{EDITED BELOW} After a wind storm on Mother's Day, half of the seamless gutter on the rear of the…read moresecond story fell to the deck below and twisted requiring replacement. At first, I was impressed with Roof Smart because they were prompt in providing an estimate and willing to a job that another company refused to do unless we wanted to replace all of our gutters. The first frustration was an attempt to repair a seamless gutter with a two-piece gutter, but for the same price. They did, however agree to install a seamless gutter, so I was still happy to work with the company. After over a week of no information I reached out to find out when the job would get started and was told, "by the end of the week." When Friday evening came and the work wasn't started and I wasn't informed by the company, I reached out to find out if the plan was to work on a Saturday or if it would be pushed back to the next week. I was informed that the repair would be done on Saturday, which was inconvenient as we had plans on Saturday, but wanted the gutter hanging from the house to be fixed. Saturday was another no call, no show and while I tried to wait patiently, I had to reach out the following Wednesday reminding them that not only was the gutter unsightly, but it seemed dangerous. I was told the gutter would arrive from the manufacturer by Thursday and that the repair would be done that Friday. When I reached out Friday morning to find out what time the work would be done (losing confidence in their ability to communicate), I was informed that Roof Smart received the wrong part and that the new part would arrive the following Tuesday for installation, but that the repair would begin on Saturday to remove the dangerous gutter. I asked about a time for Saturday and was told 3:00, again inconvenient on a Saturday. I rushed to get home on Saturday at 3:00 so I could be there for the repair and once again, no call no show. After 40 minutes of waiting I reached out to Roof Smart and was simply told they were reaching out to the installer. After waiting an hour and a half with no response, I communicated that I was done waiting as it was 4:30 and we had other things to do. I anticipated a call or worker to show up by Tuesday as that was what I was told. Tuesday came and once again there was a no call no show so I sent a message asking if they were planning to do the job. Roof Smart called me and apologized stating that they had to fire the installer and would need to hire another and that I could wait another week or two for that. While I appreciate the difficulty of hiring a subcontractor who doesn't show up, the customer should not have to initiate all of the communication. This company strung us along for a month and left us with a dangerous gutter hanging from the house and we are now at the back of the line for other estimates that we received, which could be another 3-4 weeks. {EDIT} *Roof Smart's apology came with a $50 gift card. Classy move and worth upgrading from 1-star to 3-stars.

We called Mater Roofers and they were there the next day to inspect them and give us a quote. Our house has had a few additions so it has really weird gutters and a lot of downspouts. It is also surrounded my pine trees so getting gutter guards was an absolute must as well. They gave us a quote and it was very reasonable for the amount we would need replaced and the labor to do it. It did take them three weeks to get all the material and schedule the install. They showed up with 5 guys and had all the gutter taken off and replaced with full gutter guards in 5 hours. It was very impressive. They had someone come out a few days later to do the final inspection. We also waited until it rained to let them know if everything was working properly. Since we've had them replaced, we have not had any water in our basement. The only thing we didn't love is they were not very careful during the install. They completely trampled our flower beds. I would understand if a few were to get stepped on, but yearly every flower was smashed and killed. They also left a nail from the old gutters on our driveway. I'm sure this was just something they overlooked, but if we didn't see that it could have caused some real damage.

Homeowners, beware. We ( along with our insurance company ) paid Ohio Roof Masters -- nearly…read more$300,000 -- for a roofing job that remains incomplete, leaking, and riddled with issues. Despite receiving full insurance funds for a complete roof replacement with premium materials, the company left major sections untouched and instead used cheap materials worth a fraction of what was paid for. The owner, Marc Ross, was informed of these problems repeatedly -- including serious misconduct from his crew -- and not only failed to correct them but continued to make the situation worse. Workers were caught on video drinking on the job, stealing copper, and even trying to blame an innocent young woman for the theft until video evidence cleared her. They destroyed a custom, expensive birdbath, tore up our yard, and showed an astonishing lack of professionalism. Marc Ross was fully aware of these issues and lied to us multiple times, failed to supervise his crew, and was paid for work in areas that were never even touched. In my opinion, this is not just poor workmanship -- it's deceptive business practice. We are now starting legal action and reported the company to regulatory agencies ( including the attorney general , insurance company , police department ,licensing board , BBB , and a few others ). I strongly urge others to steer clear of Ohio Roof Masters and Marc Ross. This has been an exhausting and costly experience -- don't make the same mistake we did!
