Unfortunately, instead of compassion, we were met with rudeness and judgment. The staff member we spoke with was dismissive, belittling, and even brought up our recently deceased dog in a very insensitive tone. On top of that, she made a remark along the lines of "I don't know how people can have dogs when they can't pay for their vet bill," which was incredibly hurtful and unprofessional. Emergencies happen, and families deserve empathy not criticism when they're trying to care for a beloved pet. Most of the staff here were kind and professional, but unfortunately our experience was ruined by the receptionist. we were met with insensitivity and judgment, which made an already difficult situation so much harder. I'm deeply disappointed by the lack of compassion shown during such a stressful time. Pet owners go to the vet hoping for help and kindness, not to be shamed.

This is just appreciation review for Casco Bay Veterinary Hospital. We had a pet emergency, and while we chose to go somewhere else, the Casco Bay folks were so lovely and compassionate, they initially couldn't help us (their exotic animals vet was in surgery all day) but gave us recommendations on who else in Maine could (both in Kennebunk: Southern Maine Hospital for Small Animals [but they don't do emergencies and aren't open on weekends]; Angelus Urgent Veterinary Care [scheduled appointments for emergencies usually starting at 2pm; and, open weekends]). When none of them could help us, the Casco Bay staff rearranged some things to make it possible for us to drop our pet off so the exotic animals vet could see him when they had time. They were action-oriented, they were patient, they were kind when we had spent twelve plus hours trying to find a vet to help us in a dire situation. Almost NO VET in Maine will see a rabbit anymore, but Casco Bay does. Such a huge relief to know that they're a reliable place that genuinely cares (even when they've never met you before).

Less than an hour before our appointment, I called to cancel and Courtney immediately offered to get me in ASAP, 2 weeks later. We had our appointment today and both Courtney and Joe out front were lovely! (there was a 3rd person that I did not get to interact with, but based on the track record, I'm sure she is a delight as well!!). We were brought in and a nurse did a quick once over with my little girl, Cookie, before Dr. Ring came in. The whole appointment was very efficient but very friendly and well done. They gave my cat a very calm and safe environment in which she only once got feisty (and, I mean, if you were putting things up my butt to check some glands, I might also have some opinions on that so... ya know, fair!) No question I asked was considered stupid or treated less than anyone with years more experience as a cat owner. I was made to feel like I'm giving her a good home and doing a great job taking care of her. I'm extremely pleased with the appointment and the staff. At the end of the day, everything was roughly $230 but I was given an itemized bill at the end and, honestly, the pricing felt very fair. I know my little old lady will be in good hands here.

They love the animals and treat them well. Instructions for any follow up care are always clear. I will say they may be a little more expensive than other vets, but for us, the convenience of being near-by and friendly service outweighs a few bucks here and there. I also think it's important people understand the cost of owning a pet so I don't focus on that.

The response from the vet was "we're just about to start our afternoon procedures and can't help". Stunned I asked "really, she has a mouth full of quills"... the reply: "we're sorry" I then drove another 25 minutes to the vet on Falmouth Foreside who admitted us and after administering a mild sedative removed the quills and discharged my pup 30 minutes later. I would never recommend Cumberland Animal Clinic to anyone. Hopefully the vet didn't have too hard a day and got home on time. Again, is this what small animal veterinary care has become?

They have often been able to squeeze me in last minute when necessary, I have never had to wait past my scheduled appointment time, the office is immaculate, and Dr. Lucas especially has gone above and beyond for me as veterinarian. My dog absolutely adores it there; there is no place he is more excited to be. This excitement results in a rather naughty, licky, and rambunctious pup, but the people at CAC love him anyway, handling his energy with compassion and skill. I feel that my dog recieves the best care possible, and that I am treated with fairness, kindness, and respect. After receiving treatment at CAC, I always receive a follow up call to check on my dog's progress. Una's medical care is better than my own! We (Una the dog and myself) appreciate you, Cumberland Animal Clinic! Keep up the good work!

Unfortunately, after the first few initial visits, the therapist was unable to keep her political views out of our (deliberately) otherwise neutral exchanges. I didn't feel I needed to express that a five hour round-trip and fees for the visit should not include my having to listen to how the current administration is "blowing up Venezuelan fishing boats" etc.. I also noted a growing tension and tense demeanor over time, and I stopped going, and simply got financing and bought my own laser. The long trip, the clinic fees, and being forced to listen to this crap on a more or less constant basis completely justified the expense. Being a retired veterinarian, it was not hard for me to get a handle on treatment protocols. However, while learning these protocols, I realized that the treatment that had been provided was only partial because contrary to recommendation, she was not treating the dorsal root ganglia, (the anatomical features by which the nerves entered the spinal column). These were never done, and apparently they are critical. Again, having worked in this profession once expressing one's ideology surpasses providing treatment to animals regardless of who brings them in becomes more important, there's no point in continuing the relationship. It demonstrates a profound lack of professionalism and self-control. Based on my experiences, I cannot rate the rehabilitation portion of this clinic by more than one star. To be absolutely clear, I never visited this facility for any other purpose or interacted with any of its veterinarians or staff except in passing , nor did I receive any other services from them. My review reflects only my experiences with the rehabilitation facility and the person administrating treatment.

As a first time pup parent, I was stressed about where to go to get my puppy spayed, as well as the timing of the spay (Mabel is a Labrador). Vet Rehab put me at ease. When we went to establish Mabel as a patient there (she was already a patient at other highly rated vets, including in NYC). Vet Rehab was up on the very latest studies about the timing of the spay, and it was apparent from the moment I walked in that they care about their patients and that Mabel was in the best hands here. They went through her entire medical history and took their time with us. They also offer services that other vets do not, including a blue light that helps accelerate the healing process! With their (frequent - shout out to Lisa) guidance, Mabel is doing very well after her surgery. I trust Vet Rehab completely and intend to return for the rest of Mabel's care.
