I've never written a review for a company but feel like I should warn people about Northwest. We didn't have a problem with them for the first 9 years we used them, mostly for the critter exclusion guard, and then we got a new roof and gutters last summer. We had the exclusion metal inspected, as we were told to do. We were told by Tim at Northwest that the guys who replaced the gutters had pulled out the exclusion metal in many places and we had to get it fixed for $2,250. We went through with this and had it "fixed" as soon as they could do it in August. At the end of September, I heard something in the wall. Bo came out a few days later, went into the attic for 2 minutes, then told us we had rats. He provided pictures of two burrow holes. He then talked for about 30 minutes about his extensive experience with rats over the years. Bo said we needed to have the insulation removed and replaced, along with getting the exclusion fixed, for the "low" rate of $10,279. Of course we mentioned that they had just been out one month before and supposedly fixed the exclusion metal at that time. He had no answer for why it wasn't done correctly. We got a second opinion and saw pictures of the work that Northwest had supposedly fixed in August, which included large gaps and metal missing from the exclusion. We had the new company fix this work that hadn't been done correctly. We informed the people at Northwest that we wanted the money back from what we paid for work that wasn't done correctly and also for what we had to pay the new company, since we wouldn't have this problem of rats in our house if Northwest had done the work correctly in August. They're standing firm on paying us $2,250, even though they are now saying that the work should have been under warranty with them to fix it all (nobody told us that until after I signed with the new company). I've spoken to a couple of managers at Northwest who admitted that the work wasn't done correctly. The pictures I got from the new company provided proof but they are not budging. If Bo hadn't come out and tried to charge so much, we probably would have gone with Northwest to fix the problem. I'm so glad we didn't because they obviously didn't do the job right in the first place. Please look past the scare tactics that they use and get at least a second opinion before using Northwest. read more

A quick update on my Northwest review. I was contacted by Northwest to remedy the situation. While I felt like it took longer than it should have to hear from anyone, I do applaud their efforts. I am comfortable with their offer and I appreciate them hearing me out. I did ask that Bo's high dollar estimates be reviewed because I've heard from others since my review and I'm not the only one he has tried to scam. My home has had a termite bond/warranty with this company since 2001. We assumed the bond from the previous owner's 12/2023. We have extensive termite damage from one end of our home to the other. I met with the VP today, Peter Schmidt. He was very abrasive from the start. He would even tell me his name, told me to look at the card he gave me. He wants to tear out the sheetrock inside my home to get to the outside damage because it is cheaper for his company. He will determine what his company is willing to fix and we just have to deal with it. I will complete this post once this ordeal has been finalized. I was a huge fan of Hulett, and then Northwest exterminating bought the company and everything has gone downhill. 3 to 4 weeks to get an appointment. The technician arrives at the house, expecting to see active termite activity, as if the owner is going leave the termite debris out for a month waiting for an appointment. I had northwest exterminating for about a year, worst choice I could have made in exterminating. They are slow to handle any requests, they promise and don't deliver, and they are constantly charging your account. Did not see any improvements in service I asked about a rodant issue for a year my problems only got worse with their service. Had to find another company. read more

I'd avoid them if you can. Go with a local pest, family owned or smaller pest control company. I went with them due to knowing someone who works for them, and decided to give them a shot. $2,000 for a rat expulsion....all they did was patch a few spots with sheet metal, and threw a few bait traps in the attic. The tech was supposed to check the traps weekly - and it wasn't until week 3 that he was able to get back to me, despite multiple phone calls. The biggest take away here is that you should be able to find a local pest control company that will offer at least equal or better service, for cheaper. read more

