We have been coming to Dr Marfatia's office for 9 years. The staff is amazing, but today April and Dr Marfatia deserve huge kudos. Today my youngest had to have a tooth pulled and he was scared. It took an hour to calm him down and I never once felt rushed. The kindness and patience was beyond measure. Our pediatric dentist retired so we were in search for a new practitioner. We had so many friends recommend First Smile that we absolutely had to make an appointment and bring the kids in. The front office staff were efficient and helpful. Since the office books out pretty far in advance they gave us great suggestions that fit our scheduling needs. Dr. Marfatia was knowledgeable, practical, smart, and had a great way with my kids. He immediately made them feel comfortable in the "chair". Despite being nervous, my younger one was immediately comforted by Dr. Marfatia while my older one happily watched cartoon while her teeth were cleaned. I took my son today for his first ever dentist apt and I was a very nervous wreck due to him being autistic and having severe ADHD with sensory processing disorder, when I tell you I was in shock at how well he took to the staff here they were so sweet to him nobody pressured him they had amazing patience and kindness, he actually warmed up and was talking to them happy as can be and trusted them to do his X-rays and teeth cleaning! Every single person treated him well and he left feeling happy and content. Brought both of my young sons here for longer than I should of. The dental assistants were great, however the dentist had no patience for my older son who is more outspoken and restless. My older son has had a journey with his enamel. A long disappointing journey I wish on no one. He had baby dentures when he was only 3 years old and we had no proper advice nor direction. Every question I had wasn't met with a sincere response, it was always well if you want to or if you think so. The thing was I didn't know, I wasn't sure...I'm not the professional and my poor baby wore those dentures far longer than he should of and are dealing with the consequences. He also half assed the X-rays, he told me my son was missing an adult tooth. I got a second opinion and sure enough there was the tooth and since the tooth has grown in. Luckily now we have found an amazing dentist who makes my boys so comfortable they actually look forward to seeing her. All I'm saying if your son is a little different then the "norm" he won't be accepted but a burden at this office. read more

I am so happy I found this dentistry for my son. Even amidst Covid, I felt very safe and clean here. Everything from making an appointment to walking out the door was so smooth and delightful. The receptionist who made my appointment was pleasant to talk to and got all my information correctly over the phone. Shortly after, I received the paperwork to fill out via email. Don't be scared by the parking situation, it's a jam right in front of the Kaiser building but if you drive further to the next building, where the office is located, there is an abundance of parking. The office is very clean, staff is friendly. The waiting area usually has Legos and iPads for kids to play with, but due to covid, everything was removed. The examine room was equipped with a TV mounted to the ceiling for kids to watch during their appointment. It was my son's first dentist visit and I wasn't sure how he would behave. The dental hygienist did a great job at cleaning his teeth. We didn't have to wait long for the dentist to come in and I felt he was pretty thorough with examining my sons teeth and asking us the right questions and giving us advice related to my son's dental care. Our children have been patients of Dr. Marfatia for the past two years and we've had such great experiences each time! The office staff is always welcoming and the hygienists/ assistants are so friendly and gentle with kids. The office itself is clean and vibrant. It sounds crazy, but our kids love going to the dentist... it is entirely because of this office. We have been going here for 4 years. The staff are so kind, thoughtful and communicative. The patient space is well though out, extremely clean and colorful (see photos). There are TVs on the ceiling so the children can watch movies while they get their teeth cleaned, teeth pulled, cavities drilled and filled, etc. From a parent standpoint there is much more to appreciate - no physical paperwork (everything done on iPads), lots of space for seating, the appointments are well spaced (not crowded ever), technologically advanced with x-rays, computers, text messages, response times, everything... and the Dr is incredibly kind and communicative. read more

This was my kids first dental appointment and First Smile Pediatric Dentistry made it super easy! Everything went super smooth! First, making an appointment was so easy on the phone. Second, doing the forms (which were online) was kinda of long but the questions were pretty easy. Next, when we went there were iPads, TVs, legos, and many books and when they were cleaning my kids teeth, there were TVs while they were cleaning their teeth. They also do X-rays and Dr. Rabin Marfatia was very nice to the children we had an early appointment at 10:30 AM in the morning on 7-11-2024 and there was not much rush. Came here because our primary dentist do not specialize in children. Went in for xrays, discussed treatment plans with the Dr. and was given options for laughing gas or general anesthesia. I went with laughing gas as i planned on coming back on multiple visits for my sons needs and am very skeptical about putting my kid to sleep. I was told i would get an email of the treatment plan as discussed so i didnt need any paperwork (except for general anesthesia info since its done at a different location). I did not receive that email. I called after getting the insurance authorization in the mail to book a procedure but unfortunately the office manager who is also the scheduler was out of office at the time. The temporary staffing failed to call back after 3 weeks which caused major miscommunications on their part. Dr. Marfatia and the manager both emailed me directly to apologize for the miscommunication and assured to me that they took the necessary actions in making sure such miscommunications never happen again. They came highly recommended by our dentist whom we adore and trust. Due to the length of time we waited for their response and the urgency of care my son needs, we found another pediatrics dentist closer to home. Unfortunately, this place wasn't for us. read more
