If you live in the CDA area, you've driven past Alani on Appleway and Fourth at least 100 times and…read morehave never seen it. It's in the rear parking lot behind Hometown Chiropractic, next to Surf Shack Burgers. Alani Bakery is fantastic! Husband and wife owned, specialty in custom cakes (which I have not tried) and pastries (which I have). Their pastries are amazing, fresh, and perhaps the best I've had in all of Kootenai County. Sitting area is small, with a total of three two-seater tables and a sofa. Certainly not a place for a gathering. But if you want a quiet, comfortable hidden getaway to enjoy some quiet time without a loud blender, grinder, or coffee shop noises every 45 seconds, this is the place! Limited breakfast menu, but the croissant sandwiches and crepe options are wonderful. Croissant is warm, buttery, flakey, fresh and filled with goodness. Owners are super friendly and knowledgeable and offer great service. Excellent espresso (no drip coffee, so order an Americano or latte). You must try this place! P.S. there is one negative 1-star review on this site. Anytime I see someone post a 1-star review on any place, I check out their profile and almost always every one of their reviews are 1-star. Don't be deceived by either a chronic discontent or fake review. You will enjoy this place!

11.3.25: First time in at this location after our morning Costco trip. I've been wanting to visit…read moreand was finally craving something super sweet as Crumbl is known for its sugary treats. When we walked in, we were not greeted nor acknowledged or spoken to the entire time we were there until our name was called out when our order was ready. Customer service was non-existent. Ambiance-wise, there were a few people standing around waiting for their orders but it didn't seem too busy. There is a drive-thru as well. I quickly scanned around for an "order here" sign and noticed they had a couple of ordering kiosks in the corner. Placing our order was easy and self explanatory and so was the payment process. I wanted to try the Mile High Lemon Pie in a large but they only had it as a mini. So I ordered a trio of minis: lemon, chocolate tart cookie, and chocolate fudge brownie. Then we also got a quad of large cookies: Halloween confetti milkshake cookie, semi-sweet chocolate chunk, and Martha Stewart chocolate chip cookie thins x2. The mini lemon pie was delish--fluffy, light, and creamy. Crust was crust and had a good cook. I enjoyed it vs some places that try and get fancy by adding all kinds of things to the crust, for example I see coconut a lot in crusts nowadays. I'm not a fan. I so wished it was in a large and believed they were in the process of making them for the day ahead. The chocolate tart was pretty good--smooth, silky, and chocolatey with a soft chocolate cookie crust. The chocolate fudge brownie was better than I expected. It was nice and chewy with a chocolate frosting. Now if you want something high up there on the sweet scale then the Halloween confetti milkshake cookie is your pick. It's basically like a birthday cake cookie with a whole lotta sprinkles (see pic) and vanilla frosting topping. If you pair it with some cold milk, it's yum and cuts some of the sweetness. Lastly, the Martha Stewart chocolate chip cookie thins are the kind of cookies you can keep eating one after another. Thin, crispy, yet slightly chewy and the sea salt (or maybe coarse salt?) sprinkles tied it all together perfectly. I can't speak on the semi-sweet chocolate chunk because it was my friend's and he ate it lol. I enjoy Crumbl when I want something really sweet and they never fail at that. I like their variety of cookies and how they rotate flavors. There's always something new to try when I visit. Crumbl Cookies is 4 stars, but today's customer service was a 2. Looking forward to seeing what different cookies they'll offer in the upcoming weeks.