Appt between 2-4. Service came at 3:15. I asked if I should come out with him and he said know he would let me know how things were when he was leaving.. After 20 minutes I went out and he was gone. Called the office and they said they would have him CALL me. So far no call. I am guessing they all memory issues. In 2022 service came without an appt when I was not home and later I was notified that my home was serviced. My camera showed him ring my doorbell and, when there was no answer, he got back in his truck and left. No service was performed. There tactics are sketchy Just got a comment from them asking for my email. No - I get constant calls and texts looking for me to set up an appointment. Terrible! I was a customer of Northwest for several years. Recently, they had a price increase and did not send any emailed communications to their customers. I contacted the office to ask why I was not informed of the price increase when I scheduled my quarterly maintenance. Mandy (or Mindy) did not offer a reason and insisted that I would have to pay for the newly priced services, despite the fact that I received no communication of the increase. I requested cancellation of my services and she hung up the phone. There are better pest control companies that respect their customers and do not engage in unfair pricing practices for their services. read more

I used this company for 4 years. They are generally very nice people, but I'm convinced they have no idea what they are doing. EVERY time they came out, I would get invaded by ants within the next couple days to a week. They always blamed it on rain! Sometimes, it didn't rain! So, when I call to complain recently (and they didn't like what I had to say), they came up without written notice and pulled all of the termite stations and ended the relationship. I've yet to see a refund for the partial service. This a company that will keep telling you that they know what they are doing, and don't like to hear your frustration when they don't meet your expectations. Absolutely the worse termite service ever. We were unfortunately sold to them from a Hullet takeover. And thus far we have only recieved terrible service and results. We purchase a termite bond yearly and this year we have active termites. The 1st 3x they've come out the could not fully treat the issues. We asked for a supervisor who also came out and stated we need to remove our overhead microwave...still no solution. They completely lied about doing our 4th appointment...but thank goodness we have cameras to prove they were a no show. Now they gave us a 8am to 10am appointment and after calling 1130am is their goal time. I will update with additional photos of the results. read more

Nothing but terrible experiences with Northwest. They seem to have trained their "inspectors" to only up sell - even when no problem exists, but also fail to fix problems when they DO exist. In 2013, they were supposed to eliminate rats in the attic. The inspector never even got out of his vehicle upon a recheck. We knew there was a dead rat in one of the glue traps set out in the attic. I asked him if he found anything in the attic and he responded no... Having been their customer for 7 years, we asked for a tech to give us an all clear letter on rodents in the attic...the "tech/salesman" refused unless we paid them to do a full exclusion which we'd already paid someone else to do in 2013. UP SELL. Lastly, we've had a Sentricon system with them for over 7 years at a cost of $280 per year. Now that it's time to sell the house and obtain a termite letter, the "inspector" claims he's found live activity and acted like a smug little boy about it. Upon further inspection, three different techs have deemed it to be old remnants from 7 years ago. The first guy was clearly trying to scare us into giving them more money. STAY AWAY FROM NORTHWEST. NW came out and said they fortified my house. After that, and after rodents kept getting in, NW had to come out dozens of times to address it. I just got off the phone with them after I discovered three dead rats and now they want more money for another warranty. They never fixed the issue in the first place. I will not recommend them and will actively try to deter others from hiring this company for pest control needs. read more

After more than a year of service with Northwest and no resolution of the problem, the kind service technician and supervisor seemed to be out of options. I have no ill feelings towards the staff that visited my home. Good people. The customer service was subpar, and that is being kind. Though this company goes through great lengths to notate each interaction on each account, it took my initiating a response from management and ultimately three, longer than necessary phone calls over more than a month time frame to get a manager on the phone. I was told the first two calls that I made that I would be called back the next morning. Each time I let two weeks elapse before calling back. Somewhat out of principle, as I was told I would be called back and somewhat due to the fact that contacting Northwest isn't the only "to do" item on my agenda. For someone that wants to "feel like" you have pest control, I believe this company will fill that need. If you want personal service for the issue in/around your home or business, I would read more reviews from other vendors. Anyone can apply product. Failing to return calls repeatedly and becoming defensive when it's discussed will lose customers....starting with me. read more

