He made sure my pup had the right meds so that he would not suffer. I am eternally grateful for Dr. Desa, Pets4Life and the staff. Amanda could not have been kinder or more thorough. The front desk people are also terrific. I chose this hospital because it is local. Once my dog was a patient, I knew I made the right choice. They answer the phone, they make time to see patients, they are thorough and the place is so clean. The practice has all the updates in technology. I am forever grateful. Thank you. Marci Kulbak

We are having fun trying out different foods to see what they prefer. No Mess blend is a big hit with most of the birds and I'm attracting woodpeckers as you can see. Pretty good trick in a 20 year old subdivision. Also their pole system cannot be beat. Especially if you add a raccoon baffle to keep the trash pandas from tearing up the tray.

Have you ever lived in a town where you walked past a shop a million times over and finally decided…read moreto go in? I've been meaning to come into this place forever! I always wondered what was behind the door of this cute house, but I just never thought about venturing in. Now that I own a house of my own, this would be my for sure go-to place for a bird feeder. Though they were getting ready to close, I appreciated the owner letting me and my boys take a look around without pressure. Would I shop here again? Yes, but if I was specifically looking for a bird feeder, bird bath or bird seed. I know some people mention it's pricey in here, but I have to say those one-of-a-kind bird houses in the front of the store are really something. Beautifully handcrafted and remind me of dollhouses from the past...just for birds. Cute, a place to go for your bird houses, and definitely independent.

LOL if your puppy is USDA inspected - it is a puppy mill puppy. No real breeder would ever (I…read morerepeat ever) sell a dog to a pet store. Real breeders (whatever their breed) care about what happens to their puppies. Learn the facts puppy buyers. There are so many great rescues, many have puppy mill puppies (so maybe they are a few months older than the eight or whatever week old pups you find in a pet store) and they are just as cute and way, way cheaper then the over-priced puppes in pet stores. Puppy mills will not stop breeding masses of puppies until consumers stop buying puppies from pet stores, online, etc. Want to stop the abuse of the mill dogs...don't buy their offspring!

Do not purchase a dog from here! I purchased a sick dog from here that vomited ten minutes after…read moreleaving the store. The dog seemed sluggish, but they assured me their was nothing wrong with the dog. The dog never ate(they were giving it prescribed food with no mention on the medical record of a vet prescribing) was sick the entire time we had it. When we took it to the vet - they were shocked that anyone would let this sick dog go home from a pet shop. When we called and were polite with them - they basically said we could not do anything about it. We have already got our money returned to us by talking to our credit card company(at no point did they offer a refund). We are currently in discussions with counsel to get our money back for Vet bills and probably a lot more. If you like this place and want to purchase a puppy from here, I would hurry, because when we are done - I would assume this place will be bankrupt.

We had a pretty bad experience with the grooming salon and we've really noticed a difference in the…read moreservice since some recent staff turnover. We dropped our pooch off for a bath and brush and nail clip, which usually takes 2.5 - 3 hours (but they often finish in about 1.5 - 2 hours), and never got any phone call about him being ready for pickup. After about 3.5 hours, we decided to go back to the store and find out what's going on. It turns out that while all that time passed, the salon employee (AC) completed the bath and brush, but not the nails. In fact, the staff in the salon couldn't get ahold of AC to find out what was going on/where he was. This really concerned me...was our dog OK? Did something happen while we were gone? The nail clip and grind ended up being completed by a female employee who was very nice. We talked to the assistant store manager, Steve, and he was really nice to deal with and was extremely apologetic about the whole ordeal. He was totally confused about everything, even to the point of being worried about his employee. He even gave us a discount on our services and basically let doggo go to town on the bowl of treats at the register. ;) I know we'll be back here because it's close to home, we've never had problems like this, and the staff here really seem to like our dog. But I will not be booking future grooming sessions with AC.

The staff here are great, but their selection is really limited by the tiny store. I could…read moreliterally fit their entire selection of canned cat food in my pantry. They have more dog food, accessories, treats, and boutique merchandise - however the Bentley's in Bannockburn still has at least twice the selection and stock of the Deerfield Square location. Parking is easier in Bannockburn, than at Deerfield Square, as well. You can bring your dogs in, if they are on leash, but there isn't a lot of room - if they are easily excitable, they might knock stuff over. This Bentley's location really is held back by the size of the store. The Pet People across the street has a bigger store, featuring many of the same - plus many more - boutique and common pet products. Ditto with the Bannockburn Bentley's location. The Pet Supplies Plus just a few minutes south on Waukegan is also pretty good. While you can have this Bentley's special order anything you need, I can do the same thing from Chewy's online delivered to my home. I want to like this Bentley's location, but it's overshadowed by the other larger-sized options - including the other Bentley's - in the area.
