On the East Coast, we used to love to grab bagels when we were in Midtown. The classic crust with a soft, chewy center and a giant list of smears to choose from, delicious. We were excited to hear this place actually boils then bakes. This is the closest bagel we have found. They have the classic crisp crust with the beautiful chewy center. Their prices are a little steeper than NY, and the scallion cream cheese could use more scallions, in my opinion, but these were great, and I will be back! In my video, you can hear the beautiful crust. I got the Jalapeno Cheese, and my husband got the Onion. Both were fresh and filled with toppings. For the Jalapeño, there were little jalapeño pieces throughout the dough, and the cheese gave nice sharpness. As you can see from my photos, my husband's Onion bagel came generously topped. He thought it was perfectly balanced, offered the same crisp crust and chewy center, and paired well with the scallion smear. We will be back next weekend! Been doing it for 47 years according to a plaque on the inside of the business. I'll tell you what, and 4700 this guy has the donut game down. First of all, this is one of the largest donut shops I've ever seen that had two separate rooms for sitting, now I don't know if they just got a restaurant that had gone out of business and turned into a donut shop or if they have that kind of volume coming in through the day. Either way it's plenty of room to sit and hang out and chat and have a couple good donuts. The counter people were nice and friendly, and explain to me the name of the shop, thankfully it was not truth and advertising. These donuts are hard and gross. These are like amazing donuts and I would have eaten a dozen of them if I did not have the self-risk paint that I possess. I had a chocolate moose filled chocolate boys donut with a chocolate milk. I'm guessing you can see that I like chocolate. This place definitely did not disappoint in that area and had some amazing, amazing ones. Thanks!