So I will say they half way tried to look like they cared. They came out took a look put down some fertilizer and that's it. After I talked to the supervisor (trying to get him to admit it was their mistake) all I got was and I quote "we're not in the habit of fuc*ing things up." Yep I'm for real that's what he said to me. Then he went on to say he read my Yelp review like he caught me or something. I said it then and I'll say it again TRUTH HURTS. Again there is no responsibility with this company but pay them they will do the minimum and hopefully they don't burn 1/2 your lawn and kill 1200 SF of second season seeded area and say " well seeds are never the way to go." Let me tell you a little story. I noticed a faint smell of ammonia (like urine) coming from my attic several months ago. I climbed up there to investigate and found a few bats hanging on the outside of my gable screen. Well... I figure they'll probably leave on their own. Right? Wrong. The smell kept getting stronger and stronger. I called a few different places to get quotes for removal and clean up. One company only looked at my house from the outside. Another company wanted to KILL THEM ALL!!! And all of them wanted to charge me THOUSANDS of dollars! I was so distraught. But then I called Northwest. A very nice man came out to my house on Friday. He checked out the outside. He climbed up in my attic. He actually crawled around up there, counting bats (between 60 and 70!). At this point, the bats were no longer just on the screen, but had clawed their way through the mesh and a few (2-3) were actually IN my attic. He told me what they would do, explained exactly how they would do it, and gave me the TOTALLY REASONABLE price quote. I signed up right then. Monday morning, two gentlemen showed up and got to work. They sealed up my attic, so no more bats could get in, and they put in a one-way valve so my bats could exit on their own but would be unable to get back in. They said that the bats usually leave within the first night, maybe two, and then I'd be bat free. Monday night was uneventful. Bats left. No problems. And Tuesday afternoon, they called to check and see how things were. Everything was smooth sailing, I told them. We scheduled a convenient time for them to come back and do the clean up. I was told that if I had ANY problems, concerns, anything - to call right away. But all was right with the world, and I was sure nothing was going to happen. And then sh!t got crazy. Tuesday night, as I was locking the house down, turning off lights, and heading upstairs to bed, I heard them. It seems as if the smart bats were able to find the one way valve and left, but the dumb bats... the dumb bats couldn't find it, and went the opposite direction - into the attic! And now, after being "trapped" in there for 48 hours, they were hungry, angry, and scared. This is not a good combination for ANY mammal. If you haven't wrecked your ears with loud music, you can hear bats. Yes, they use echo-location, but bats also vocalize with their mouths and it sounds like screaming. And that's exactly what the bats were doing in my attic Tuesday night. They were sporadically flying at full speed in my attic, flapping their wings against the cardboard boxes up there, scratching with their claws on the attic door to get out, urinating everywhere, and SCREAMING. The smell of urine overtook my house. The sound of screaming bats was terrifying. It was like some hellish, nightmare scene from a horror movie. I just knew that at any minute they were going to seep through the ceiling like a ghost and devour me alive. Needless to say, I didn't sleep very well that night. In the morning I called Northwest and described the events of the night before just as you read it above. It was like hitting the PANIC button. They jumped into over-drive: started moving around their schedules and making phone calls to get someone out to me as soon as possible - while still making it convenient for me. (They're so nice!) I wasn't available again until after 6pm on Thursday. Which was fine for both them and me. When I pulled into my driveway at 6pm last night, they had just pulled in as well and got right to work. The two men climbed into the attic and captured the remaining bats (15!!!), and pushed them out into the night. They removed the one-way valve and sealed it up. And they started cleaning: scooping, bagging, vacuuming, washing, spraying, and sanitizing. All told - they were here until 9pm! Now THAT is dedication. I could not thank them enough. The strong odor was already beginning to dissipate, and the sense of relief that washed over me was priceless. Not only were the bats gone from my house, but every one of them was a-ok and off to find a more appropriate home. I slept so soundly last night - with no fear of being eaten alive by a bat. (Note: I know that bats don't typically attack humans unless they or their young are being threatened and have no ability to escape.) This morning, Northwest called to check on me again - to make sure that everything went smoothly last night, that I was okay, and to make sure I was 100% satisfied. You guys - if you have any kind of Wildlife problem in your home, call Northwest. Not only are their prices fair and reasonable, but they do the job. And they do it the right way - prioritizing the safety of the critters and satisfaction of the customers. You will not be disappointed! read more

