I had 6 valve extenders placed on my motorhome before heading out west. They were all brand new and…read moreon tires less than a year old and very limited miles on them (a thousand at most). I made it all the way to Colorado when I encountered several problems. First, I noticed a low tire. When I checked it, it was actually flat. I was at a Walmart so the tire department put air in and let me know the valve was leaking but they could not replace it as my motorhome was not conducive to their setup. They at least placed air in my tire for my travel to a tire shop that could help. So, I had to drive my motor home to a tire shop in the worst traffic I have seen in my life. Truly, it was. I know we all have different beliefs about what constitutes bad traffic, but I had to stop suddenly multiple times because kids and adults and cars would jump in front of me not noticing I was in a big heavy motorhome. Also, note that I was only traveling about 8 miles to a tire shop. Anyway, get to the tire shop hoping I had a puncture and not a bad stem since they were brand new. But after waiting an hour they discovered that indeed it was the valve stem leaking. They replaced it immediately but on my way there my brakes were not working well. Consulted with mechanics in my life and they assumed it was the master cylinder. Had to change my plans. Had to incur the cost of hotel and lose the money I paid for my campground spot for that night. Also had to get someone to look at my brakes since it was too much of a safety concern. That had a high cost to it. The next day I discovered that my brakes were glazing on all the traffic, so my brakes were good to go but be careful. Great on my way to next destination that I paid for upfront (campground). On my way to my next destination, my friend traveling behind me noticed that one of my inside tires was low. Inside tire being the most dangerous to have. I had 4 miles to travel to tire place. Made it safely. Waited at least 2 plus hours. Once again, they said all that was wrong was a faulty valve stem. They replaced it and off I went but now once again I could not make it to my next destination because I was behind schedule for an event that I had the following day. So, another expense lost and a new campground fee added. Also, my original intent was to stay at my friend's house with my motorhome as the event was close to her house. But I had to incur another expense of staying at a campground near my event. I made it home without any further valve or tire problems, but the trauma of my past experiences had me stopping every hour to 1.5 hours to check my tires. At the time I did not have tire pressure monitors, but I do now. I get back home and take my motor home back to Southside Tires. Requested all valves to be replaced and every tire inspected and to talk to the owner. I was told the owner does not like to talk to customers so the manger would see what he could do. Owner refused to talk to me and all that happened was I got my valves replaced at no cost. The expenses I incurred because of faulty valve stems was exactly $1,278. I would never endorse this shop for any service if they cannot stand by their work and the owner could not care any less. Also, just to note a conversation I had with another customer as I was there to pick up my motorhome after the replaced valves. A customer asked me if I had been there before. My response was first time and all I got was valve stems. Never said anything else as I was unsure where the conversation as headed. He said it was his too and he was there for a correction to previous work, but he also stated that he felt the place was "sketchy" in terms of quality of work a said he would never return. Needless to say, I will never return and would never ever recommend this place.
