heard it click is that correct? Is it difficult to open the top of this stove? Oh yes it's very complicated. Really? Your not going to open it now? No. Why not? Oh right because you heard the click. How much will that cost? I have to look. Ok, as he is looking this part up i asked how long will it take to replace the burner once you have it. He says it takes as long as it takes!! WHAT? I said so you have never done this before and don't know or what? He scoffs and says of course I have done this before. Then you must know how long it takes. It takes an hour or more to do the job. How much is the part? He says it is $400. plus the $95. So $495. plus tax he says do you want it? Finally I had had it! I looked at him and calmly said does this nasty, rude, disrespectful attitude that you display work for you because it's not working for me! Your finished here please pick up your things and get out! I have to get my money he says! Oh don't worry you'll get your 95. plus tax he says! OMG I have never met anyone who was so rude and disrespectful and he truly felt he deserved the 95. plus tax when he did nothing except walk into the basement kitchen and turn a couple knobs. I can only imagine that he doesn't get much work with that attitude and needs the 95. plus tax to live on. So unless you feel like giving money away to someone so rude do yourself a favor and call someone else or do what I did and get online to the Repair Clinic where I ordered the part for $150. and there are how to videos. Oh and by the way lifting the top of the stove is two screws! Oh boy now that's very difficult isn't it? I bet the burner plugs in, hope i can handle that too!! I had a great experience. My washer flooded and I called like six places begging for a service call. Northwest Home Appliance was able to send someone out the next day. The repair man was friendly and educated us on what happened. He had the part on hand to fix the broken water pump. He helped us move the washer back in it's place and even cleaned up the floor. Not sure why Yelp-ers are giving poor reviews. When you have good service, you should share the news! read more

The technician just left my home, and I will say that I have NEVER in my life been so disrespected by someone who I have hired to help repair something in my home. If zero stars was an option that is what I would be putting. I was laughed at, mocked, and belittled. He was rude the moment he walked through the door. I was told by the receptionist that we would be able to use the new part that I purchased, the tech told me he won't use the part and he can just go home instead. When it came time to put the water hose back in he informed me it would be another 90$ to just put the hose in because it needed to have the washing drum removed (which it doesn't). He then asked me if I would prefer to do it because 'he knows how to replace it''. I am a very reasonable, accommodating and respectful person.... I also take writing reviews very seriously. After calling their customer service rep I came to find out this technician is actually the owner of the company. As someone who was raised by a small business owner this is just NOT how you treat customers in any way. I will never be using their services again and strongly encourage others to look elsewhere as well. read more

Definitely a good experience all around! Yuri came out to fix our dryer. He was efficient and genuinely nice and extremely professional. He is the only person in the area who services our model of appliance and came recommended by another repair company we trust when they found out what brand we had. After seeing the reviews I almost cancelled, but I am glad I didn't. I was bracing myself for what I read in some of the other reviews and it couldn't be further from what my experience was. I am really surprised that this guy is getting such a bad rap. While not an overly jovial / chatting person like some (which quite frankly I appreciate so I could work while he was working on our appliance since it was the middle of my work day), he got in, got what he needed, and got the job done. All around probably one of the best experiences I have had with an appliance repair company. We had friends staying with us and he chatted with the kids, teased them, and made a joke about our dog who gets beyond excited when someone comes to the door. read more

I was looking for someone to come and repair our Electrolux fridge. After leaving two messages I finally got a call back from NW Home Appliance. I explained the situation to him, I have a warranty from Electrolux and was looking for someone to do the work. I told him I have a number confirming the warranty information. He told me that was the wrong number, funny thing is I hadn't even gave him the number yet. I said how do you know its the wrong number if I haven't even given it to you? He said they could fix it but I would have to pay for it all. Again I said no all of it is covered by warranty and Electrolux would be paying for it. This back and forth went on for five minutes. I got off the phone and called Electrolux directly and said no way I would be using this company for service. I found him to be SO rude and condescending.
