He was so kind, informing my son step by step, with numbing, describing how things might feel, like a little pressure for instance. My son felt understanding and ready. In as little as 5 mins, he managed to get a tooth out including a freaking giant root. It was so big it could have broken into two. I was impressed. Well done! We had our first appointment today and it went great. I felt comfortable to let him roam in the waiting room. they had eletronic toys for older kids and a bunch cute stuff for smaller kids/ toddlers. They played Moana for my 2 year old since that's his favorite movie while they checked his teeth. They gave him the chance to pick out a toothpaste flavor. they were so sweet. this is a very child/ mom friendly place! they didn't mind his crying when he got scared, they were prepared and patient during his cleaning. Dr Lani was super patient with my son. It was his first time trying the nitrous oxide and he had a hard time breathing through his nose with his mouth open. But Dr Lani was so patient and so encouraging. She tried almost every single method that's possible. Dr Franklin is a wonderful dentist. Kind, caring and compassionate. He took the time to explain procedures, benefits vs cost and even gave us some helpful tips on saving money for retainers which I really appreciated. He also understood teenager behavior and made some suggestions on doing something that my teen may not fully be willing to adhere to regarding buying new retainers vs wearing night guards and gave me some money saving tips. I really felt he was looking out for my pocketbook and at the same time giving us sound advice without trying to upsell me on something we may not really need which was very refreshing. It made me feel as though he wanted the best for our family while understanding the reality of buying new expensive retainers vs my son following through and wearing them. He suggested I try buying inexpensive night guards first vs going to back my orthodontist for new retainers. Great advice which I really appreciated. I have been taking my kids to this dental office for over 15 years. Our primary dentist is Dr. Clara Lee, who is always cheerful, gently, and really cares about her patients well-being. My children absolutely adore her! The entire staff is also very friendly and organized. I have never had an issue with appointments or waiting a long time to be seen.
