Asked to get a quote on an new Air conditioner and Curt Sales came out and also verified he would not charge me for the second call. Gave me a quote on an Armstrong not a name unit and never gave me a quote for a Lennox as requested. Received a bill 2 weeks later for the second service call and called and Curt Sales stated would take care of it. In October received another invoice with a past due notice and I contacted Steven Jacobs and he stated he would take care of it and talk to Curt. Left stern message (without using profanity) stating if I had my credit damaged I would take him to court. He called up and it was obvious was not going to help. Untrustworthy and not worth allowing in my residence again.

It stopped working in June of 2024. They came out the next day to look at it (which we were very grateful for). However, the problem was electrical, so they did not resolve it (we had to bring in an electrician). I was shocked when I saw the bill for the service visit. I expected the $100 through the door fee that they told us about over the phone and expected to pay a little more to diagnose the problem/for the hourly rate. However, I was charged for the $100 service fee, plus another $63 for them to "Rinse off condenser coil water only." That is exactly what the line item says in the bill. I'm not happy that they charged me $63 to use my hose and water rinse off cotton from the unit. Actually, I had rinsed off the condenser the day before, which is even more frustrating. Honestly, if they labeled it in the bill as their hourly service fee rate, I wouldn't be as upset. In the end, the issue was electrical, so they likely couldn't have fixed the AC anyway. It was just frustrating that they charged so much to use my hose and water to spray something off for a few minutes when I could have done this myself for free.

Let's first admit that few of us enjoy spending money on house things that are basically invisible. Myself included. 2. I bought my house in Park Township a year ago, and I still don't have furniture in the living room. The plan was to tackle those purchases this summer, but alas, my a/c went out. ‍ So I called the company my folks' have used for decades, and the experience was lackluster at best. 3. So I called B&D for an estimate--and they were here within 2 days! Chad was super helpful, answered a bunch of questions, then sent a straightforward quote with options. He was wonderful to deal with. 4. After choosing a/c and furnace pair, B&D scheduled the installs quickly and as promised. Dan and Jon arrived on time, were friendly and respectful of my home, made sure everything functioned correctly, and made sure I knew how to use the new system. They were fabulous. 5. Lastly, if you don't know, purchasing a/c with a furnace qualifies for rebates. And we're talking serious rebates if you're willing pay more up front (and hold off on living room furniture a bit longer ). Plus I didn't even have to deal with that paperwork process myself--Kim handles it with ease. She was awesome. The Baumann and DeGroot team is simply amazing from start to finish. Highly recommend.

The water pipe that went from the city's main line to our house had sprung a major leak. Our local board of public works had shut off our water. I called the emergency number listed on the note and learned the story. The representative from the board of public works recommended Unema Plumbing. This was a Sunday at 4:30 pm. Not only did a representative from Unema call me back within 5 minutes, but he was also able to schedule the work to fix our water right away. By Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. we had our water back on! The men were quick, friendly, courteous, and clean! They cleaned up our yard and left my basement area ( where our water valve was) cleaner than when they arrived! Other than a small patch in our yard that needs grass seed you would hardly know they were there. I HIGHLY recommend Unema Plumbing for your plumbing needs!

Right there on the company iPad, that's handed to you by the guys who just fixed your expensive af water issue. Can't remember if it was 10% 15% 20%...or 15% 20% 25%. What I do remember is how freaking awkward it felt. When I go out to eat, get my hair done, or grab a coffee...I know these things are a part of an industry that relies on tips. When I have service guys over to my house (new homeowner, so it's more common than I'd like) I often cash tip a $20 or more depending on the work and time. But to be asked to tip 20% on $500 or $1000 dollars unexpectedly--do that math. Ugh. The guys were great and their work was solid. It's not on them for a crappy ending to the service call. If Great Lakes would have mentioned their tipping expectation in advance, like when I scheduled or when they sent a confirmation, it would have been a better experience. Sharing so you don't feel caught off guard the way I was.
