We have a dental HMO plan and unfortunately, there are almost no pediatric practices that accept it, so we were cash pay. However, this place is pretty reasonable cash prices. It was $135 for my older daughter, and babies under 18 months get their first visit complimentary. It was slightly cheaper than a couple other nearby places, and the reviews were very positive so I decided to try it. The waiting room is small but very neat and tidy. The aesthetic is cute, and they have a few toys for kids but it's not crazy or cluttered. It's actually better that way since kids are just drawn to one or two toys instead of overwhelmed by the options. We were called back shortly after we checked in, and it wasn't very crowded that day when we went. My older daughter laid on the exam chair and they have TVs on the ceiling so she got to watch a show, which she was pleased with. The hygienist and the dentist were both great. They were informative without being patronizing, and they respected my parenting choices and offered advice that fell within the scope of my choices. For example, continuing to breastfeed my young toddler (14 months old) at nighttime does increase the risk of cavities, but they informed me that they understand the benefits of breastfeeding and that the risk increases primarily after 18 months, which was helpful to know. Another example is we discussed fluoride vs. non-fluoride toothpaste. We had been using non-fluoride especially when we have to brush teeth on the go (like trying to be on time to school), so they said if we don't do fluoride every time, then doing it at the nighttime brushing is the most helpful time of day to kill the most bacteria. I appreciated that their advice was realistic and balanced enough to recognize that parents weigh many factors when making parenting decisions, and not all decisions are 100% about good dental hygiene. For my toddlers appointment they mainly wanted to inspect her teeth, do a quick brush and apply fluoride, but it was very short. They had me hold her on my lap face up and just worked on her there. Of course my toddler screamed the entire time, but they worked fast and were sympathetic but not shocked by the behavior. Seems like they have a lot of experience! They gave both my kids stickers and each a new toothbrush at the end. It was a very positive visit and we will definitely be back!

When I attempted to resolve the issue, I encountered multiple problems: I was unable to reach anyone for months The laboratory changed their address and phone number after the initial invoice No chain of custody for the specimen could be provided No consent or authorization was on file No documentation linking the test to my child was produced Despite the lack of proof, I was threatened with collections. Ultimately, I paid the bill solely to avoid potential credit damage--not because the charge was valid. What was most disappointing was the lack of support or advocacy from PM Pediatrics in resolving this issue, even though the situation stemmed from care received at their facility. After over a year of effort, I was left with no meaningful assistance. I strongly encourage patients to ask detailed questions about third-party labs and billing practices before agreeing to any testing.

LOCATION: on corner of Edinger and Red Hill. shopping center that has Fanous, T Mobile, and Terra Mia pizza OFFICE: modern and clean. Does not feel like an old and outdated. Lots of light and an open floor concept. There are TVs above the dental chairs so it distracts my children. They hand out animal balloons (same ones as South Coast Plaza) and my 3 kids love them and actually look forward to coming to the dentist. STAFF: Dr Jae is amazing. Not only is she kind and caring, you can see her technical dental skills as she moves thoroughly and efficiently. She has done several fillings on my children and they have never complained of any discomfort. We chose to do the NITROUS gas for the treatments, which was the best decision ever. We had such a wonderful experience at this pediatric dental office with our 9-month-old baby! He only has 2 teeth, so I was definitely nervous for his first visit, but the entire staff was so warm, friendly, patient, and skilled from the moment we walked in. That was never disclosed when we booked, even though they asked for her information over the phone. They only x-rayed the one tooth for a price that seemed similar to a full-mouth set of x-rays, and refused to check the rest of her mouth, saying it was an "emergency appointment." Since the appointment was scheduled a week later, that made little sense and was never explained in advance. Overall, the communication and pricing transparency were very disappointing, and we'll be looking for a new dentist.

After visiting several offices in Irvine, I realized how important it was to me that my son not only received excellent dental care, but also had a positive experience without developing fear or anxiety around going to the dentist. From our very first consultation, I was incredibly impressed with the entire team. Everyone was kind, patient, and genuinely seemed to care about their patients. What had been a traumatic experience for my son at another pediatric dentist turned into a completely enjoyable experience here. They were extremely understanding of his needs, especially since he is sensitive to the idea of the gas mask. They even let him take home a bubblegum-scented mask ahead of time so he could get comfortable with it before his appointment. That small gesture made a huge difference. Both of his cavities were treated so smoothly, and the doctor was incredible. Working with a six-year-old in a dental chair while performing difficult procedures takes a tremendous amount of patience and skill, and they knew exactly how to make Noah feel comfortable throughout the entire process. My biggest takeaway is that Irvine Children's Dentistry completely changed my perception of what pediatric dentistry should be. They have set a new standard for what I believe every pediatric dental office should strive to provide. The combination of exceptional care, patience, communication, and genuine compassion is something I wish every child could experience. I honestly can't recommend this place enough. They do exceptional work, and in my opinion, they should be the standard for pediatric dentistry. My only complaint is that I wish I could identify as a child so they could work on my teeth too!

They give prizes, let her choose toothpaste flavors, and watch TV while cleaning her teeth. The entire team is so gentle, encouraging, and understanding of her anxieties. She still comes to her appointments with a bit of apprehension, but they always take the time to make her feel comfortable. She leaves calm, happy, and proud of herself afterwards. We aree so grateful to have found a dental office that makes such a positive experience for our daughter and son. My son had a traumatic…read moredental experience when he was younger and had a lot of anxiety going into appointments--but everything changed once we found this practice. Dr. Yoong is truly incredible. He has such a calm, kind, and patient approach that makes kids (and now teens!) feel completely at ease. What used to be a stressful experience is now something we actually laugh about, and my son genuinely enjoys going in for his cleanings. Even better--he hasn't had a cavity since! The entire staff is just as amazing. My kids always ask for Heidi--she is the sweetest and makes them feel so comfortable, they even joke and compete over who gets her. It says so much about how cared for they feel here. And Maureen at the front desk deserves a special shoutout--she is always so warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to. Her positive attitude makes every visit start off on the right note.
