However, this is where some of the issues start. The seating is ALL super UNCOMFORTABLE. I don't know why coffee shops sacrifice comfort for aesthetic, but it ISNT WORTH IT. Over the past couple of years, though, we have noticed the level of service decline as the hours have expanded. While I appreciate the additional hours, I am not sure the staff feel the same way. I understand there will always be turnover and new employees, but it feels like some of what made this place special has been lost. Today we called ahead to place an order for a couple dozen donuts. We were on hold for about five minutes, and when placing the order, I had to repeat myself several times after almost every donut. We let them know we would be there in about two hours. When we arrived, the donuts had not been boxed yet. I mentioned that we had placed the order a couple of hours earlier and received a quick, somewhat snappy "OK" in response. It just didn't feel great. When we got home, we realized several of the donuts were not what we ordered. Nothing was mentioned when we picked them up about being out of anything. I assume some of the donuts we ordered may have sold out during those two hours, which is also why I wish the order had been boxed when we called. Had someone simply apologized and said, "We're sorry, we ran out of a few of the donuts you ordered," I would have been completely fine with it. I understand that people get busy and things happen. But you are never too busy to provide good service. We still love the donuts and want this place to be great. I just hope they can get back to the level of service that made us such loyal customers for so many years.
