Our salesperson and new friend was super enthusiastic about helping us find what we needed. We came to the store having zero knowledge of Japanese knives, but were guided through picking the perfect knife. We left feeling well taken care of and lowkey experts in knife care. We came from out of town (this place was recommended to us by a local celebrity chef) and will definitely be back. Thank you so much for everything!

I was looking for a place to have my knives sharpened do o went online to Yelp of course. Northside Cutlery had great reviews and I thought let's give this business a shot. Low and behold the reviews for Northside Cutlery are spot on! I was no disappointment! I highly recommend this place, it's a great location (although a wee bit of a drive from my place), and Kevin the owner is great! The prices are extremely responsible and street parking was easy. I just brought in my knives and Kevin said they'll be ready in about 1-1.5 hrs so I went to lunch down the street. They accept cash and Visa/Mastercard making payment was easy. My kitchen knives as 2 pocket/utility knives are sharp! Love it!!!

Just had my knives repaired and sharpened. I left my knives and in less than an hour, Danielle called me to say they are ready for pick up! She and Kevin are such wonderful people. Definitely recommend this place to get your knives fixed for both home cooks and restaurant owners alike!

Needed a knife sharpened after my roommate dropped mine and chipped off a piece. After a ton of research Northside Cutlery seemed to be the best spot for me. I'm all about local businesses run by professionals that have a passion for what they do. That's exactly what you get when you come here. The owner (Kevin) and his wife (Daniella) are so nice and helpful and they'll tell you that everything they sell they would/do use themselves. Bought a beautiful Japanese knife that was very well priced. While I shopped, my knife was sharpened to such a degree I'm honestly nervous when I use it. 10/10 will always come here when I need my knives honed to perfection.

My 3 main knives all sharpened and ready for work! Thanks Kevin!

I can't say enough good things about this guy and this young company! I reached out to him as he's in the neighborhood and within the day he came and picked up 3 knives that needed sharpening. Better than that, he offered to drop them back off same-day! (I'm sure your mileage will vary but super fast turnaround by any means). Pricing was great considering he offered to pick them up and drop them off. He took the time to explain how he would correct some wear on my Leatherman blade and what it might entail. Providing knowledge as well as a service is above and beyond these days. Thank you, Kevin! I will absolutely come to you again!

Super sharp! A variety of blades Kevin restored.

Chef Jerry and Thomas were just too adorable and so very helpful in getting up set up as well as explaining the use of the various frostings in the tubes, showing us the proper way to not only get the frosting out of the tubes but how to apply it to the cookie, They were so helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. As we got to the end of the activity, we didn't even have to get up to get the provided boxes to put our cookies in....they brought them over. I did not eat my decorated cookies because I am not a fan of frosting on cookies, but the three plain ones I saved were delish the next day when I had them with my morning coffee. What I liked about the activity was that Chef Jerry and Thomas were there to make sure all of the tables had what they needed and to answer questions, but they were not micromanaging us. They allowed us to do our thing and have fun. Honestly when I heard what the activity was going to be, I wasn't feeling it. But Tom and Jerry (just had to say that one...HAHAHAHA) made it a very fun experience.

Ryan was able to manage all of us and get us all involved in the preparation of our meal. We started off with about a half hour of mingling, getting setup with drinks (BYOB) and the provided fresh baked bread with assorted cheeses, then all gathered around the large U-shaped island that would be our workspace. As others have mentioned, this isn't a you-cook-everything for your meal type of experience, rather, every step is demonstrated by the instructor then a few people in the class will take turns performing it while others move on to other steps. My class was the Bavette menu, which was (I'm not even going to attempt to write out the french titles for these) a bacon and mushroom puff pastry, sous-vide flank steak with duck fat roasted potatoes and Bearnaise sauce, and a chocolate lava cake for dessert. The food was fantastic. An absolutely amazing meal. But really the best part about this whole experience was the people and the group interaction. Throughout the night, we all got to know each other and had a bunch of fun working together. There was tons of laughter and it was an all around great time. It culminated in us sitting at a long table and having dinner together. It was also someone's birthday, so we all sang happy birthday. Overall, 10/10 experience! I will DEFINITELY be back. This was one of the best girl's nights we've had in a while, but it would also be great for a date or just a couple of friends. Hell, it would even be a great first date! Oh, and our instructor, Ryan, was incredible. He was hilarious and a great teacher.