This company has great customer service. We had a technician that was less than impressive. However, when I called up Northwest Exterminating to voice my frustration, the manager immediately apologized, corrected the problem, and sent out a new technician less than two hours later. The new technician was awesome, and he will be the one to service our house from now on. I am very impressed by their responsiveness. I have also dealt with several other customer service representatives (to set up my account, schedule times, etc.). You speak to real people, not automated machines, and they are very helpful. UPDATE: Katie called and agreed to have someone come out and clean everything up next week. I appreciate the remedy of the situation! I paid $1,400 to exterminate my home and seal off my home to prevent future infestations. When Dustin came out to do the initial consultation, he told me that this price would include the removal of droppings, and that they would continue to come out until everything was taken care of. The only reason I was willing to pay this much money was the peace of mind of knowing that they would take care of everything. I would not have paid $1,400 for this service if I knew that this was not true. When they came out to seal the house, I was at work, and they could only get into the crawl space. They did clean up all droppings and seal everything up. I had them come out a month or so later because there was a rodent in one of the traps, and I wanted them to take care of the attack at this time. Dustin did not even go into the attack, he just stood on the ladder and set one trap on the attack floor. I am in the process of selling my house, and during the inspection, a few droppings were found in the attack. I called Northwest to come out and clean that up, and they told me that this is not included in my contract and that I would have to pay for this service. This is terrible customer service! I could have paid a lot less money with other companies, and gotten better service. read more

Northwest Exterminating. I haven't had experience with bait and trap termite protection, but this is my story with Northwest. My wife and I bought our house and subsequently a policy for termite protection (the Lifetime warranty). From the sound of this, you would think, you pay up front and you would be protected for the term of the contract. It was purchased at closing by the sellers. So, all of the details were mostly fuzzy. Well, ok, my hefty 350+ price from closing was a fine price to pay for peace of mind. However, all they did was put spikes with bait in them around the perimeter of the home. Quarterly, they came out and "checked" the traps. I can only speak to the once or twice I was home to witness said "checking", but each time, the guy just walks around the house, didn't even pick up or inspect a trap. Wrote on a piece of paper and attached it to my front door. On the paper, was the "documentation" that each trap was checked. Now, I am no expert on exterminating or termite control, but I can tell you these same traps I can get at Home Depot, or another pesticide based store for far less than I paid for my lifetime warranty. On top of the inital payment, it is $70 per quarter, that is $280 a year on top of the initial payment. For having to put the spikes in once, and then "inspect" them, and supposedly "replace" them here and there, I can see how this company is profitable. So, today I canceled my policy, and they said they will remove my spikes......you would think my 4 years of having the policy would allow me to keep my "traps". that is over $1000 for some plastic in my yard. Fine, if it saves me money in the future I would gladly give up those spikes. Now, I will just make a trip to Home Depot or the pesticide place on Cobb to buy my traps and set them up on the perimeter. Overall: Think twice before starting a Termite policy with Northwest. You can save a lot of time and money doing it yourself, or probably finding another company that won't charge you an arm and a leg and actually check the "traps" they install. read more

