This is my go-to breakfast spot in Baldwin. The place is small, and sometimes you have to wait for a table, but they're also fairly quick. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. I typically get the breakfast burrito or the breakfast sandwich on a bagel (other bread options available). They are both very good. My friend ordered a pancake this time, and it was the size of the plate for $2! Also, the bread is all homemade, and you can pick up a fresh-baked pie to take home. While visiting Baldwin we had dinner when we arrived. The burger was great and their fish basket was fantastic! The service was pleasant and very attentive. Also purchased a whole pie to take home which was incredible!!! Apple Blueberry pie with the flakiest crust ever. Just like grandmas!! Enjoyed it so much we came back for breakfast in the morning. They have an AYCE buffet with just the basics but good and hot. We also ordered a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy which was good and would be a full order anywhere else. Very generous portions!! Still love this place, but food servers and some cooks are NOT wearing masks even though about half of the customers are. This practice seems to be a sad, ignorant local mindset... The only thing you will ever complain about here is the wait on a weekend morning. The food and the service are excellent. I normally have breakfast, but have had lunch and that was good as well. We had 7 people in our group for a breakfast on Friday morning. The only table that would fit us was already taken by 2 people, who kindly agreed to go to a smaller table. We were served immediately, and the food arrived in an appropriate amount of time. The food was excellent! Hash browns were the perfect mix of crispy and soft, sausage patties nice and thick and tasty. Omelettes were great. All orders were good sized, and everyone left full. Hands down the best breakfast in town. Ordered the omelets and home made bread. Everything was excellent and filled everyone up so much that we didn't eat it all. Were big guys to so this has to tell you something about the meals here. The waitresses were always going around filling up your coffee cups and they never got below half full. This used to the Main Stream cafe, which I was sorry to see close a couple years ago because it was the best breakfast/lunch place in Baldwin. Stopped in this week to see how the new ownership was doing and I was pleased. Ordered the 2 egg/hash browns/bacon/toast special ($4. 59!). Eggs were a perfect over-easy, got the hash browns extra crispy just as I'd asked, bacon was just on the edge of crisp, which in my eye is perfect. Coffee was OK and refills arrived just when I needed them. My only complaint is the time it took my order to come...close to 15 minutes, and this when the place was nearly empty. Hopefully on busy weekend mornings they boost the kitchen staff. Still, I'm looking forward to trying them for lunch on my next trip to Baldwin. read more

I visit Baldwin 5 to 6 times a year and always stop in at Northern Exposure Cafe. The staff are super nice, Heather works on the weekends and is by far my favorite waitress. The blueberry pancakes are awesome. The only drawback can be the wait for a table, but it is worth it. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!! Went here for breakfast with my brother and my son this past Sunday. The waitress (Deb) had a bad attitude from the start. She brought water and just threw the straws on the table. She finally came and got our order after a few minutes. I only ordered toast and juice. When we ordered, she had a bad attitude and made a snide comment. She came back with my juice and coffee for my brother, and acted like she really didn't want to be a waitress that day. We waited aver 30 minutes for our food, and meanwhile two other tables were served. She passed us a couple of times and never said anything about our orders. She finally went back towards the kitchen and seemed to be saying something to another lady (cook?). The lady glanced over and gave us a weird look and the waitress never came back to our table. At that point, put money on the table for the coffee and juice, and left. Who knows what they might have put in our food! I ADVISE ANYONE LOOKING TO EAT AT THIS PLACE TO THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING. Sat down pretty quickly for it being busy the waitress seemed nice got drinks and we ordered and then waited for an hour without food. People who got sat down after us got food before us and the waitress didn't even come back to check if we wanted refills on drinks. read more

Solid, fine breakfast. We had over medium eggs, bacon (thick cut, was pretty crispy) and hash browns. I had a pancake which was fairly rough and chewy- wouldn't recommend that- and my wife had home made wheat toast, which was great. Coffee was mediocre but not bad. $17 out the door, which is pretty reasonable. It did take about 20 minutes to get our breakfast, which is a little long. We were relaxing and drinking our coffee and being entertained by local gossip at the next table over so we didn't mind the wait! :) read more

My family and I had breakfast and it was great. They had a breakfast bar that the kids had and we had a variety of breakfasts, all were very good. The wait staff were very nice.