The band set up rehearsals just to practice our exact set list. We decided on Piano & Violin for the ceremony, with additional Piano for cocktail hour. They even had a sound tech on their staff. Upbeat customized our wedding to our exact requests. They ensured to perfect our precessional, recessional, and prelude music. We requested contemporary love songs in which they rocked!! Our cocktail hour was perfect and the guests were complementing how talented the musicians were. Michael was our emcee for the nights events and ensured to follow my timeline to a T. He checked in multiple times with our wedding planner, as well as me and my husband. The 3-hour reception was full of energy, talent, and craftsmanship. Upbeat performed multiple medleys allowing songs to flow seamlessly into each other. The vocalists were top tier and were able to sing a wide variety of genres. The instrumentalists all played a critical role in the feel of the party! I 100% recommend adding the horn to your band! Please stay away from this unprofessional and overpriced company that charged $3.45+ per business…read morecard, which doesn't count the surprise $75 fee they dropped on me the same day I was supposed to pick up the proofs. Pictures are just a small sample of the flaws. I needed business cards quickly and my current vendor was unable to print my design in Pantone colors, just CMYK. I reached out to Chris from Dupli-Group and explained my situation and he said he would be able to meet my deadline no problem. I was quoted in email at $345 for 100 cards, which is ~3x more expensive than elsewhere, but I needed them quickly so I didn't see much choice. I was also quoted $10 to get 3 different proofs, which I agreed to. My designer provided proofs with Pantone color #s so that it would be an easy print. Chris agreed to meet in person ~10 mins from his house to show us the samples, but hours before meeting, he called telling us that it would cost an additional $75 for those 3 card samples. When I asked where this fee came from, he said he just found out himself. We met him and pointed out that the samples had fraying around the edges of the cards that looked like they weren't cut cleanly. Chris assured us that it was because it was a sample and that the production run would be on other paper and would not have this issue. We gave him the credit card details for the $85 ($10 proof fee + the $75 mystery fee), and we agreed to the run of 100 cards. Dupli-Group produced the cards the next day and Chris met us on his way home from the office. We gave him a check for $345 and received 100 cards, but we immediately saw several issues that we pointed out in person. The fraying was still there, looking like the cards were sitting in someone's pocket for weeks. Chris said this is because the paper is white before it is printed. Some cards had extra unprinted slop on the edges, and the remainder were not centered properly. Chris said my designer gave it to them that way, so I politely showed him the email my designer sent him with the perfectly centered proof. Chris then said the $85 charge didn't go through. Upon checking, we had given the wrong zip and provided the corrected one. At home, I took photos with digital calipers showing that many cards were cut at an angle, and the rest weren't centered among other issues. Chris said he would get these issues fixed and bring me more so that I would have 100 good cards. He also said the credit card still didn't go through, and although I wasn't sure why, I offered to bring a different credit card when he brings the replacement business cards. We met 2 days later, but the batch he provided was cut even worse with chunks missing from the edges. I asked him to take them back just to show his boss. He took most and admitted that they probably have a problem with the cutting equipment, but then still asked for the remaining $85 payment. I told him to please speak with the owner first, and we can talk or meet again on Monday to resolve the quality issues and remaining payment. Chris later replied that they will waive the $85 fee, but that morning's batch (which he took most of) was the only make-good they were providing and "this matter is over and done." The owner, Wally, finally chimed in, saying I was "fortunate to be working with Chris on this project" and implied I was cheap and they "felt certain I would do the right thing" and pay the $85 fee, which they graciously waived after still failing to provide 100 acceptable cards. There is much more that wouldn't fit in the review, and I only included a couple pictures with personal info redacted, but I am still shocked that a company would rather insult a customer than address literally any of the myriad quality concerns. But hey, at least I paid $345 for a useless stack of card stock.