Be sure to ask technicians speak directly with you if you're a landlord and not with tenants. Otherwise, you will suddenly have so many more "problems" that didn't exist previously. Thanks for telling my tenants about new problems that were not observed at initial visit. Still no documentation of these newly discovered problems. Buyer beware!!!! This is not a reputable company. I purchased a home and they provided a certificate that no termites exsisted. Then put done abatement items. Gave the previous owner a certificate in Aug and did not service the property as contracted. Then contacted me 3 months later to continue service as if they were not providing. In Feb 2019 a employee cane to my door to remove the supposed termite abatement items per their Georgia office without contacting me. Just showed up. They gave a certificate and it had expired when I purchased the home. When contact by the closing Attorneys office the claimed the policy was paid up. Then waited and contacted me to "Continue Service" of six months ago. Don't keep this company or have another more reputable pest service reinspect. read more

We hired them to do a termite inspection prior to selling our house. However, the day of the appointment, the inspector never showed up. I called their office to see what was the issue, and they told me they had no record of my request. This, despite the fact that they previously emailed me a copy of the termite inspection request, with all of my confirmed contact information. My listing agent also attempted to contact the inspector, and he never responded. Finally, we were able to hire another inspection company, but the delay forced us to move our closing date back several days and interfered with our new home purchase. read more

Several times, including last week, I receive a text message "This is to inform you that we will not be able to complete your service. The office will notify you the next day we will be in the area." They'll be back at their convenience, it sounds like. They're OK when they show up, but receiving a text like that is poor customer service, especially at the prices they charge. read more

I would not recommend this company, they try to upsell me as mentioned in several reviews. I had been a customer for several years with the bundle service and called because is saw evidence of rodent in attic. They referred me to their "wildlife team" that was not a part of the paid services (which was fine). when the wildlife team came out he wanted me to pay $4100.00 for an exclusion. I asked if they can treat without me paying for the exclusion and he said no. this was too expensive, so I called Orkin and they agreed to come out the next day for $216 and 55 payments for 12 months (much more reasonable). They (Orkin) only charged me based upon me living in a sigle family home and not based upon the size of my house. I promptly called to cancel my service and they were rude...did not ask why I wanted to leave and were not professional. I would not recommend or use them, and I will not recommend my friends to use them. read more

This is the company that our apartment complex uses so I can't comment on price or anything since we don't pay extra for it, but the service is great! We've only been home a few times when they've come by, but the gentleman who was here was very friendly. He asked what our problem was and told us where he would spray and why. Another time we came home and they had already sprayed and on the card noting that they came by someone wrote a personal note giving us suggestions about how to prevent fruit flies. Another time they even brought in a UPS package that was delivered at our doorstep when we were out. Thumbs up! read more

Roger McKenzie is one of the rudest, arrogant condescending people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The dynamics of this company are changing they arent the same family oriented, great customer service, friendly company they once were. Roger called me everything short of a liar. They haven't shown up to service us in over a month. They will get you with unnecessary charges and tell you that you need services you don't, and find ways to extend services by not totally eradicating the issue so you continuously pay for them. When we purchased our home the yard was basically dirt and weeds. It was obvious the previous owners never put effort into it. We started with an evaluation and quote from Northwest lawn care services and quickly agreed to a treatment plan that was affordable. In one year we saw a huge difference and now after two years I feel like our yard is one of the better looking yards in the neighborhood. The grass is thick and green and the weeds are minimal, their team works hard to make sure we were happy with the results and kept a great line of communication with us as we were out of town for half the year. I would recommend using this company for yard services and pest control, insects, ants, all of that. They took care of it all! Not to mention Ashley our point of contact was amazing to work with, very sweet, wonderful memory and always did what she said she was going to. Home was treated July 17. After a week, I was still seeing 8-12 roaches a day. I called customer service, and she explained it might "take a little more time." The tech came back a couple of days later. I asked him to "spray the stuff that KILLS THE ROACHES." He sprayed again -- outside only. Three weeks after the initial treatment, I am still seeing 8-12 roaches a day. I called customer service today. I was told "they must be German Roaches." What I expect from a pest service: The killing of the pests. This company offers excuses. Maybe their "green" and "environmental" poisons need to be upgraded. I only know they can't kill roaches. read more
