I really don't like leaving negative reviews. It takes a lot for me. I feel like I need to share that Dr. Park is kind but I'm not sure what the business practices are at this establishment. I've been bringing my two young children here for about two years. We don't have dental insurance and every visit, costs increase. I had an appointment for both kids for x-rays, fluoride and exam and I asked for an estimate. I could not believe my eyes. They were charging $437 per child!! $437??? That's $874! I am so disappointed by how a business can upcharge like this. I called around and found pediatric dental offices in the area that are charging a fraction of that exorbitant cost for the exact services before any new patient discounts! This really is unacceptable. read more

I chose this dental office because the reviews on Yelp, but you never know how those positive reviews came about. On my daughter first visit, also the first time using Delta Dental PPO the best coverage I could buy on covered CA. I was asked to pay a co-pay of $35 on a new patient but routine cleaning. That was a surprise because I have never had to pay a co-pay for routine cleaning, even as a new patient. My daughter have been in pristine conditions so I don't expect there would be additional services needed. And I was right. The hygienist actually praised how good she kept her teeth. At the end of the cleaning, I got called in and they recommended me to have a sealing on my daughter's molars. I had been asked before and got myself educated on that issue. I patiently listened and explained why I would deny it for a little longer time than I'd like. I sensed that money is the priority for this practice so I switched for the next routine checkup. As I expected, the new dentist didn't know charge a co-pay for a new patient. A few months later, I got a bill Northpark Dental for another $50 dollars for that same and only visit saying some of the charges were denied by Delta. I went online to check Delta Dental's records. I could see charges from both dentists. They were billing Delta Dental 50% more than the our new dentist. I called them up and told them the difference and asked for explanation why they charged more and billed (to Delta) more. In the end, they cancelled the $50 bill. In retrospect, we went to Northpark dental giving insurance info before hand. On the day of visit, I was asked to pay a co-pay for a new patient but routine checkup. Then another $50 bill came afterwards. I don't see why there were services they could not see at the time of checking in. It definitely make people feel it's covert way of making more money for themselves. read more

We brought our son here for his first dentist check-up at 1.5 year old and my son did great with the help of the super friendly dental assistant and dentist! This practice does get busy and scheduling can be hard because the pediatric dentists are there only on certain days and times. However, it's worth the wait! We will be back! read more

My left side teeth suddenly got so much pain, and first I just sucked it up and wished it will go away soon but it got worse. So I called Northpark Dental and the front desk lady very nicely set up an appointment for me like 2 hour later. When I arrived there, Dr. Kim checked my teeth carefully and ruled out the cracked teeth caused it. He prescribed some meds for me. After I took the med second day, it got better already and at least I had a good sleep at night. So really appreciated that they set up my appointment ASAP and took care of my painful teeth. Definitely felt like I was upsold unnecessary treatments, like rinses and x-rays every 6 months instead of annually. And it wasn't a cheap rinse either. Nice in theory, but my kids used it once, and could not stand the taste. It is nice that they are open on Saturdays, but after paying $150 for xrays out of pocket, I won't be back. Upon suggestions from my friends and coworkers, I finally got the courage to go back to the dentist after all these years. The practice is very clean and welcoming. The staff is great and friendly. Dr. Janice Park-Kim is great, her staff is great. The office is awesome. Our daughter' been coming here since she got her first full set of teeth, so maybe a year and a half. They make the kids very comfortable. They have a wide open room with 3 chairs in the front. We haven't gone on the other rooms, but the room with the three chairs is bright and colorful. They have a big TV with cartoons playing. When the kids are done, they get to pick a toy from a big closet full of toys. The very receptive and pleasant receptionist would provide a ballon in the end. It's a great dentist office. My first dental appointment was never this nice. Awesome! read more

My son had cavities and I was very disappointed in myself and felt like I failed my child from a good oral hygiene. I searched around for dentists in different areas, Hb, Newport and Irvine. Every dentist I came across was very judgmental and criticizing. Dr. Park, when I first met Dr. Park she was so welcoming and thorough with my sons treatment. She didn't belittle me or threw me under the bus for causing cavities to my child. She was informative and showed professionalism in every single aspect of a dentist. Debbie, the front desk manager welcomes you with a soft spoken tone and caring voice. I am so trilled to have found them through Kaiser! TristAn had to be sedated for the treatment. Dr park introduced Tristan and I to Dr. Shar, the anesthesiologist. Dr Shar definitely amazed me with his work. He got down on the floor to speak with my child. He told Tristan's how the procedure would go ( even if my child was unclear ) the gesture was appreciated so that he would not be pushed into something that he wasn't familiar with. He used a mock inhaler and a windmill ! Which was a terrific idea to help the child know what to expect. The procedure went well and in a timely manner. Everyone took their time doing what they are best at. All the assistants Miguel and Lillian were so helpful. I want to Thank everyone for giving Tristan and I such a wonderful experience. I brought my 20 month old son here to see a pediatric dentist for a cavity & stains on his front teeth (yea, a cavity!) and I couldn't be more pleased with how they were able to treat him. The staff was super friendly and the kids section was set up very cute/fun. Janice Park-Kim, DDS, polished my sons teeth and filled his cavity all in under 40 min.
